I think he wanted to say that ethopia was the only african country during the 19th century that never was a colony but he used words that end up including Liberia as well.
Liberia at the time is probably best defined as a "client state" of America, although it may have been more of a colony. Whatever its status, it was definitely not an independent country with full self rule and making its own decisions.
Something curious I've noticed - some words are very similar to the Hebrew version of them... Going to Wikipedia to learn more :) Great channel, btw. The Solomon story came from the kings of Ethiopia needing a mythical story to unite all the Abrahamic religions in the kingdom Judaism Christianity and Islam
@@axumitedessalegn3549 I see you have axumite in your username. As an Ethiopian yourself, you don’t believe that Ethiopians (or Axumites) hail from king Solomon? (I’m Nigerian, I’m simply curious as to what you think and why)
the name of queen of sheba is saba and she is the daughter of the king of shewa, he gave her the land of the northern shewa, thats why the first dynasty capitals are in the north, there are many races that came from aksumite kings, ... queen of sheba - in semetic - queen of shewa
Actually, in 1961, when the Jamaican delegation of rastas went to meet his majesty, the priest of Ethiopia told his majesty, they worshipped him as God. And he said who am I to deny their faith? and there is a recording of this.
So, current head of their house is relative to Jesus, since Jesus is direct descendant from David's line. Btw did you know that God made a promise to David that his line will never end.
The notion that Ethiopia was never colonized is factually inaccurate; Italy did take some parts of Ethiopia, including what is now Eritrea, which was the central hub of the Axumite kingdom. Old Ethiopian history is the history of the Abyssinian people, not modern Ethiopian history.
(Emanation philosophy) don’t make statements that the emperor never made about HIM not being Christ go and listen carefully to the radio interview of when he said this and who he was addressing. how can you have a funeral for Haile Selassie but yet not have a body? Love your work and effort you put into this.
Did the axumite kings claim relation to solomon, or was it just the solomonic dynasty? Also wouldnʻt it be more accurate to call them abyssinians insted of ethiopians?
Abyssinia is an exonym. The emperors crowned themselves “king of kings of ethiopia”. The solomonic ideology attempted to tie the solomonic dynasty to the aksumite emperors for legitimacy (think: many historic european powers obsessively claiming ties to rome) no way of knowing if this was an actual thing, but it’s safe to assume that it... probably wasn’t.
@@hiddenhist But ethiopia comes from greek where in gree the word for ethiopia (Αιθιοπία) means land of the people with burnt faces so how could it be the original term?
Anthimos Vassiliou and why would “abyssinia”, a term that was used exclusively by europeans and with a very latin “ia” suffix, be more valid following this thought?
Anthimos Vassiliou anyway, i shouldnt be getting argumentative. People often adopt foreign terminology, brother. The Aksumites, atleast the nobility, were probably bilingual. Though Ge’ez is the “sacred language” in Ethiopia (comparable to how Catholics and even general Europeans treat/treated Latin), many aksumite inscriptions were written in ge’ez, greek, and sometimes sabean. So, greek actually does have a bit of history with Ethiopia. Further, Ethiopia has long been a “christian empire”. The bible makes multiple allusions to “Ethiopia” - King Taharqa (Tiharqa in the bible); the Queen Candace and the Eunuch, and many others. Would it not make sense to, as a theologically Christian empire who attaches themselves heavily to biblical texts, give your land the name of a biblical land?
they have found parts of David's palace in the city of David. However yes id agree, over exaggerated in Samuel and Kings. Still fighting a lot of surrounding tribes so that gives indication to how small they still were.

Other note to take is that the era of the princes started around 1769 AD after Iyoas has been killed.
Hi usefulcharts just found your Channel and am obbsessed! Would appreciate it you did a familj tree of people from Pakistan and Afghanistan. Would be interesting.
9:03 Liberia also remained independent during the Scramble for Africa.
Liberia was an American colony
@@Omegador Not during the Scramble for Africa.
@@rakdos36 ethiopia also got colonised by the italians
Cool
Thanks for your help with this! 😀Check this guy's channel out people. Lots of Ethiopian history!
Something curious I've noticed - some words are very similar to the Hebrew version of them...
Going to Wikipedia to learn more :)
Great channel, btw. I've especially enjoyed the Biblical and Jewish history ones...They don't teach you that in school, and not everyone can go to university to learn archeology... Thank you!
Truth! I’m Eritrean and speak Tigrinya and there’s a striking similarity in some Hebraic and Tigrinya words
U do realize that habesha Ethiopians are semitic speakers right ?
Ethiopia we speak semitic language that is why , the ancient language of Ethiopia geez sounds more Hebrew and Arabic
Hey could you look over the grand duchy of lithuania?? And the kings and queens if the polish lithuanian commonwealth, Including "*king*" anna
Do some native American chronicling! That would be intriguing if the data and family chronologies are available.

