Never clicked on a video so fast 😂.. love the content and so glad I came across you channel, all the best for the new year!, recently just began collecting 4K also
You might like his video he did a couple months ago about the 4k of Nightmare on Elm Street. He did side by side images of a 4k vs a non-4k. It was really good
I have all of those and I agree. It sometimes depends on my mood and time of year but any given day, every one of those 4k movies are top tier. I’m in my early 50’s now so the 70’s 80’s movies hold a special place in my heart for me.
@richardlansing He's mine too, I am super picky and Chase really helps me understand thy physical media world. I'm almost 43 and I only started collecting physical media about a month ago. Chase is the perfect person for me to follow to understand it. I didn't even know what 4k was until this past October. And I had no idea there were private boutiques that sell restored movies... outside of Criterion. I love his perspective on the Disney animated movies where he did a Tier system. Chase and Joe Bob Briggs are the only two people I've ever heard who describe the modern concept of media in a rational way. I've been saying for years that streaming is bonkers and censorship/editing is nonsense and finally I've heard only two people describe it on a common sense way, Joe Bob did a video I came across from 4 years ago talking about Blu-ray players and Chase recently talked about the LG thing. I personally think physical media is more alive now than it was 5 years ago, which is ironic because Best Buy got rid of their movies. It's simply moving to new places, like these boutiques...where I think it will be better.
@@richardlansing I sent you a reply and it disappeared. But yes, I am new to collecting physical media and I really appreciate Chase. There's so much I never knew. It's like discovering a new world I didn't know existed. 😊
Solid list Chase. I own all these in 4k except Karate Kid & Rocky which I own on Bluray. I'll probably upgrade those at some point when I catch them on sale but for now the Blurays do the job. I'v shown most of this list with my kids as part of their ongoing film education :) Most have been been hits with them.
@LanceThigpen with the right tv, the right audio setup, the right type of movie, and the right 4k transfer, it really is something special. but honestly, in many cases, the bluray is reeeeaaally close in quality, to the point where the difference is negligible. i've started to buy more blurays recently, rather than 4ks, cause theyre dirt cheap. *edit: i just realized you meant you never got into the rocky movies, not 4k's. lol. i can understand that. boxing movies aren't for everyone!
I will have them on there tomorrow! it did not save the new links in the description! thanks for mentioning it! I didnt catch that they didnt get saved!
I own a copy of all these movies, not all on 4K though. But I can agree that The Shining on 4K is a must own. I don't have a super expensive 4K TV. Just an affordable 75" Onn from Walmart, but The Shining looked immaculate even on that cheap 4K screen.
my issue with Star wars is the quality of the 4ks.... and LOTR is great but I dont feel like it has earned the spot with those others yet...it needs a few more years LOL but I love those films and I am massive star wars fan... I also dont own LOTR on 4k, so I cant evaluate it!
Fantastic list Chase! The Rocky set is my number one wish right now! I had to choose between it and The Neverending Story for Christmas. Did yours come yet man? I’m anxious to know your thoughts about it. I think it’s absolutely flawless!
@AVAPopCulture You’re welcome man and yeah, I’m 100% gonna get it as soon as I can! That sucks man! You should have a tracking number, but it’s hard to find but if you contact customer support they’ll be able to give you a tracking number and tell you if something happened to your set.
Gonna have to check out that Predator restoration. Another one i will always have on my list is White Christmas. Solid film, and the 4k looks gorgeous. It's one i've used to convert people to 4k.
Great list! I do have every one of those. Just need to get Rocky 5 & Balboa since I bought the first 4-film set. Pissed me off they didn't release inidividuals on standard, just steelbooks. I know Amazon does have them imported. Just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Predator should definitely be on this list, but how much better would it be if it had Dolby Atmos on it? Has there been any announcement for an anniversary edition with Dolby Vision and Atmos?
