I’ve recently remodeled my hot tub room into a winter relaxation room. I’m in the northeast and have been watching a lot of Vikings so I painted the walls glacier blue, matte black floor, added some glacier northern lights paintings, and a northern lights projector. Most relaxing thing after a long day of work.
Hi Jeff, really enjoyed this vid as I can relate to it. Firstly, though, two weeks ago I made the switch to bromine, as I was having skin rashes with the chlorine. What a difference the bromine has made! We have had our tub just over a year. Getting the tub coincided with my doctor taking me off anti-inflamatory drugs, which I'd been taking long term for a "slipped" disc that resulted in surgery. I thought I was doomed, but using the tub regularly has improved my back to a point where it is better than when I was on the drugs.
It is normal. I use bromine as well. You can also use a non chlorinated shock or buy the liquid bromine bank to add when you change your water. But I usually have to add a tiny bit of shock to activate the bromine at first.
@@bmc5015 Thanks BMC5015. It is strange the bromine I use normally seems to always read on the strips but this new batch I got from Lowes, not home depot, Clorox Spa Brominating Tablets, were not even registering until I shocked. Will the non chlorine shock activate the bromine the same way? I just re did my water yesterday after about 3 months. Good thing is I use the hot tub almost daily, about 30 minutes a night, since I keep it around 106 and my wife will use it maybe twice a week. I have a cold plunge tub next to it with just water in it don't use a chiller or ice, but I will go back and forth sometimes hot tub 15 minutes plunge 5 minutes a couple of times. I change the plunge water every week since it is small. Just got a sauna so using that some as well. Had a couple back surgeries so doing whatever I can to keep my body moving. Considering a chiller for the plunge but don't really want to get that cold.
I built a wood fire and dule solar heated spa bath in my mans cave. I don't eat healthy . Smoke cigarettes drink beer everyday. And in excellent health at age of 49 passed doctors check up. Its the 40 degree hot tubs i enjoy frequently.

Great video. She’s definitely moist and the eucalyptus helps with all the allergies in TX.
Well, this one was certainly different, and I enjoyed the information. Thank you! Will be going in my hot tub tonight!
True that! Thanks for the reminder.

Too much chlorine in the water can tint ur hair color.

This host recommends bromide instead of chlorine.
Can we do it with just a regular water without using any chemicals? Is it really necessary to add chlorine and bromine?
