In May of 1999 , our son graduated from Yale University in New Haven Connecticut , USA . My wife and kids went to attend his graduation ( he graduated with 2 Masters Degrees from there ) . We travelled all the way from Botswana for that momentous event .Surprisingly , our son handed my wife and I two tickets to a live concert staged by Toots and The Maytals. The concert was held at the Toads Nightclub in New Haven . What a wonderful time we had !!!!! After the concert we requested to go and see Toots in his bus , but unfortunately his son informed us that he was very tired . Nonetheless , we came away from that day , the 18th of May 1999 , with a sense of happiness and great joy . Incidentally , the first time I had heard Toots and The Maytals was in 1974 . RIP Toots .
Saw toots and the Maytals in Camden around 1989 it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to the crowd and vibe was something else!! Real Legend RIP Toots...
Sad to see him die of the virus like that, but he will live forever through this song - its an easy top 10 of all time and a strong contender for the best reggae song ever!
A very special time it was for a lot of us. We discovered REGGAE,... IT STILL HITS THE SPOT ALWAYS WILL.. And Trojan set the standard. Oooh for a box of those red and white 7 inchers mono of course., most of the time you could also get a gr8 b side .
This reminds me of advert of a study centre which promises candidates that even after several attempting WAEC Examinations without success, they will succeed if they enroll and study in their centre.. This was in late 70s and 80s in Nigeria. ABC Radio 1 Enugu, Nigeria regularly air the advert.

Hibbert 'Toots' was an enigma...he took 'rock steady beat to a higher plane'.