@@josephburke3974 Atmos is most always going to depend on the source material (check out my video on that) so I dont know...and I havent heard about anything
Nice, foundational list! Have the Rocky collection coming in the mail. Really amped to devour all 6 films in 4K. Have all of the ones in your list besides “The Karate Kid”. Have to get on that. Off of the top of my head some other 4Ks that deserve mention with the criteria of this video in mind: “Mad Max Anthology Set” “The Godfather Trilogy” “Night of the Living Dead”
I havent seen that 4k... I also dont know that the film is as cultural relevant or has the staying power or iconic status of the ones in the video...I tried to take all of that into account
I dont really care about the Cameron haters lol... Im a filmmaker, I see things very differently...Alien is a better 4k for sure but Aliens is not bad...at this point, Cameron has just upset people and they will automatically nitpick, pixel peep, and dig for things to hate on
I agree 100% , got em all. Just ordered the Blu-ray, One flew over the cuckoo’s nest. Been looking for a good price 4ever. Predator is great in 3D! The other night during your live cast, I couldn’t think of Species…not to be missed in 4K, got it?
oh wow, haha, I just got the Cuckoo's Nest bluray as well. the video quality is great, but the audio is lossy and you can tell, unfortunately. a 4K has been leaked or announced recently for some time later in 2025 though, so hopefully they upgrade the audio for that release.
@chase. Do you like the old universal monsters if so have you checked out the walmart exclusive steelbooks. They look awesome. And i hope blockbuster boxsets will do a box and slips for them
I may have to buy another copy of Predator... My disc always messes up when they infiltrate the camp. No scratches or scuffs on the disc... Gotta watch it on digital if I watch it
I agree and have most if not all of these films, lol, but i have a few more mentions that are just as important to any 4k collection if people want more suggestions Terminator 1. Absolutely amazing image, has to be seen by any 4k fan Robocop 1. The best way that film is ever going to be viewed, unrated version too Braveheart. Reference quality imo, HDR is sublime The Revenant. The fact that this film was shot in natural lighting makes it even more special with the hdr etc and this is still a reference quality 4k disk I have to mention Dog Soldiers, just behind you on the shelf there lol. One of my fav films, ive watched it hundreds of times over the years, but the 4k, wow, it was like watching it for the first time again, the image quality and the hdr, i could see things that i never could before, set pieces and props, especially in the latter part of the film when its quite dark and the cottage is getting messed up, its phenomenal, how they managed to drag that films quality into this amount of eye candy ill never know, its one of the most significant 4k upgrades of all of them for me, it changes the experienced of the film into an even better one, just wow LOTR trilogy. I dont care what anyone says, i absolutely love the 4k's, they look and sound unreal and are absolutely a must own
I like your list for the most part but I would have had to drop a few and put in a few others in their place. For sure The Godfather Trilogy needs to be in. Other strong contenders for me would have been Blade Runner, The Matrix, Titanic, Apocalypse Now & The Fugitive as far as iconic films goes that look damn good in 4K but that is what makes a top 10 list so hard.
part of the way I do it is to ask myself: "if I go ask a 15yr old , 30 year old, a 45 year old, a 60 year old, and a 75 year old if they have heard of or seen a particular movie or know a particular movie character, which ones would the most of them know?... Almost certainly, the majority would have heard of Ghostbusters, Karate Kid, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Rocky, and Rambo...you'll get a little waiver when I say The Thing, Predator, Alien, and maybe even Halloween...BUT if I say Michael Myers, Kurt Russell, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, more people will add the recognition, though those last few films could be argued, the first 6 almost certainly cant (under that criteria I go by)... you would get more confused looks if I ask those same age ranges about Apocalypse Now, The Fugitive, and Blade Runner... The Matrix and Titanic will be more age dependent too... anyway, that is how I go about it and take at least some of my own tastes out of it....
