Since I don’t know her personally, I can’t make an accurate assessment of her intelligence. Regardless, I still stand by my original comment about her being smart and pretty. I think being a celebrity would be a nightmare, and she appears to handle the pressure well.
She’s not that smart. I’m in recovery and I could see a mile away the disaster of their relationship. He wanted someone who was boring and structured, but he can never actually live like that because he’s an addict. She’s like the most boring person on earth I don’t even know how she is famous.
She is honestly one of those celebrity who literally radiates with her genuine-ness when she speaks. Breaks my heart she is going through a divorce, but she honestly seems so strong that at the same time, I know she's got this handled.
And here come all the "You signed up for it so quit crying" comments.
She's an actress. It's a job. Did she sign up for having 10 - 15 cars parked outside of her private home looking to find or manufacture dirt? Was that in the Official Hollywood Actress Contract? You act like that's normal. That's perverse, and it's the public's fault. The only reason non-stop coverage of public figures, in the search for salacious events, happens is because we're collectively living unsatisfied lives. We're the pathetic ones.
The problem isn't her choices. The problem is the consuming public.

So publicity vultures thus have the right to hound her at every turn? Nobody forced anyone to spend money to go see her movies. Or are you implying that discretionary spending on entertainment gives the public the right to her private life?
Jeremy Beckerman it's not about whether or not they have the right. That's irrelevant. It comes with the job. It's not like she was unaware of that fact when she decided she wanted to be famous, make movies, and live in Hollywood. Lots of celebrities find ways to avoid the media circus. She's a smart and talented woman. I sure she can handle it.
My belief has always been if people spent as much time, money and interest on their own lives as they do these celebrities maybe their own lives might a bit moe enriching. These people are not friend or family. They perform a job called acting. Their private life is that...private.
PLEASE!! Plenty of actors opt out of paparazzi by simply... MOVING ELSEWHERE. You do not have to live in Hollywood to be an actor, especially in Jennifer Garner's league. These people, let's face it, starve for attention. They want to get paparazzi'd. If they didn't, they wouldn't have anything to complain about. They want to live right in the middle of Los Angeles just so their lives would not be boring. They would be too at peace anywhere else.
Still, under stress, this lady was so gentle and kind when she asked the Paparazzi to give her some privacy 🌷 much respect and wish her find peace and happiness :)

Saw her car surrounded once when she was just taking her kids for ice cream! Its tuff and Ben has put her through the ringer with his alcoholism and divorce. I think she's very brave and she's a very good mom!! Deserves to be loved by a great guy.

There should be laws against the media using pictures of the children of public figures without their parents permission. I know some publications have pledged not to post kid pics with out their parents permission but it really should be a law.

This is the trade off for being a rich celebrity.. Regardless of how ridiculous the paparazzi are. Normal people don't have to deal with that but we have to deal with the "I could cry" feeling of not being able to afford groceries.

I so sympathize/empathize, Lana. When hired on Madison Avenue I realized it was a
complete/radical lifestyle adjustment. A grind that often breaks people down. I have friends
that took "Jobs" instead of careers -- i.e. things they loved etc. They'd tell me I was going to
"Pay the price" for going after what I wanted (a writing career). What they didn't realize was
that there was also a price for following-the-crowd. i.e. "Selecting a job/career where positions
were known to be plentiful." (RN's, Air Traffic Controller's, CPA's - a job with a UPS-like carrier).
-I preferred failure in my field to the cubicle, lengthy advancement procedure(s) that
was starting out in an entry level position (assistant Producer).

Just because you're an actor or singer it does not mean you signed up for that level of craziness. Today's modern technology makes it near impossible for entertainers to even leave their homes. The boundaries are crossed to extreme measures. It's just insane how people defend and justify the paparazzi's. Princess Diana DIED trying to flee them. They wouldn't leave her alone and now she is dead. This is a huge problem and they DID NOT sign up for this. They are doing a job, so enough with cry me a river comments. Privacy and Respect is for all and they should be held accountable for when they hurt people.

I was at a disney hotel waterpark and my family and jennifer garner were the only two families at the waterpark. It was her her kids and her nanny and I remember she was so paranoid about paparazzi that when my grandfather was waiting at the bottom of the slide to take pictures of us and she came down and said “ please dont take pictures of me “ and he he explained and she went on and said how she was paranoid. And we were hanging out with her kids and its so sad because they are just normal people who deserve to live without being followed by paparazzi.

Eh, Jennifer Garner notoriously worked with paparazzi for years to craft the perfect family images. She was photographed 100 times more than much more famous people. Photos always came out at critical times in her marriage: Jen and Ben at church, Jen and Ben at the farmers markets, etc. She can't cry about it now.

I could cry from the stress of my administration at work. And I never had anxiety before.
Oh, and I don’t have a million dollar home to come home to. I have a couch and a mortgage is probably what she makes in a hot minute (but yet will take me 30 YEARS to finish paying on my salary).
So yeah the paparazzi is stressful, but so is the real world.
At the end of the day we all have to have our stresses, and the small population of people that don’t are just truly blessed.

