I adore these summer colors. Wonderful selections. This is the age of the Midjourney-esque tanget of immaculate artistic color schemes. It fills us with nostalgia for the present, because we know we will love these as memories of now in the future. Well done, Lamy!
I love the pina colada one. It looks so beautiful. Lamy Safari is not on my next buy list, but damn I can't pass out on this one. Will be definitely getting the pina colada one. Amazing Video Brain!!!
Just got my first Lamy, other than the 2000,an acquatic. Love it and the Lamy cliff ink. The Pina Colada is a cool summertime pen! I really like the color combos they are doing.
I love how you also talk about different inks that could work with these pens. I am relatively new to the fountain pen world so i dont know a whole lot about the inks and what options there are. The podcast has been helpful in that area. But that part of these videos is great too.
Those look amazing. I love the Lamy Safari for so many reasons and I am going to buy both them. I don’t care. I collect them and they bring me pleasure. It’s not like they’re sailor pro gears. They cost the same as a restaurant meal for one these days.
Oh yes!! I want these for the summer and they are so cheerful!! I once you collect a few you can creat some extravagant patchwork combinations. I am in 🇩🇪 and will be looking for them.
Thank you Brian, for serving up the FUN! I commented on another video (but this seemed an even more appropriate time to mention) that I recently discovered that there is a Lamy store in San Francisco! (I live across the Bay, so very close.) I am thrilled! I don’t currently own a Lamy, but I want one. Just not sure which model. Now, maybe, I’ll have the opportunity to try them all! I CAN’T WAIT!! Why am I so ridiculously excited about this?
Because they’re Lamys!!! They are ridiculously exciting. I got one, then a Vista, then two more colors in Safaris. And I’ve got a wish list. They are so great that my pens from my past, “ye olde reliable loved ones,” have been sitting quietly, staring enviously at the new pens. I got my first Lamy, a Vista, then two more colors of Safaris all in one month. I even have a Lamy wish list. Take that dive, friend. You won’t look back.
@@alesiamassey3801 Ha, I repeated myself in that comment. I suppose I was excited, but that’s just what these pens are. It’s like a house afire. My Lamy is the first thing I reach for when I get up every day. I’m excited for anyone in getting their first ones. Enjoy yours, whatever color(s) you decide.
I did it. I ordered BOTH today. ❤ I already have a bottle of Diamine Soft Mint, which I think will be amazing in the Pina Colada pen. For the Cherry Blossom, I only have one red ink, Wild Strawberry, which is TOO red. I ordered a sample of Noodlers Rattler Red Eel.
I am getting 80's neon lights, retrowave feeling...! Pink or purple would look nice with some turquoise or light blue, aquamarine color. Certainly someone could make a nice combination with some of all those colors that been shown on the video. What about preppy wa editions btw, will we get a new special edition this year ?
I love their contrast clips. I don’t have a safari but I got a Pokémon edition one for my brother that was orange with a bright yellow clip and it’s pretty dope. The piña colada color way is the first time I feel tempted to get one myself!
Noooo! I've just placed my order a few days ago for the other pens that I was on the fence for a long time. Now, I'll have to put in another one and wait for another shipment!!! (Story of my life!) 😂❤😢😮😂😅
Brian, just awoke from sleeping, and found your video post on Saturday at midnight. Feels like a Nike shoe drop, lol. Beside the point, hope your site does not crash because of these drops, already seeing some comments about Lamy fans unable to click purchase on these Safaris. I think Uniball Mitsubishi has some data with online sales of the last LEs, and want to capitalize on the trend. It makes distribution more efficient to use online vs stocking brick & mortar stores. New colors are great, and if I was getting one, it would be Pina Colada, as it is associated to the drink. Tbh, holding off for the Lamy Studio LEs.
Can you do a video about best inks for beginners. I am getting my TWSBI 580 Iris pen from you, very soon, but not sure what ink to get for an absolute beginner in fountain-pens
They have a few videos on beginner inks or easy inks. I would recommend the Lamy original inks (not the crystal which are amazing intro inks with sheen) with the exception of dark lilac which has tons of sheen. Those or the pilot Iroshizuku line. The Iroshizuku line is really good for most colors. Will work well in the 580 which will never dry out
I know that Lamy was sold to Mitsubishi Pencil Co earlier this year, and this must be part of a new sales strategy. I like the colors, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out. I wonder if they're going to try seasonal offerings year round. That could be a viable strategy or it could backfire with Safari users getting collectors' fatigue. Money is still tight for a lot of people, and buying eight Safaris a year might be a stretch--not to mention how fast the sheer number of pens starts to add up in a collection.
This is the second pen channel ive come across and neither of you have very much for people who are curious about these pens. It would be nice to see more introductory information. Stuff to help guide someone to their first starter pen, etc.
I don't find the Safari grip section comfortable, and those colors are...definitely something else, though not to my taste. But commenting for the algorithm. Everyone who these are perfect for, enjoy them! 🙂
I am a bit frustrated that the Safaris that I have dries out in a month or two. I wonder if anyone has tried to put a drop of super glue or similar into the cap to seal it better. This could also be a topic to discuss in the vlog.
@@Gouletpens Thank you, that’s a relief! Okay, now to decide which one; I’m seeing (I already named mine) the ‘Margaritaville’ with Blue Bahama ink, or ‘Cherry Blossom Special’ with Pinkly, naturally. I’m so bad. I’ve yet to ink two new Safaris and just look at me, already shopping for more. 😳 That’s my dream. I’m crawling along the edge of ………… the colors, the colors . . .

