You should watch the music video to this. For your time. It is so funny! In an interview they asked if he liked acting he said yes. He was in a movie playing a guitar player. I can't remember the name of it! Have you notice Stevie isn't center on the stage? He said it's not just him it's Chris,Tommy, and Reese up there. Such a wonderful human being. Have you watched Life Without You Capitol Theater? That shows you the man Stevie was. Thanks for keeping his music alive! Love you Stevie your music lives on! 🙏 RIP
Stevie's versatility was out of this world! Check out "Riviera Paradise" from this same show! Reese is also killing it on keyboards too! Watching the band perform this always brings a tear to my eye. God bless Double Trouble and R.I.P. Stevie.
Stevie Ray delivered every single time. The man never played a bad song. Can you imagine possessing the talent of any one of those guys up on that stage? And when you put them all together, we got magic like this. It's wonderful to know that his band members are still playing beautiful music, but it sucks really bad that Stevie Ray isn't here to play it with them.
I was lucky enough to see Stevie in Seattle when he opened for Ray Charles. Didn't know him but he blew us away and we were covered in sweat from dancing and watching him go crazy with his guitar and band was so frickin awesome. Had tickets for his upcoming concert but SRV past before we had the chance. Still miss his presence. ❤️
Paradoxically I get so joyous/ melancholy seeing this entire ACL performance of Sober Stevie & the wave of musicality that surges out. Knowing what's coming. Hard.
I love your enthusiasm!!! Its infectious as is Stevie I knew Stevie as a musician in ATX. I'm 63 and miss him everyday!!!! What you said about him right now so true! Most humble soul roo. And talk about respect for his heros. Check him out with Albery King on a PBS recording they did. About 90 min. Stevie never steps on musicians or; look, I'm out playing him or whatever. It's about playing "together" and of course honoring your influence and Albert King was one of many of Stevies influences. I could go on for years with Stevie stories... Love your channel. Just found you and subscribed. Thank you for this..I'm crying and happy at the same time! RIP brother Stevie 🙏❤🙏 Yes; double trouble, Chris, Tommy, Reece all incredible!
Stevie Ray Vaughan is simply the greatest, but Reese was a man possessed on those keyboards! Fantastic performance of a SRV favorite and another great reaction, Chod.
Stevie's band mates, Double Trouble, were in a band called Storyville after Stevie passed. You shoukd check out their best song "Good Day For The Blues".
Chod, you can get a better look at Chris Layton's drum kit in "Couldn't Stand the Weather" from this same Austin show. Each band member does a little solo & the song simply rocks your socks off. A little funky, a little jazzy, just superb.💙
DAMN that was great, one of my favorite SRV numbers, saw him live twice and feel blessed that I had the chance, ill never forget seeing the man doing his thing in person. RIP SRV, We love you and will always miss you, and lets hear it for the band double trouble, one of the best bands in the business.
Chod, I have to tell you that I just saw another reactor react to SRV and the video was LOVE STRUCK / RUDE MOOD 3-25-87. I had never seen this performance as I was blown away by his performance. I plead with you to check this performance and react to it. You will be happy you did. I really hope you do.
It seems to watch Stevie after Reese came along it’s like he was having more fun? Maybe I’m just having fun watching and listening. But Reese Wynans is a force on his own! Seen him with Banamassa a few times. Special musician
Incredible reaction, from the heart for sure. SRV, not only the GREATEST Blues/Rock Guitarist off all time, but also an ice cool and humble Dude, his voice is incredible too, that's not mentioned enough! A one off Stevie that's for sure, I know i''ll never see talent like this again in my lifetime, so sorely missed Brother x
Love the content. His Austin City Limits 1989 performance is one of his greatest performances tbh. A little FYI the song “coldshot” is actually the song “Pride & Joy” slowed down. Should react to Stevie and Jimmy Vaughan “Pipeline” you would love it.
You might want to check out Arc Angels, particularly "Living in a Dream", "See What Tomorrow Brings" or "Shape I'm In". All from their only studio album. The band is Stevie Ray's rhythm section Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton (aka Double Trouble) joined by Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton on guitars and vocals. The whole album is great. Doesn't fill the void after Stevie's tragic death, but shows the guys keeping that Texas version of blues-based rock alive and well. Would love to hear your reaction. I'm glad I came across your channel. Been binging on it for the past few days. Keep up the fine content!
