I'm trying to learn SketchUp after many many years of being a "2D guy", starting in the drawing office designing machine components with Hi-Polymer pencils and Rotring Ink on "film" in the 80's. Then using Drafix in the early '90s (my first computer-based drawing program) then Autsketch and AutoCad Lite. Going 3D is proving to be a real challenge as pretty much every term/function/command is different. Big thanks to you for your "Beginner SketchUp Tutorials" which are really helping me through as I'm sure I'd have given up before now if I had not followed them. Well done, keep up the great content.
The assets in 3D Warehouse are an awesome resource no matter what software you use. Great to see multiple examples of how people set up (or don't) their files.
I love the 3D warehouse option, especially for selecting furniture models to go into an interior renderings/models. There’s so many varieties to choose from. Thank you! 👍🏽
It would be good to see how you add models into a room. I've been trying to add models, but can't get them lined up in the right place. They always end up in mid air etc!

I will alter the models in the sketchup software and then render the 2 imagine that will be directly used as background and I will draw the characters and lighting over it. Will I have any copyright issue? Timble's terms of use weren't specific about this. Please help me.
Justin - why are some models in the 3d warehouse actually only 2D? I've brought some components into my model only to find out they're 2D, with the face always facing you as you rotate around it. And is there a way to limit your search results to only actual 3D components?

lot of good comments for you....as should be....working with models in the online version gets a little 'finicky'....and can be difficult to 'control' and place them...i'm sure others would enjoy, as i a bit more guidance on how to get them positioned a little more quickly....have you done a tutorial on terrain....i'm trying to get a 1 acre sloping top to bottom piece of land positioned to design the house....if you have a tutorial or advice on that i'd be mighty grateful.
Hy I am using SketchUp 2021... this technique of directly downloading models from 3d warehouse is not working for me … as its showing only downloading and not anything else .. what should I do?
hi Justin, I met some problem with SketchUp Vray render.. which my final render doesn't show much contrast between the sun light and shadow. The sun lighting just too soft and it kinda fill the whole area up. I've tried the size multiplier of the sunlight but it doesn't help, is there any check boxes should be on or anything else...can you help me, please? Btw the shadow checkbox is always on under the sunlight setting options.
Justin, your videos are the BEST! Question for you though regarding downloading an object from the 3D Warehouse straight into your model. When trying to save my model at one point, I got a 'Validity Check Error' message with an 'entity address' saying it was 'invalid and/or 'destroyed.' Are you familiar with this or have you ever heard of it happening before? After doing some Googling, I came across a Sketchup thread where one commenter said in order to avoid this, you should download the object from the warehouse into a brand new model, and basically "inspect the component for problems." I'd love to hear your expertise on this... Best Regards.

In Sketchup, when moving a group, using the move tool, how do you stop the automatic copy feature? If you move an object several times, you will get several unwanted copies of it. Please give me the right answer on how to fix this very annoying feature. Thank you very much for your time, and knowledge.
i have used sketchup quite a bit making accurate drawings. then all the sudden it isn't allowing me to type in measurements. i must have changed something, flipped some switch. have any ideas.
Now that Sketchup only supports the last 2 years of models it would be good if community built a resource for all the previous years models. There are no where near the amount and variety of models that there used to be.
hi.. 3d warehouse not opening from sketchup as well as google chrome. it wa working fine few days ago.. i reinstalled sketchup as well as chrome browser..still warehouse is not loading.. is there any solution win 7 sketchup 2018
I'm not sure there's a rendering program compatible with the free version right now. Theoretically if you could find a renderer that operates outside of SketchUp, you could import models you've created in the free version into that
It's Sept of 2020... Do you know where all the models went that were on the 3D warehouse? I can't find models I currently have that I searched for on the 3d warehouse... Is this now a paid subscription? for instance... Florence cluster mailboxes or CBU I can't find and I have a few of their models in some of my drawings from searching the 3D in the past... any advice would be a great help... Thanks

Somehow I've lost my ability to get things from the 3D warehouse. When I click the download arrow it wants me to sign in, but when I click on the sign in button, it doesn't do anything.

But you can Change shape or other details at the object from the 3d warehouse?

As far as I know, they haven't removed any models from the Warehouse, and access to the Warehouse is still free

You could probably download the model from the free version and find a renderer that imports SKP files