Own all of these except the three horror movies and Rocky. I’m working on getting the individual steelbooks of the Rocky films. I hate box sets because of the lack of protection with the discs. Plus when I pull a movie off my shelf I like to admire the case artwork. So individuals is the way I roll from now on. Also I’m not a big horror guy, but one day down the road I will at least get the iconic ones. For Halloween viewings.
the older horror movies like Halloween are classics and tame by todays standards! you are safe tip-toeing in with those lol... As far as the Rocky set, I hate those stacked cases....I will be buying the individual cases and box set that blockbusterboxsets puts out to split them apart
Great list! Thank you!! I know you get this question often, but can you let us know about your custom slipcover sources as you flash these movies? Thanks again!
hey! the paper ones I either made myself or awesome channel subscribers have sent me...the hard full slip cases are from @BlockbusterBoxsets ...you can find him here on youtube and he has a website
@@AVAPopCulture is that specifically where you got the Indiana Jones box? Also, to that set, which versions/releases did you put in there? Thanks again for the reply and for the always-entertaining and informative content!
I have many of them, but not all. In fact, I don't agree with the premise. People have different tastes, so if they don't like a movie, why should they have it in their collection? In my case, I do like many movies that I don't have in my collection. The Back to the Future movies is one example. Have seen the original a few times, but I just don't have any interest in continuing to watch it, so I got rid of it. I'm kind of a non-traditional collector though. I don't have any of the Vacation films (in fact I've never seen any of them all the way through). I have no superhero films other than Deadpool, I have never seen a Harry Potter movie, or Lord of the Rings. My tastes are heavily slanted towards classics/silents/sci-fi, some horror, and foreign films.
you're going way too deep and you make my point at the end...there are exceptions to every rule but the vast majority of people understnad the importance, staying power, iconic nature, cultural relevance etc of the films on this list and the excellent quality of the 4ks... IF you are going to be a serious "collector" of films and not just a movie fan who is buying only their favorites, these are foundational picks to a collection, I stand by that statement... from what you are telling me, you are in the extremely tiny minority of movie watchers and certainly the tiniest minority of "collectors" and that is fine, but I cant make lists that can take in every possible individual taste...it has to involve my tastes and the majority at large!
Yes! Agree with most of your picks, I have them too. Transfer of BTTF on 4k to me is same as blu-ray. I would’ve added Dirty Harry collection, but that’s not 4k. Done rambling I’m painting my living room.
Chase's Essential TARGETS! These are my foundation of ever movie/4k collection...I consider these the "Basics" and must own for any fan or collector! What would be a good show-off video for a new 4K TV or projector? How about your favorite movie with a good audio track to show off or test a sound system?
movies to show off the system would be: Killer Klowns from Outer Space The Thing The Searchers Matinee Conan The Barbarian Trick r Treat The Revenant Jaws The Wizard of OZ for Audio, Twister and I am told Pitch Black and Saving Private Ryan (though I do not have those so I cannot confirm)
Even though most of these 4K UHD Blu-rays do not offer DTS:X nor Dolby Atmos if your AVR can upmix, all these movies sound great when doing so...At least on my setup.
I do love Predator, Predator 2, AvP, Predators and The Predator. I love Alien, Aliens and even Alien: Resurrection. Aliens is my favourite. The Shining is an excellent film but I can't cope with it due to some of the scenes.
Nice! I have most all of them in DVD and Blu-ray. I'm actually looking to update my movies. I had watched the Blood Vessel WW2 vampire movie on RUclips, brother that movie was awesome! I'm looking to purchase the movie from Amazon here real soon.
oh, the list could be a lot longer but you will be hard pressed to find people havent heard of these films whether they are 15 years old or 70 years old and that is part of it
What about Jurassic Park or The Revenant? You basically share the same films in every one of your Top lists. The title should read “top 4Ks in my collection” because there are way better 4K references than what you mentioned.
