When he would come to San Francisco he would pack the Fillmore. 4 hour concerts drenched in sweat and dancing in a deliciously smoke filled room. Joints passing among the audience and not a bad vibe in the crowd. We passed him our love and he gave it back. It was a religious experience more than a concert. He will be deeply missed.
One of the very few times where the sequel or "answer" record is an improvement on the original (which was called 54-46 THAT'S My Number). The introduction alone is enough to make James Brown proud. The rest is classic Rock Steady sung by the best Jamaican expert at American Soul music since the Blues Busters. This should be played with the original as Parts 1 & 2...it'll do you good, trust me.
This is the 1970 version but the original 1968 version features the great rocksteady pioneer Lynn Taitt on guitar who was also the one that came up with the bassline rhythm for this classic reggae song. So many people think they escape, poor judgments they try to pass on the jews. Gossip from cursed tounges, and no longer any forgiveness to be found!,Babylon falls as so many sing along. Everyday more and more have chosen to wear that numba.