They were going into “Couldn’t Stand the Weather” before the video ended. If you have not heard that song you need to DEFINITELY check out that song from this same concert. 👍🔥SRV
Reese is a bad ass. Most people do not know that Reese was the original keyboard for the band that would become the Allman Brothers. When Gregg joined Reese was out.
Hard to believe but the was getting so much better as a musician at this point. Rounding out his sound and really becoming a better guitar player. This first musician's death that truly punched me in the gut.
🙌👏‼️great reaction and thanks for bringing it back to SRV. You are right about the togetherness of this Band of Brothers. They were great friends and very close. Stevie always insisted from the beginning that the fees for their performances be spilt evenly even though that wasn't done. He didn't care he wouldn't have it any other way.
💗 💖 💘 💝 💟 ☮️!!!!!! I have to say... I am SO looking forward to your reaction!!!!!!!!!!!! "Cold Shot" is one of my very favorites!!! And I love it when you react to SRV... period!! (P.S. If you ever get the chance... please check out the "Cold Shot" official video!!!!!!!!! It's hilarious & awesome!!!) (Awww... when he started the intro to "Couldn't Stand the Weather" I was hoping it would continue... but nope...)
The video for this was my introduction to SRV. There was a show on PBS called “Color Sounds” that showed music videos with lyrics. They would highlight different parts of speech; noun, verb, adjective, etc. I was 14 when this came out.
Continue through Couldnt Stand The Weather which was the into at the end of this video. He let reese go on that as well but when he returned the solo...yeah. always goosebumps even 30 years later. He was the best I've ever seen.
I would like to suggest a band to you. They are a Canadian band, the lead singer died a few years ago from cancer and it was a sad day for us, but the band took it in style, one last big tour. They would always sell out the biggest venues within minutes of announcing a tour, the Tragically Hip, if you want a song by them then New Orleans Is Sinking is one of my favorites, but they had a lot of good songs
I got to see him just a few months before he sadly passed, he was promoting the In Setp album and splittin shows with Jeff Beck- another legend (who had Terry Bozzio on drums), ive seen some amazing shows, but nothin compares to that night
Anyone else give their left nut to go back in time and be in the audience for either this 1989 show or the 1983 one that he put on for Austin City Limits?
...and the cool thing is that he will be giving listeners the same reason to smile for all eternity! I agree, Reece is the best, simple. He’s our Jon Lord!
You do know that Reese was/is an Allman Brothers Band member, right? When Duane Allman and Dickey Betts put the band together Reese was the keyboardist. They needed a vocalist and Duane called his little brother, who was also keyboardist, and Reese was squeezed out. He came back after Gregg Allman’s death and played the Allman Brothers Band’s 50th Anniversary show last year. He also released his first solo record in 2019. ruclips.net/p/PLRtN5Q9WQIhu3v8MQRkFmyE2dndyIwpec
This shite is smooth and together, not the wild crazy man who was actually falling apart inside he was so sensitive and felt so much so strongly...a beautiful human
Another great reaction, thank you! Love to see you do some more Gary Moore reactions, please! Below is a link to Texas Strut Live. ruclips.net/video/Whyj6KYXgDQ/видео.html Gary really enjoying himself and of course playing some brilliant guitar. He also mentions Stevie Ray Vaughan in the song. Please check it out. Many thanks and regards from England.
That's the first SRV song I ever heard. I knew right away he was gonna be famous. Of course he was already pretty darned famous. You should listen to Dirty Pool. He used his voice as well as he used his guitar.
SRV is always a classic. You may have reacted to "Loan Me A Dime" before with Boz Skaggs and Duane Allman, but you need to see the video from around 1985. It is about 15 minutes long, but it is a pure modern blues classic. (5696) Loan Me A Dime Boz Scaggs - RUclips
The thumbnail seemed to be from the official music video. You should've reviewed the music video... which is hilarious... a spoof on SRV's guitar obsession... all done to the studio track. Love the live performances, but I think a reaction to one of their well-done music videos would really be appreciated. Recommend the ones for "Superstition," "The House Is Rockin'," and "Couldn't Stand The Weather," for examples.
