Yeah, I thought Ben was a fool too. Until I read somewhere about the dark history in his family line filled with mental illness, suicide and alcoholism. As warm, loving, genuine, perfect wholesome and Christian Jennifer Garner is, Ben really need to dig down within him to find the intention to heal from his traumas due to his dark family stories that seems to haunt him everywhere he goes. Because as a child your subconscious mind tend to find what's familiar. If a son see his Dad cope by drinking, he tend to gravitate towards drinking too as a coping mechanism.. As seen in Ben and Casey's (his brother) life.. they both emulate the behaviour of their alcoholic dad. And it's only getting worse by generation, unless he consciously and persistently decide to put an end to this destructive cycle, not to pass it down to the next generation (his children).
I remember watching Alias when it came out. There was nothing like it and the cliffhangers at the end of every episode just kept me wanting for more. The first two seasons were one of the best of any TV show. Unfortunately, it started becoming convoluted in season 3. Wish JJ Abrams gave Alias as much time as he did Lost.
The first half of season 3 was great. After Full Disclosure it started becoming a mess. Season 4 rectified that a bit with simpler stories but that alienated the core fans. I actually rather enjoyed season 5 although it was very rushed at the end. A reboot wouldbe fantastic to tie up some of the thousand loose ends!
I'm suprised JJ Abrams hasn't found a role of Jennifer in some of his film projects. Although I just saw Keri Russell is set to appear in episode 9, so maybe JJ has a plan for Jennifer since he just hooked up his first leading lady.
There’s three thoughts going through my mind: 1. What if Sydney Bristow ended up in the MCU, and the first person she meets is Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow? 2. Can we trade Captain Marvel for her Elektra? 3. She needs to be in a future Mission: Impossible movie.
