1:57 Honda gave up making the Clarity FCEV a few years ago. They may start up again, but at the moment only the Mirai and the Nexo are available in the world to purchase. The Yaris H2 @ 3:36 can be refueled in 1.5 minutes, but that is with liquid hydrogen for racing, not the 700 bar pressurized hydrogen. The other issue with using hydrogen in an internal combustion engine is its efficiency. The Mirai gets 65 miles/kg and can store 5.5kg withing its 3 tanks. The internal combustion Yaris gets 18 miles/kg when driven normally. Using the same tanks would get you ~100 miles before refueling would be needed.

I would prefer the Hydrogen powered unit over pure Battery cells.

The 1.5 minute to fill the tank, while average EV takes 45 minutes to charge 80% of the battery....

Misrepresentation. There is a wait time between hydrogen refills that you didn’t factor in.

Misleading, that was when Toyota raced the vehicle and it was with liquid hydrogen because the previous year they were using regular compressed hydrogen and only could get 20 miles before another 6-minute refueling was needed. With the liquid hydrogen, they were still in last place but not embarrassingly in last place.

Yes, I would gladly buy the hydrogen-powered Sprinter Trueno or the electric Levin in a heartbeat!
    Make it happen, Toyota!!

As a greenhouse gas, hydrogen is 11 times more potent than CO2. It’s foolish to think that if hydrogen is used on a large scale that leakage won’t happen. Hydrogen is also a very inefficient way to store energy for a car. It’s a stupid idea.

All of its stupid, but what is less stupid? And leakage I'm sure will occur, but not enough to even amount to normal emissions with gas powered or electric powered. There's been propane vehicles for a long time and there's very little issues with leakage. You need things to be tight and not Leak in all fuel vehicles that aren't EV so that's going to be easy to have done right

@Andrew McMillions id still buy one ngl im sure they have enough experience and have enough research to know what they are doing

If Toyota would develope E-Fuels, like Porsche, than all problems would be gone.

6:18 Love the "DO NOT REFUEL AFTER 2029/11" That's when the $25,456 tanks expire and need replacing.

It would be awesome if they could burn multi fuels. CNG or RNG, Ammonia, Propane, Hydrogen, synthetic fuels.
I am thinking a truck that is both fuel cell PHEV hybrid and a range extender ICE that could use common available multi fuels for long range heavy use.
It would not tax the grid as hard and have a greater chance of being used in areas farther away from infrastructure. Also some fuels can store indefinitely.

Obviously you have not looked at how much hydrogen fuel cost. It is much more expensive than gasoline. You can count the number of commercial hydrogen filling stations in the US on you fingers.
Go look at the reviews of the Murai. Underpowered. Long lines at the filling stations. Dispensers freezing up in SoCal warm weather.

Of course, the infrastructure must be expanded. In addition, the technology is still under development. It will take some time before the technology is profitable for normal end users. Nevertheless, it is a step which makes alternative energies more accessible. Let's see where the journey ultimately goes.

Of all people that should realise "the nail that sticks up gets hammered down" it should be the Japanese. They coined the term.
"The driving experience is nearly identical to that of a conventional (ICE) car" - And BEVs are *better*..! Faster, safer, cheaper, simpler.
This will flop, the auto market has rightly already decided on an electric future.
