Who noticed that this rare console was booted on a day of tragedy? If it was intentional to be booted on September 11th, then it really begs the question about whether or not these consoles are really worth anything. People can argue that these are just video games, but others cling onto them with their life as if it were a brother or sister. OR, it was just a stupid joke and no one should really bat an eye.

yeah thats exactly it. the famicom disk system also adds a boot screen to the NES, though i assume its more akin to the game boy's or game boy advance's boot screen in that the console doesnt actually have a bios
It would've been nice if you turn on the N64 without the cartridge, this happens. Just look what Sega Master System did if your turn on without the cartridge.

No one seems to make a full version of the USA N64DD startup. In all of the captures I've seen, all are in Japanese and the last scene with Mario is him somersaulting into the N, which bears a leaf texture. The leaf N fades back into the regular N.
Looking at it makes me wished that nintendo would've release the 64dd in the west. It looks cool and the games such as mario artist looked really cool. But oh well, at least we have emulation so we can play these games.

if the N64 were CD based we would most likely have seen this as a menu
If the N64 was CD based we would have gotten Earthbound 64 and Ura Zelda as no memory limitations would be holding the N64 back.
If the N64 was CD based, it would’ve had a slightly longer lifespan and higher quality games
it was cd based and planned to have mario 64 2 on and zelda 64 but mario 64 2 got completely scrapped and zelda 64 turned into ocarina of time