LOL I have hardly spoken about any of these films in a long while and I do a video every day... I also recently just had The Revenant in a couple of different lists....and NO, those 2 4ks are not way better 4ks...and since you chose to listen to respond rather than "hear", the quality of the 4k restoration was only part of the criteria...and about half of The Revenant was shot with digital so it doesnt qualify...digitally shot stuff should always look great and even its film elements didnt have to go through a film restoration process because 4k delivery in theaters already existed and was about to be mass delivered to the home market when the movie was made...not the same
Fun list! Though I will hide my face in shame. I do not own The Karate Kid and the Rocky movies…yet… But hey! You misplaced The Thing! It is the movie of movies! Lol About stephen Kings dislike of Kubriks The Shining is that the book was written when King had alcohol problems and drank way too much. The book is a metaphore in that sense that the hotel is the disease. The desolate place is how you isolate yourself from others except the closest family that sees and has to live with the outbursts of rage and fear of what comes next. King felt Kubrik missed the message of addiction and turned it into just a haunted house story with demonic posession. Was a really tough time in Kings life and thereby a sensitive matter for him personally. Love the book! Love the film! Cheers!
Wow, thank you for this information! I didn't know this but it makes sense regarding isolation and that big hotel!! I'm now going to rent this today, and even more fitting there's a huge snow storm right now! Perfect timing. Thanks. 👍
I just rented The Shining on my TV, and it took the payment but it says I can't watch it because my TV isn't 4k. That's the very first time that's ever happened. Crazy.
SHAME!!! lol The Karate Kid and Rocky are MUSTS! I love the book and the film too... King always famously said "the book was hot and the movie was cold" ...I dont know that I agree with that...but then again, he thinks Maximum Overdrive is horrible and I love it too lol
@ and who (made who?) directed that masterpiece? Hehe. Also love Maximum Overdrive. The short story ”Trucks” that it was based on was fun too. Think that was the title. Would like a film based on his story ”Road Rage” too. King is a fantastic writer. I have read almost all he has done. Read or seen Doctor Sleep?
Wow, I have mostly all of those movies, the only ones I still have to get, I put them off because they’ve been so expensive are the Rockies. I am on board with you with the Indiana Jones movies, I just am not a big fan of any of your home, but there is something special about the last Crusade for me only because of Sean Connery And Harrison Ford chemistry is so entertaining other than that I sat down to watch the dial of destiny and seriously cannot see too much of a difference between Raiders and temple so yeah I guess I really just don’t like those type of movies in general, national treasure was like the biggest Indiana Jones yuck Best up like the early 2000s. I also still have to get the karate kid, as when I was growing up I was more of a fan of part two but found myself getting more attracted to the first one as I got older in the 90s. As for everything else, I hold the ball, all fantastic movies, all oh one more thing, that sweep the leg comment always reminds me of that Family Guy episode where Stewie says in his English accent, sweep the lake, so yeah every time I hear that now it’s just think of Family Guy. 24:55 visual masterpieces, and certain movies I must own on Blu-ray UHD only because universal has a habit which I do love, a putting their movies in DTSX, which is a super plus for me, from the thing, born identity, the first Hulk movie that came out in 2003 and Jurassic Park, at least most of their movies do contain DTSX depending on how big the production is and I’m assuming that’s why the back to the futures got a Atmos instead of their standard DTSX, on certain movies though it’s just phenomenal. Jurassic Park should not be watched online, that DTS extract is Next level.
A lot depends on your musical taste, wouldn’t you say? I mean, I think The Last Waltz, or Stop Making Sense are great, but only if you like the music. They both have 4K releases.
I had a feeling Jaws will be on the list. I have the blu ray steelbook at home, which is based on the same 4k restauration as the 4K, and the blu ray looks 99% as good as the 4K. I've rented the physical copy of the 4K from Jaws and the difference isn't that noticeable. Both the Blu Ray and the 4K look awesome, since they are based on the new, restored 4K Master.
Great list! No arguments! I would have liked to see the LOTR franchise on here as an honorable mention... I know they are a little controversial, but on a good set-up they are nothing short of amazing in terms of the detail you get to see vs the blus or the dvds.