They're kinda fun, but not my type of thing, I don't feel like the color between the grip and body are utter mismatches as I did with the earlier lamy releases.
My only complaint is, why pina colada? the blue feels antithetical to what would be a coconut color. it’s a great colorway, but coconut (to me) would be off white, brown, or green.
Same pens as all the other safaris but with different colour plastic… how ‘innovative’… Great Cashgrab grift… how about actually innovating and inventing a totally new pen??
Well new pens colours are kind of fountain pen industry’s thing. One rarely sees new pens, they experiment new colours mostly. I guess that’s because innovation has already peaked for fountain pens. But I’m not complaining I like the new colours, might not buy them.
@@onigarasu Several colors in one’s collection is just too much fun, and the price points can’t be beat for a perfectly great pen. They’re my favorite ones of all my pens. They write the same but - the colors, the COLORS!💜💙🩵

Don't need more safaris but have fomo, so I'll buy them!!!
Aquasky - cracks me up every time! 🤣 I may "need" that Cherry Blossom!
very good color combinations
Great video! Loved all color comparisons to other Safaris and the ink recommendations.

Brian you do a great job describing these pens! They are so much fun...kind of like the Pen Cast! God bless you.
Can we discuss your matching shirt!!! Love the new colors of the pens.

Yes to both!!

Omggggg amazing colors!! When seeing the blue/yellow pen, the first drink that came to mind was Margarita, but I guess Pina Colada is close enough lol
Oh man, I don’t love the look of the safari necessarily but it goes REALLY well with these poppy colours 😍 So fun and vibrant!
liking the cherry blossom a lot, the pina colada is pretty neat too

Cool colors. I'll call those Bermuda Pastel collection.
the pina colada just rocks and the cherry is not that bad
I didn't expect to like these as much as i do! I think I'll try the cherry first.
Love the Cherry Blossom. Just bought my first Lamy (Violet Blackberry) nib.
What a pleasant surprise. Lamy has a good thing with Safari's. So why did I just recently try one for the first time?
Fun! The base colours are what I hoped the disappointing pale macaron colours would have been.

Hi, did Lamy release special editions in Japan? I have been seeing a Safari with a violet while the clip and top finial is yellow...thanks,🙏
Was the shirt colour-coding intentional? Either way, lots of kudos! Your videos are always on the knife edge balance of interesting and informative.

the Pina Colada should be paired with some crazy pink for that Vaporwave Vibe! Drew should get on that asap!