Narrator 02:22: "... She and Solomon had - relations! (silecnce)..." 😄
Interesting people and stories
Love African and World 's history 🏰 educated yourself, you self love 😍 it.
So the solomon stance should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm fine with that. Cuz rulers of Ethiopia are amazing to learn about.
The Solomon story came from the kings of Ethiopia needing a mythical story to unite all the Abrahamic religions in the kingdom Judaism Christianity and Islam

Most royal families have mythical origins. Japan, Denmark, France, Greece and so many more.
Your narration undermined the great sacrifice of Ethiopian patriots when Italian Occupation ended in 1941.
Actually, in 1961, when the Jamaican delegation of rastas went to meet his majesty, the priest of Ethiopia told his majesty, they worshipped him as God. And he said who am I to deny their faith? and there is a recording of this.
Let's get back the dynasty as a symbol , for amhara region , let's crown the descendants without giving them power just with respect
I’m sorry, did you say ‘War Elephants?’ // fascinating video!
Yay bonus vid
I honestly never knew Rastafarian was made up after a person. This was cool to learn.
mate Can you do the cadbury family tree chart
So, current head of their house is relative to Jesus, since Jesus is direct descendant from David's line. Btw did you know that God made a promise to David that his line will never end.
The notion that Ethiopia was never colonized is factually inaccurate; Italy did take some parts of Ethiopia, including what is now Eritrea, which was the central hub of the Axumite kingdom. Old Ethiopian history is the history of the Abyssinian people, not modern Ethiopian history.
OH my God these family ruled for a long time and years from king David to the prince Ermisa.
(Emanation philosophy) don’t make statements that the emperor never made about HIM not being Christ go and listen carefully to the radio interview of when he said this and who he was addressing. how can you have a funeral for Haile Selassie but yet not have a body? Love your work and effort you put into this.
What’s up with important people always dying in 1974/75?
9:02 Liberia was also not claimed by any colonizers in Africa.
Liberia wasn’t a country -in a true sense of the word, rather it was the US territory by resettling the free slave to there from America.
And God will give Jesus the throne of His father David...
Make one of this about Andorra
Thanks! when did the Solomonic monarchs start calling themselves "lion of Judah"?
Uk Nipsey Hussle from this family on his dad side
Nipsey like a king back there
Look at Nipsey facial features he look jus like them
Can you list books or sources you used to make this?
Did the axumite kings claim relation to solomon, or was it just the solomonic dynasty?
Also wouldnʻt it be more accurate to call them abyssinians insted of ethiopians?
Just the Solomonic dynasty.
Still fighting a lot of surrounding tribes so that gives indication to how small they still were.
still wouldn't change if queen of Sheba and Solomon did the nasty but we need to prove this.
seriously a hott black woman in front of you and you'd pass that up? i don't think even Solomon would
still need to at least see it for myself if thats the real ark.
It all depends on who you want to believe, King Hirams tomb in Lebanon is from the same time as King David , and a seal of David has been found in Jerusalem, and the Bible says King Hiram had a navy with King Solomon, watch Genesis apologetics video on 10 best archeological evidences for the Bible.

I have blood ties to one of the emperors through marriage, but non of the emperor descended from Solomon or Menelik. These are mythical figures.
U forgot the tigrayan branch of Solomon dynasty.
Which was the most interesting and powerful.
Eg emperor yohannes iv( successfully defeated egypt and england invasion)
Menilik(son of solomon.
Ezana and sayzana(first chritians)
Kaleb( colonised saudi arabia and yemen)
Negash ( accepted Mohammed decendants and built the first mosque in africa) etc..
Axumites were not just tigrayans but habeshas generally ezana referred to his land as habeshat not tigray or amhara
Only one emperor...and he spoke Amharic his official language was amharic
@@AMR_k400 u idiot the original habeshas where tigryans( agazians )
He never referred as habesha that's the name the yemenites gave their colonisers ( abesssinaians( abeshaninsa )
Amhra where created by tigryan Lords who got their army's from different ethnicities and to make the army 1 they thought them a languge similar to tigrigna and when axum ( agazi ) ( tigray ) where defeated by combined forces of hamasen , yemen , beja and persia the army exiled with the last king in last and shewa while the Kings cousins stayed in abbysinia ( tigray ) and through time amharic and tigrigna evolved to different languages but the same semetic roots.
So what I want to say is amharas are mix of kushites from the east, beja from the far north mostly hamasen from yemen, omotic from damot and some tigryan volunteers of the army to speack the same languge in order to manage so when tigray was defeated those people their families and the Kings decendants ruled Ethiopia brutally for 200 years but tigrayans gained their place again still proving we are the true axumites by making history now! Like our ancestors defeating much greater armies, Ethiopia, eritrea, djubuti, Somalia, uae and amhara militia and special forces couldn't defeat us only 5% of Ethiopia.
@@legend1808 u say that but ezana would probably disagree since he literally wrote that he defeated the people of agame the origin of tigrayans look up his inscription this is literally a fact
@@legend1808 hamasen was among the last true axumite places stop bluffing it never helped in the fall of axum infact most of its inhabitants were forced out by invading groups like bejas
Tigrayans never defeated Ethiopia,Eritrea, somalia or anybody else independently they were all under the help of Ethiopia , Eritrea or other groups
Plus where did Djibouti and uae come from lmao