Don’t say you’re a writer if the only word you can say about every one of these is “iconic”. I mean, “historic”, “groundbreaking”, “classic”, and other thesaurus entries would be a welcome change. Seriously, it would be outlawed as a drinking game to take a shot every time you said “iconic”, because it would lead to alcohol poisoning. Anyway, I think your picks reflect a heavy bias for when you were growing up. I mean, you really want us to get The Karate Kid, but don’t mention Hitchcock? Seriously? No Dirty Harry or Quentin Tarantino, or Universal monsters, or even, given your bias toward blockbusters with a lot of sequels, Jurassic Park? But, it’s your channel and your list, so knock yourself out.
LOL I'll tell you what, you tell me how many scripts you've had made into movies and how many times you've been published... I bet you I win... I am speaking here without a script off the top of my head about movies.. let's see you do that...my resume is online at IMDB and you can find my published works on Amazon...where can I find yours? And it is pretty funny to call it a bias when most of those films are standing the test of time 40+ years later with more movies made and more public recognition...go ask a 15 year old if they have heard of Ghostbusters, Karate Kid, Indiana Jones etc then go ask if they have heard of Dirty Harry...but btw Dirty Harry hasnt even been released on 4k which, you know, is a big part of this...maybe listen to HEAR rather than respond...the door is over there
btw historic and iconic do not mean the same thing .... groundbreaking isnt an appropriate adjective for all of these... Indy for instance is basically a modern retelling of older "serials"... "classic" is easily misconstrued when talking movies because people often associate "classic" with all older black and white films...again, listen to hear and understand rather than respond with arrogance
Can we debate “The Shining”. I will never say Kubrick’s film is bad, but can we please give the 1997 tv movie its flowers and admit at least it followed the source material.
well, in fairness, I am, like most, evaluating the movie itself rather than how it sticks with the book... I love the book and all Stephen King's classic books but he struggles with endings in my opinion
I was raised on Kubrick’s vision, so I am biased. I am not in the entertainment industry and, thus, have no informed opinion other than to say this film feels “perfect.” I can understand King’s dislike for the adaptation. I agree the series is more faithful to the source material. I am a huge fan of Stephen Webber and have loved DeMornay since “Risky Business.” I just think Nicholson, Duvall and Crothers are iconic in this film. I do wish the tv versions of all of King’s adaptations and original works like “Rose Res” would get released on Blu-ray at least. They did recently release the tv Shining adaptation on Blu-ray. Here’s hoping for “Rose Red”, “IT”, and “Storm of the Century”!
@@LanceThigpen 100% agree! and feel the same... I also agree we need all of the movies on bluray at least! They did release a steelbook bluray of the original IT! I think Gruv has it for about $15
I'm sure I'm about to get plenty of hate replies from this but here it goes... The Shining is a good film overall, but it's also one of the most overrated films of all time.
that is your opinion...and everyone is entitled to their opinion...but from a factual and technical standpoint, you are incorrect when it comes to quality... I could say anything you want to buy is not worth it, that is subjective...the quality is not
Ever heard of a sale? I won't buy 4k at the listed regular price of $40+ CAD. But if it drops to $15-20, absolutely. Especially if it comes with a blu ray as well.

Predator should definitely be on this list, but how much better would it be if it had Dolby Atmos on it? Has there been any announcement for an anniversary edition with Dolby Vision and Atmos?
@josephburke3974 I don't know
@@josephburke3974 Atmos is most always going to depend on the source material (check out my video on that) so I dont know...and I havent heard about anything
Nice, foundational list! Have the Rocky collection coming in the mail. Really amped to devour all 6 films in 4K. Have all of the ones in your list besides “The Karate Kid”. Have to get on that. Off of the top of my head some other 4Ks that deserve mention with the criteria of this video in mind:
“Mad Max Anthology Set”
“The Godfather Trilogy”
“Night of the Living Dead”
thanks! you may see one or 2 of those on another list I have coming soon!
Guns of Naverone. 4k. Great tranfer. Great job.