Dana _ not jealous at all and she’s a celebrity I actually really like. Unlike most of the people around me (or people who were hit by the financial housing cruising back in ‘08) I actually have a home well with in my means and I’ve set up a future ie retirement for myself to the best of my abilities and I am extremely grateful for what I do have as I know I have it better than a lot of people also. Commenting on a video like this is something that I wouldn’t normally do for those reasons, however, her problems seem SO small in comparison to the starving clients, children without homes and family (and dare I say drug addicts who were NEVER given any direction-this could open the door for a while other debate which I’m not trying to get into, just making a point) and even my own and the many friends I have that are drowning in student debt because they were told that college is what you’re supposed to do and that you won’t have a future without it...yeah, sorry but in comparison her problems seem small.
Like I said, this is something I wouldn’t even typically comment on. Jealousy isn’t the emotion I feel towards this, a celebrity life seems lonely to me and I wouldn’t want to live that life, but with that loneliness comes money and A LOT of financial security. Plenty of celebrities find ways around that by removing themselves from Hollywood and living a more simple life out of the limelight (which she seems to have done a little bit). My point being when you have money, you have options...LOTS of options, that the typical Joe (or Jane-like myself) on the street does not and most likely will never have.
Oh no.. administration work. Why don't you just quit your job then, uproot your entire life and find a new one and stop complaining? OH WAIT.
CornishPasty thank you for validating my point exactly. So yes, to continue my complaint... unlike Jen here, I don’t have the financial luxury to uproot my life as I’m part of the lower middle class. Trust me when I say I’m sacrificing (taking less showers to save on water/products, not using AC/heat, buying as minimal of food as possible) in an effort to pay off my (as low as possible) mortgage payment, so that I DON’T have to feel trapped in my job forever (& by administration I meant my superiors, not my title). To reiterate my point, her career financially has WELL surpassed mine and probably the average Americans and unlike the average American, she is in a position to up and leave it all behind and still have a very cushy lifestyle. So yes, I am very much complaining. We all have people to answer to and deal with at work, but the average person cannot up and leave for fear of not being able to support their families. A celebrity can downsize their lifestyle, move out of the limelight and still probably have more than the average person.

Our local radio morning show has an insider Hollywood source with material for the show. Over and over again this source has said that Jennifer Garner calls and alerts the paparazzi where she will be so they’ll take pics of her. I kindof believe it. Their careers would be dead if people just stopped caring about them. Showing their personal life gets people talking about them. It’s not enough to just be in a movie or tv show.
This is what I hear as well. And from the paparazzis as well. And it makes sense. How on earth would the paparazzi even locate these stars when they are out and about in a city with millions and millions of people like Los Angeles. The stars themselves do anything for attention and then just love to play the victim. It's all show.
She calls them so she can control the time and place rather than paparazzi ambushing her family whenever. She is able to create a better more controlled environment for her family this way.

For those saying to leave LA, it can take 3 to 9 months to shoot a movie and a show, up to 11 months of the year. That’s why majority of actors live in LA jungle, because imagine leaving your kids and spouse for almost a year to live in a hotel room, and shoot from 6 am til 11 pm, every day for months. Paparazzi are so annoying, the press is so desperate, there are very few journalists who actually keep their "humanity" and are not hungry for scandal, drama, fights or break ups. Oh, Justin is getting married, Britney hooked up with over 30 men, who gives a sh*t? They are people, they deserve understanding, compassion and the most important thing privacy. A private life is a happy life. Leave them alone, let them live and enjoy their life. If you were going through a divorce wouldn't you want others to be kind and compassionate and not just throw the camera in your face and ask you if your spouse cheated on you? If you were getting married wouldn't you want others to be happy for you, instead of judging, critising or making predictions about your future as a couple? Go live your life, build the best version of yourself, stop being so hungry for drama, if you find out smt good, exciting about a celebrity be happy for them and move on with your life, if they are having a rough time, pray for them and move on with your life. Give these people a break. They also have old parents, sick kids, money problems, health issues, marriage or relationship problems and on top of those the pressure to be "perfect" from the media and people like us who crave information.

10 years with 5+ cars outside of your house at all times. I hate people who think actors should just accept that as the price of fame. No line of work should have such stupid price. We should respect each other. That's why I believe in regulation. I love freedom, but I think a game can not be good if there isn't a good set of rules. If soccer for example was completely free, nobody would like it, it just wouldn't work... we need a complex set of rules to make a game (interaction between people) work. People need boundaries, and absolute freedom is as much as an utopia as is communism. Freedom doesn't work by itself, markets can't be 100% free. Everything needs boundaries, it needs a system, and it's up to us to find out what the boundaries are that will prevent us from destroying ourselves and make our games productive while still giving us the maximum amount of freedom possible.
