    Great video, but one serious mistake is the negligence of Emperor Tekle Giyorgis II's Solomonic lineage. He claimed direct-line descent from Emperor Iyasu the Great (Gondarine line) through his mother, Princess Aychesh Tedla, granddaughter of Ras Hailu Wand Bewossen, a direct-line descendant of Iyasu the Great. Tekle Giryorgis II's Zagwe lineage is through his father, Wagshum Gebremedhin, who was the King of Wag province and heir of the Zagwes. This makes Emperor Tekle Giyorgis II a dual dynastic Emperor, although he only reigned for three years.

    Very informative, thanks for taking the time to make this video. I also want to add that King Solomon himself in Ethiopian tradition was Ethiopian through his mother's side, wife of David, Bathsheba. Tradition also addresses David as Dawit, so he would also have to been an Ethiopian as well. Moses also had Ethiopian ancestry because the Cushite woman he married was his half sister. The temple of Solomon and David was never found in Israel. It's in Ethiopia. Archeological work has never been done there. Beyond the river of Ethiopia is were the arc of the covenant is towards south.

      In Ethiopia, a woman from the blood relative can also become the reigning empress. Also I think the best step for the Japanese government to solve the succession crisis is to revise the constitution to make it more resemble the Meiji Constitution and revoke the 1947 constitution as well revert to the 1889 Imperial Household Laws and hopefully the Ethiopian monarchy will be restored someday as the symbol of unity, peace, and culture of the people of Ethiopia.

    Ethiopian land from Yohannes IV who owned the land. King Tewodros had a rebellion against him from many of the ruling class because he was harsh with them and that's how Yohannes managed to conquer the lands, and Yohannes allowed the British forces to pass through his land under the condition that they leave after they complete their mission. Great video as usual , but as an Ethiopian, I want to make these corrections. Even if the Oromos have been living in the sultanate of Bali (also a vassal state of the Abyssinian Empire), their expansion in to Abyssinian territories began around 1522 AD during the reign of Libne Dengel (Dawit II), some 84 years before Susenyos' reign. Other note to take is that the era of the princes started around 1769 AD after Iyoas has been killed.

      Abyssinia is an exonym. The emperors crowned themselves “king of kings of ethiopia”. The solomonic ideology attempted to tie the solomonic dynasty to the aksumite emperors for legitimacy (think: many historic european powers obsessively claiming ties to rome) no way of knowing if this was an actual thing, but it’s safe to assume that it... probably wasn’t.

    • @hiddenhist
      @hiddenhist 4 года назад

      Anthimos Vassiliou and why would “abyssinia”, a term that was used exclusively by europeans and with a very latin “ia” suffix, be more valid following this thought?

    • @hiddenhist
      @hiddenhist 4 года назад

      Anthimos Vassiliou anyway, i shouldnt be getting argumentative. People often adopt foreign terminology, brother. The Aksumites, atleast the nobility, were probably bilingual. Though Ge’ez is the “sacred language” in Ethiopia (comparable to how Catholics and even general Europeans treat/treated Latin), many aksumite inscriptions were written in ge’ez, greek, and sometimes sabean. So, greek actually does have a bit of history with Ethiopia. Further, Ethiopia has long been a “christian empire”. The bible makes multiple allusions to “Ethiopia” - King Taharqa (Tiharqa in the bible); the Queen Candace and the Eunuch, and many others. Would it not make sense to, as a theologically Christian empire who attaches themselves heavily to biblical texts, give your land the name of a biblical land?