The best ever. Jimi after him. There hasn't been anyone better or even as good as those two. Santana and Elvin Bishop are really good as well but not like Stevie Ray. I don't think there will ever be anyone as good.
I would definitely rate Jimi first, his understudy, as great as he was, somewhat after. I saw SRV live four times. I consider myself privileged to have had the experience!
@@obbor4 Never had the privilege of seeing him. I agree Jimi first. I'm sure you heard Jimi do Little Wing at the Cafe Au Go Go. That was a very good jam by Jimi. Elvin Bishop Buddy Miles on drums Herbie Rich on the Organ and Paul Butterfield. Everything is Gonna Be Alright and Three Little Bears also and Stormy Monday at this Jam is also excellent playing by Jimi.
The video is sooo Goofy, it’s what makes it cool. 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Not this performance, they had a video on MTV for this tune! ‘This preformed is surgical...take it Reese! And he did!
Brother, you sure are so right! SRV was a "Master Wonderful Bluesman"! We miss him beyond word's 🙏❤️
You should watch the music video to this. For your time. It is so funny! In an interview they asked if he liked acting he said yes. He was in a movie playing a guitar player. 🤠 This is that quintessential "Texas Shuffle" rhythm and beat that Stevie played to perfection! 🎸👍🎵🎶🎼
Stevie's guitar brought us back to the rockin' blues from the darkness of machine music disco in the 80s.
Smooth as butter, liken to no other! SRV never fails to deliver which is why he holds my #1 spot in my personal all time favorite top 10 list.
Stevie Ray delivered every single time. The man never played a bad song. Can you imagine possessing the talent of any one of those guys up on that stage? And when you put them all together, we got magic like this. I was there too! I’m from Burien Wa.
SRV WAS SPECTACULAR ... NOT SOON/EVER TO BE REPLACED ... NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN
Must check out “Riviera Paradise” beautiful beautiful song, it’s completely an instrumental and next to Life without you it’s my next favorite!
Used to loop the paradise...layback and float!!
Stevie does a beautiful version of "Riviera Paradise" on this same show. I like it better than the studio version. It makes me teary eyed every time.
Paradoxically I get so joyous/ melancholy seeing this entire ACL performance of Sober Stevie & the wave of musicality that surges out.

That's a clean & sober Stevie & feeling good at this second Austin City Limits performance.
Stevie Ray Vaughan is simply the greatest, but Reese was a man possessed on those keyboards! Fantastic performance of a SRV favorite and another great reaction, Chod.
Man I enjoyed watching this with you brother. SRV was a fusion of blues and jazz with a ton of emotion. The GOAT!!
My fellow birthday twin Stevie Ray Vaughan...I miss him so much!
Stevie's band mates, Double Trouble, were in a band called Storyville after Stevie passed. You shoukd check out their best song "Good Day For The Blues".
Pretty laid back for Stevie. Reese!!!?? Those keys were fire! Great reaction. Thanks!!!
He's beautiful ❤️
Hey Chod. Also check out Stevie Ray performing "Crossfire" live on the Arsenio Hall show.

Reese is a bad ass. Most people do not know that Reese was the original keyboard for the band that would become the Allman Brothers. When Gregg joined Reese was out.
That’s true. He came full circle and played the Allman Brothers Band’s 50th Anniversary show with the surviving members last year.
SRV always 🔥🔥🔥
I would recommend the bio Texas Flood to any SRV fan, amazing interviews/stories and a million pics I had never seen before 🎶🎵
SRV at his funkiest. This song always gets me on the dance floor. Love it.

"it was a crime scene, that's what it was" that made me laugh out loud... I'm using it
I always enjoy your reaction's and watch your channel more than any other channel out there.
Glad I saw him twice. Can still watch these for hours.
The music video to this song is hilarious!
Reese was the perfect compliment to The Cat in the Hat with the Strat! Both are GOAT!
Damn automatic stop!
❤💯😎👍
Try SRV Canadian friend also very amazing guitarist Jeff Healey 👌
Stevie and the band got the point across without shredding. You chose a good video.
Keyboard man feelin it!

I so regret not having seen SRV in concert when i had the chance. He died on my 20th birthday.
Life by The Drop. Just SRV and acoustic. Great song.☺
I agree with you Chod Wilbur. Simply put "it's that feeling you get" when you hear a SRV song..
