Just got back from hiking this and you sir are an animal!!!! We camped just passed Dollar Lake and from our camp to the summit and back took us 10hrs!!!!! The hike back to the truck took 4 hours from our camp and that is what it took you to go from the parking lot to the summit!!! My hat is off to you!!
@@FoorTrek I crushed it mid Sept backpacking 150 miles of the AT, completing the northern half. The climb up my Kathadin was EPIC and very challenging with several class 3.5 sections.
too cool you met the bridge builder thanks Cole!! lots of super clear views, awesome hike! that edge near the top and all the scree wow! also loving the views across that high plateau you are hiking on, amazing terrain throughout and Wow those are some MILES!! thanks so much for all the effort of taking us with you
Thank you Joni for the lovely comment. I'm so glad you sent a message. The UP was absolutely amazing and I'm so grateful I did that trip years ago. :-)
I did the Highline Trail back in July. The trails runs the length of the Unitas closely following the ridge crest. We summited Kings Peak on are 5th day on trail. Such an incredible mountain range!! I highly recommend hiking up to oweep Basin, such an amazing spot!
@@FoorTrek Thanks for watching! Mile marker 4.5 to about 17.5 there’s no water on trail so we carried a lot water between that stretch. Unfortunately that was our warmest day on Trail. We saw a decent amount of people when we climbed Kings Peak and the last 8 miles on trail. Other than that we had the Trail to ourselves other then a few other backpackers.
Good stuff, as usual. My recommendation for Utah would be to check out the La Sal mountains near Moab. Incredibly beautiful, great camping, and is not very busy since most the attention goes to the Colodo River, Moab, and the National Parks (Canyonlands and Arches).
@@FoorTrek I didn't get to do much of any hiking due to lack of time, but some of the places I checked out were Oohwa Lake and you can take that up to Mann's Peak, the Whole Enchilada: Burro Pass and Geyser Pass. The two highest mountains are Mt Peale and My Waas. I did also help some backpackers get down from geyser pass after a derecho hit in June of 2020 and some fallen trees ruined their equipment (and near-mussre on some potentially serious injuries). They were actually going from Castle Valley and then up and over the mountains. I'm not sure of the trail they took, but it had to be very long with TONs of elevation gain for them. Easily 6,000+ by conservative estimates, since Mt Peale is 12,700' and Castle Valley is like 4,500', but I don't know if they summited any peaks. Seems like the snow is almost entirely gone by mid-May, too.
@@FoorTrekMount Peale in the La Sal Mountains, for sure. You can probably get over and do Mount Tukunikhivatz, too (sorry, the spelling may be off). Both peaks are almost 13,000 ft. Cheers
Any hikes over the winter planned? I was looking on your Instagram about your fall but I couldn't find it. Did you take it down? I love fast-running mountain streams.
Okay, I admit I'm a nit-picker. Kings is not the "tallest" mountain in Utah, just the highest. The "tallest" is probably Mt Nebo. This in the same sense that Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world, and Denali and Kilimanjaro are both taller, though not higher, than Everest.

Fun to see you in my home state after following all of your Colorado hikes
Thank you so much. I have one more big adventure coming in Utah to be posted soon ; -)
13,528 feet. Congratulations and welcome back. We missed you. 🤘
Great to hear from you Lightwalker! I hope you’re crushing it in New England!

Of all the people right? Northern Utah is absolutely beautiful and I’d imagine nearly every other hiking place would have way less people.
Just an amazing video!!! One of my favorites! Thanks
Thanks Cole! Just wait for the next two. 👍🏽
@@FoorTrek oh I can’t wait!!!
Excited to see a video from ya. I always enjoy them and go back and watch some of your older ones fairly often 👊
Thanks Greg. I'm glad all the adventures I've shared keep you going. Rock on!
Hi Brandon, nice meeting you today. Awesome collection of videos you have. See you've been to Pictured Rocks in the UP. Happy Trails, Joni
Thank you Joni for the lovely comment. I'm so glad you sent a message. The UP was absolutely amazing and I'm so grateful I did that trip years ago. :-)
Now that is a trail one must be committed to if a one day complete hike is desired. Wow, what a fete!
Thank you John. It's a long day for sure.
Good eye on that square rock! Amazing
Eye eye
Very nice video and accomplishment. Now if one could devise a usefulness for all those rocks one might be able to make a fortune....
Priceless views!
What an adventure - just dodging the rocks above tree line would have been a challenge but you are always up to it. Thanks for taking us along!!
Thanks Jim. I've got a few more adventures to share before the year is over!
The Uintas are spectacular! Even tops some of the 14ers. What a hike! Insane you can do this in one day!
Wait till you see the next two videos. :-)
Beautiful hike 😊
A wonderful spot for less people and more adventure.

I watched your video and you're right: it looks amazing! My guess is you saw few people and it also looks like enough water sources to replenish!

Just another extreme day hike for our hiking Professor.
And even more extreme coming up. Get ready!
you are awesome doc
Thank you for the kind words!
I thought that moose was Sasquatch there for a minute.
It caught me by surprise as it was so close the trail everyone uses!
dude, you''re a beast!!!!!!!
Thank you Bob!
Awesome!

I love fast-running mountain streams.
I've got two more hikes to post here on RUclips that are absolutely incredible. I do have a photo and some information about my fall on IG.
Is it 30 miles round trip? 15 miles one way? It's a great place to do a backpacking trip.
Close to 30 as the shortest distance. A fabulous place for backpacking!
@@FoorTrek Its deffiently on list and I would like to do the whole trip through Unitas, which is about 65 to 75 miles.

what time of year did ya hike?
Early September!
