Thank you *VERY, VERY MUCH.* These basic things really accelerated my learning curve tremendously! I basically started last week and now have already completed the simple floating shelf for my hi-fi components. With rounded, routed doors - once I went back to 2-D and getting the shape right before pulling it was an absolute breeze!!!
    Most helpful concepts:
    1. Mouse control - clicking and leaving the item.
    2. Grabbing the edge or corner.
    3. Using the press of scroll wheel to orbit.
    4. Activating the hand tool whilst doing all other things.

To group stuff was the best tip for me. I often made sticky things, that was not meant to be sticky. Pushed 'Undo' several times and started over. So I am going to pay more attention to grouping and two other things covered in other videos here: layers and components. Thank you for some great tutorials.

Really clear instructions and great voice to listen to. The thing I found most helpful which I haven't done whilst self teaching/tutorial surfing.... Was grouping things! I always ended up dragging walls around with furniture before and thus helps so much thanks! Also the 3 button mouse tricks! Before it always annoyed me that I had to go back to the side bar to select each different move tool but you helped me a lot! Thank-you!

I always forget not to click and hold, but just to click, release, etc. This was a good reminder. And I never knew that clicking on the scroll wheel turned on the orbit tool! That is going to save me a ton of time! Thanks!

Many thanks - the first tip was the best in my view - starting in 2D, along with the grouping tip.

Not holding down the mouse and dragging was the most useful for me. Just felt great after learning that. Thank you

I was surprised that all other tutorials begin in 3D so was delighted to discover this begins recommending learning in 2 that I believe is a fundamentally better approach to design.

Really greatfull about the scroll mouse tip, man! I spent so much time switching between navigation tools, meanwhile you do it all with scroll wheel + shift.

Already helpful in planning to start self guided instruction - dug out my old 3 button Logitech mouse and it still works. That alone is probably going to be a golden nugget as I am on a Mac and would have started either on the track pad or with the magic mouse.

Interesting tip on the mouse. I myself use a track ball with 4 buttons (bottom two I can program for quick keys or modifier keys), side scroll, and obviously the ball when using orbit is amazing. Way better than the mouse you recommend but also pricey and slowly getting harder to find. I come from "Audio Engineer" background and now use Sketchup to design world class recording studios so I have to be lighting fast.