I havent seen that 4k... I also dont know that the film is as cultural relevant or has the staying power or iconic status of the ones in the video...I tried to take all of that into account
I think a lot of people would disagree with you about adding aliens on 4K
I dont really care about the Cameron haters lol... Im a filmmaker, I see things very differently...Alien is a better 4k for sure but Aliens is not bad...at this point, Cameron has just upset people and they will automatically nitpick, pixel peep, and dig for things to hate on
I thought it was fine
@@AVAPopCulture Personally, I loved the Aliens 4K. I think it looks amazing.
@@stickywicked447 I agree! I dont see the issue with it
The Aliens 4k is one of the best. The hate is so overblown.
I’ve got all the ‘Indiana…….’ In 4k Steelbook Boxset but I almost want to buy a Boxset like yours. Otherwise your choices are very good. Nice video.
@chase. Do you like the old universal monsters if so have you checked out the walmart exclusive steelbooks. They look awesome. And i hope blockbuster boxsets will do a box and slips for them
That sounds cool 👍
I may have to buy another copy of Predator... My disc always messes up when they infiltrate the camp. No scratches or scuffs on the disc... Gotta watch it on digital if I watch it
I agree and have most if not all of these films, lol, but i have a few more mentions that are just as important to any 4k collection if people want more suggestions
Terminator 1. Absolutely amazing image, has to be seen by any 4k fan
Robocop 1. The best way that film is ever going to be viewed, unrated version too
Braveheart. Reference quality imo, HDR is sublime
The Revenant. The fact that this film was shot in natural lighting makes it even more special with the hdr etc and this is still a reference quality 4k disk
I have to mention Dog Soldiers, just behind you on the shelf there lol. One of my fav films, ive watched it hundreds of times over the years, but the 4k, wow, it was like watching it for the first time again, the image quality and the hdr, i could see things that i never could before, set pieces and props, especially in the latter part of the film when its quite dark and the cottage is getting messed up, its phenomenal, how they managed to drag that films quality into this amount of eye candy ill never know, its one of the most significant 4k upgrades of all of them for me, it changes the experienced of the film into an even better one, just wow
LOTR trilogy. I dont care what anyone says, i absolutely love the 4k's, they look and sound unreal and are absolutely a must own
Is this top10 based on image quality? Or movie quality?
everything...quality of the 4k, the iconic status of the film etc etc
Solid list I absolutely love all these movies @@AVAPopCulture
And wasn't the U.S.S. Indy speech written by Robert Shaw (Quint)?
Great list!
Hi Chase! Great list. Where do you get your custom slips from?
the paper slips mostly either I made or someone made and sent me...the hard slips and custom boxsets all come from @BlockbusterBoxsets
Hey Chase today I received Terrifer 3 4K dang man it definitely delivered with gore! There are several other 4K movies that arrived today. Jan 6, 2025

What would be a good show-off video for a new 4K TV or projector? How about your favorite movie with a good audio track to show off or test a sound system?
movies to show off the system would be:
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
The Thing
The Searchers
Matinee
Conan The Barbarian
Trick r Treat
The Revenant
Jaws
The Wizard of OZ
for Audio, Twister and I am told Pitch Black and Saving Private Ryan (though I do not have those so I cannot confirm)
Even though most of these 4K UHD Blu-rays do not offer DTS:X nor Dolby Atmos if your AVR can upmix, all these movies sound great when doing so...At least on my setup.
Every time I see BTTF in the store I want to buy it again. They look great and so many extras I still haven’t watched them all
I do love Predator, Predator 2, AvP, Predators and The Predator.
I love Alien, Aliens and even Alien: Resurrection. Aliens is my favourite.
The Shining is an excellent film but I can't cope with it due to some of the scenes.

@AVAPopCulture welcome
Awesome list! I got 11 out of 12 on this list. You won’t believe which one I am missing… guess :)
are you missing Rocky???? lol
@@AVAPopCulture close but it’s Indiana Jones, never got into it. I have seen every Rambo. Use to pretend play as him as a kid.
Nice! I have most all of them in DVD and Blu-ray. I'm actually looking to update my movies. I had watched the Blood Vessel WW2 vampire movie on RUclips, brother that movie was awesome! I'm looking to purchase the movie from Amazon here real soon.
