I was able to figure out a solution that will hopefully help others that also have this super common issue on Ram 1500’s! Must watch video before replacing your cv axle! I feel your pain buddy. I had to swap the passenger side shaft on my 19 Ram and it was a nightmare. Fought with it all weekend before finally getting it off. A year later, I had the new boot fail. I just took it to the dealer bc I didn’t want to go through that again. They told me I had to replace the whole diff. I said no thanks. I found a way to replace just the boot itself, but that only lasted about 4 months. I’m going to try your method. Thanks for the info!

Wow, wtf. I'm having the same issue on my dad's 2015 ram and and I jokingly said we were going to change the whole diff. Didn't think that would be the real solution...

Yeah a major flaw on these rams. Very common unfortunately!

I am curious about how you cut the old cv axle, I was thinking about doing the same thing, why did that not work?

I tried cutting in a symmetrical line all around the stub shaft being careful not to hit the splines but i was getting into the splines and it still wasn’t budging. Have heard cutting works for some but i had no luck. Tried pb blaster, heat, huge sledge hammer, nothing worked. At this point i was so mad i was ready to just get it done. You can get used diff’s off of eBay for $400-$800 and if yours is as stuck as mine was, it is worth just replacing vs beating on it for hours
