They were probably doing their best to quickly deage it back to its original form. I am fairly certain the school was visible to an extent originally in 7, but Kuwana’s house probably wasn’t hence it was removed. Even though it played a small part in the story they were dedicated to being as consistent as possible since it takes place at the same time as 7, but clearly copied from lost judgement to save time as seen by the existence of the drone racing arena which was never present in 7 and was just simply cut off from the rest of the map.
@@weenuktuguy283 they can put a whole police headquarters over Don Quijote in what seems to be almost a year since judgment yet they take there time with Little Asia.
Ngl, one of the things I liked about games that reused a map from a previous game is looking how much of it was reused and what part of it is still intact. Kinda like how Sandover village from Jak and Daxter was reused in Jak II's opening and you can explore it using a glitch to see how much of it was intact.
It is interesting that this city has elements of both Y7 and LJ; RGG Studio is said to develop multiple games simultaneously with the same team, so perhaps it was culled from assets in development for LJ.
I was really looking for this kind of mod, thank you for this video! It's a bit frustrating to have such a large map blocked off, but if they didn't add any content, I understand why they blocked it
True. It's better to have a smaller map packed with good content than a larger empty one. Usually other companies hide this with a "checklist/collectables" and call side quests xD
This opens the possibility of someone modding a entire segment of the game so we fight Ichiban, i mean, it IS possible, just would take 2 years of development if done by a single person.
Yokohama was pretty much fully fleshed out with Lost Judgement so parkour signs etc. are likely from the long battles there, and all obstacles probably need to be manually implemented for like story progression purposes. Interesting to see it so barren though. Im actually not sure if will get much use in Infinite Wealth- I can imagine that this game was designed to develop the Dragon Engine Sotenbori and bring it up to speed since its been out of the last couple games but at the same time they might skip it entirely and leave it as fuel for the Judgement games since the Cast is in hawaii. now that ive seen this though- I want to see Kiryu on yagami's skateboard.
thanks for the vid. i think the hostess minigame being completely lifelike (animation-wise) wasn't the worst choice, but it takes up so much disk space where I wish we could have gotten a fully explorable Ijincho instead, maybe with Ichiban and friends as a bonus boss.
I’m surprised Ijincho was even in the game because it literally only has one part in the first chapter and then it’s never relavant again. Still lets you go back after the story but not much point to and is probably just for fun.
Quite a lot of detail we would never see normally in-game. Must be a few extra GB taken up just to make development faster. This would be a good modding resource if only this was the type of franchise that received mods of such a scale.
I have seen some mods done for the games. I don’t remember there name but I do know someone was experimenting with making 7 not turned based and making enemies usable.
Looks like it's LJ's Ijincho because as far as i can remember Seiryo school is not in the Y7 map and there's no drone racing either. I wonder why they didn't let us explore the whole Ijincho by default since everything seems to be there already
Actually possible to implement LJ's Yokohama map with playable minigames, there are 2 questions tho: How? And how the hell will the engine be able to handle and/or run it? Ps:i know it's dragon engine aswell, but it did change some aspects between the code of lj and ladg
I did see a version of this mod that has working shops and was supposed to add in missing assets, for some reason it doesn't see mt owor kfor me though
I’m probably gonna do a bigger video sometime in the future considering the mod maker added a fully working Kamurocho and Honolulu. So stay tuned for that.
Ijincho looks beautiful with gaidens lighting it’s actually crazy
It's kinda interesting that this version of Ijincho has Seiryo High but not Kuwana's house.
To me, it seems like a really weird mish mash of Y7 Ijincho and LJ Ijincho

I honestly don't even remember ever seeing Kuwana's house in LJ
Damn i wish we had more time here and had a boss battle with Ichiban. But the game is great nevertheless.
This should've been premium adventure

I remember messing around a lot in sandover village on the shitty ps4 port of Jak 2 (that would constantly crash for me for some reason?)

@ubisoft, we're talking about you over here ! Take notes!

the mod creator (of this mod) already is planning on adding back all the shop owners. He allegedly already has the mini-map working properly

If some have their way we'll have all cities from all 9 main games fully accessible.
Ijincho was criminally underused this game.
Makes sense though, it happens during LAD so there would be almost no way for Kiryu and Ichi to never meet before the stuff at Omi HQ

Gaiden was developed as a dlc for 8 so what you see here is probably what's available in 8 in a trimmed version
Sotenbori was in Y7

I wonder how much storage space is being used on areas we can't get to by default.

the map is only a 100mbs less than in lost judgment

@@Gamerguy-ud1zoyes, this mod is made by jhrino, pretty sure the public release is next month.
You know i never thought i would see RonaldMcdonald in the yakuza font. But im glad it is. This is a pretty cool vid and cool view of Ijincho
The legend is back

Possibly a time frame.
Bruh I wish there was some sort of mod that ports a lively full Ijincho like in the other games because it reminds me of a remade Sleeping Dogs
hopefully someone mods it to get it fully working
This feels like it could be a mod ngl

is this version from lost judgement?
from what it looks like, it’s a combination of Yakuza 7’s Ijincho and Lost Judgment’s