I am moving towards upgrading and consolidating movies this year for sure too!
Good choices. I think 🤔 depending on who you talk to it could change and or be a LOT LONGER. 😁
oh, the list could be a lot longer but you will be hard pressed to find people havent heard of these films whether they are 15 years old or 70 years old and that is part of it
@AVAPopCulture So true. If they haven't seen or heard of these movies they need to buy or stream immediately. These are all winners 👍
Jones don’t have the same feel in 4 k but crusade is the best and I do like skulls
I do not own The Karate Kid and the Rocky movies…yet…
But hey! You misplaced The Thing! It is the movie of movies! Lol
About stephen Kings dislike of Kubriks The Shining is that the book was written when King had alcohol problems and drank way too much.
Read or seen Doctor Sleep?
looks like I'm not a real collectors 😂I only own 4 4Ks on your list haha
@chase. You see there is a new karate kid movie comming out
I did see that!
@@AVAPopCulture jackie chan in a karate kid movie is pretty cool
Are any of these releases iconic?
are any of your comments worthwhile?
Agree I need to get predator in my collection classic
a classic one!
@AVAPopCulture definitely
I only had 9 of the 12….what a loser I am!
You forgot Interstellar and dune part 2.
those are not iconic films with a wide range of appeal or decades of cultural relevance
Any ,
4K live concerts?
A lot depends on your musical taste, wouldn’t you say? I mean, I think The Last Waltz, or Stop Making Sense are great, but only if you like the music. They both have 4K releases.
I must have good taste, as I have them all
I had a feeling Jaws will be on the list.
Im tired of hearing people talk about Jaw lol 🖐me over here 😂
@thelastmoviestanding yeah I know...but the fact remains it is a great 4k and one of the most iconic and recognizable films out there lol
A11 work and no play...
Great list! No arguments! I would have liked to see the LOTR franchise on here as an honorable mention... I know they are a little controversial, but on a good set-up they are nothing short of amazing in terms of the detail you get to see vs the blus or the dvds.
I will also add The Godfather trilogy.
Love the channel. Your Stephen King statement about him being "WRONG" is ridiculous. Obviously its YOUR opinion, but a dumb ass thing to say.
The 1997 miniseries is garbage
I was raised on Kubrick’s vision, so I am biased. I am not in the entertainment industry and, thus, have no informed opinion other than to say this film feels “perfect.”
I can understand King’s dislike for the adaptation. I agree the series is more faithful to the source material. I am a huge fan of Stephen Webber and have loved DeMornay since “Risky Business.”
I just think Nicholson, Duvall and Crothers are iconic in this film.
Do I think it is Overrated? No.... Overhyped sometimes? Possibly...
No "hate" replies like you probably want, but name a better Winter Horror film than The Thing or The Shining.
I agree, and I also thank it drags on to the point of BORDEM...
The Shining sucks!! It is N-O-T-H-I-N-G like the book. What Kubrick did to Stephen King was disrespectful AF!! I hate Kubrick because if it
I don't ever care about what people say is "overrated." I like what I like. I like The Shining.
People do not get suckered into buying 4k with the ridiculous prices not worth it
that is your opinion...and everyone is entitled to their opinion...but from a factual and technical standpoint, you are incorrect when it comes to quality... I could say anything you want to buy is not worth it, that is subjective...the quality is not
Ever heard of a sale? I won't buy 4k at the listed regular price of $40+ CAD. But if it drops to $15-20, absolutely. Especially if it comes with a blu ray as well.
The way you feel about Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is exactly how I feel about Jaws 2. If I could have only one Jaws film it would be Jaws 2.
Is Alien 3 any good? I saw one of my favorite directors did 3 and I might watch it. I love his films
@benbelzer8303 Some people liked Alien 3, and some didn't. Just like any other movie, you'll have to see it, to determine if you like it or not.
@@benbelzer8303it's slow and rehashed a lot of the original. It also removed favorite characters from the second movie.
