@@mintypot That is assuming the website doesn't have malware or viruses too, just because the video is testing phishing doesn't mean thats all those websites contain or any other website guardio eventually blocks
this may be just me understanding it wrong, but the first test you did in another video covered how much downloaded files malicious sites could download and this one is about phishing and redirection. For what I know sites could use other forms of infection, couldn't they? A malicious JS script could infect your machine without anything showing in download folder is the statement I heard around the internet. Do I really have to input info in phishing sites or execute a file in downloads folder in order to actually get malware from malicious sites?
Inputting info in phishing sites gives the attacker the information you put in, it doesn’t download malware. And you are correct when you say JS code can download things. However even when it tries to, browsers will typically show files that are downloaded. Some browsers have other sorts of protecting like scanning the download and looking inside the code and comparing it to malware in their database when you download anything. Funny, I didn't expected to see Americanas (in 7:50, is a famous retailer in Brazil) because a familiar had questioned me if a link was good because of a promo was too good to be true. Nice video and thanks for the comparison!
I'm using chromium, brave & firefox complete difference between edge and chrome. For my test I use wireshark and the telemetry shows privacy invasion. They also had some different style to get your information and so on. Each website has different style too. privacy nightmare. Maybe because I use GNU/Linux for my test not windows. GNU/Linux is my daily driver for my class lectures, personal and professional use from layouts, video editing, photo editing, documents, slideshow presentation, online class and so on. Been using Windows off and on from 98 to 2019. In between that I use Unix / GNU/Linux & BSD. That gave me some interesting results. They say if it is free. You are the product. I maybe not perfect but I feel more secure in GNU/Linux, Unix & BSD.
So what if the video is sponsored by Guardio. It's just being used as a control folks and weather or not it's catching all or most of the phishing sites is irrelevant because Edge and Chrome should be catching them as well whether or not Guardio is running. Simply put Edge and Chrome should both have 19 blocks just like Guardio. Besides when is it a crime to have a sponsor? That's how people make money, you know to make a living. No one is twisting anybody's arm to buy anything, everybody can decide what programs they wish to purchase or not. Thanks for the video Brother, very informative as usual. I've learned a ton from watching your channel my friend.

Anything that's not chromium based and not related to firefox? I don't like slow, and I want it to be a desktop app that supports all OS. Is Puffin good choice?
What about kaspersky extension. It's been doing great work blocking phishing and automatic download links on sketchy websites. I am using it for the last 5 years. Would be a great test against guardio
But..how is a "control" a browser with an extra layer or security with the extension installed? I know it's a sponsored video, but still that looks kind of pointless.
I watch your vids, everytime this one is the best, next vid this is the best. Which do you use to compair orthers. Honnest oppinion, if you had to buy one, which would it be?
I'd really like to hear your evaluation of the NoScript add on. From my limited understanding of these things I think it should be excellent, but maybe that gives me a false sense of security.
Yea, opening a bunch of links would be much easier by automation, even through an extension (then looking at the tab title for a result). Only limit I can think of is resource usage, it will take a while to load multiple tabs at the same time unless there is a delay in between opening each tab.
Don't they have the same engine (chromium)? You were talking about Brave being a skin of chrome, how's edge any different? Including Firefox would have been better.
Edge is chromium based however, Edge uses Microsoft Defender Smartscreen to block malicious pages as well as the same security features built in to Chromium. Brave probably uses the same Google Safe Browsing because it blocked the same pages as shown in the video.
I will not take back any words about guardio I just ended typing to watch this video :-) also wondering if you changed the settings for blocking on edge because it improves if you would do the middle setting does best for edge in my opinion but this comment was made even before you mentioned that all were on default

Microsoft really doesn't like Chrome my last update completely blocked the vhrome launcher and i had to sync Edge and import my chrome accounts into Edge because i haven't got time to make repairs .
Like I explained in the video, brave would do the same as chrome as it is using the same filters. You can even see it if you observe the test and see when the red warnings pop up. That’s why I used Guardio as a control.
Not to you. But some people don’t have anti-malware programs installed that will block phishing attempts without needing to install an extension which is easy, but I don’t know if grandma knows how.
Excuse, isn't there a way that browsers can Sandbox malicious JS code? JS Code that tries to access precious files like your session tokens ? FritangaPlays got attacked that way. In a way, I wish browsers could detect when JS code are trying to access known directories holding private information. If you asked a RUclipsr to use BeEf or try a Linux install to avoid an attack. It would be complicated. I feel most of these attacks can be resolved within the browsers JavaScript engines. But they never do that.
What would you expect to test in a browser security video? Look through severity of past vulnerabilities, try to exploit it with cross site scripting? Just curious as to what you were expecting.

the title is so missleading. i though there is a edge vs chrome test and not guardio test in edge and chrome. bad video. this only shows how good guardio works in the browser but not the browser itself.
Everybody knows security strength and policies are decided on a per profile per account basis. Maybe in Chrome, vs edge you're using different accounts. And one has permissive traits while the other is enforcing strict policies. This is a neat niche audience you're building here but I'm a lot less impressed than most of your regular viewers
How do the browsers not kill these crack websites yet they are just on top "PC crack software". I run these websites in any run, njrat njrat, njrat, njrat😅

Least obvious Linux ad
So what if the video is sponsored by Guardio. It's just being used as a control folks and weather or not it's
catching all or most of the phishing sites is irrelevant because Edge and Chrome should be catching them as
well whether or not Guardio is running.
You know, when you are down the rabbit hole in The Bay or in The Hub, there are plenty of malicious links. I think I'm gonna test drive Guardio.
Would love to hear your feedback
What hub exactly 🤔
Librewolf?
Librewolf would behave the same as Firefox, with Google safe browsing turned off. Librewolf would (by default) disable the Google filter list, because they want as few pings to both Mozilla and Google, as possible... because privacy.
@@madness1931 True, its based on firefox.
@@madness1931 yes but when talking "safest browser" we also have to take security into account. Firefox is much much more secure than Chrome or Edge
Anything that's not chromium based and not related to firefox? I don't like slow, and I want it to be a desktop app that supports all OS. Is Puffin good choice?
Mullvad browser
What about kaspersky extension. It's been doing great work blocking phishing and automatic download links on sketchy websites. I am using it for the last 5 years. Would be a great test against guardio
Firefox please!
Also what about false positives?
Missed opportunity, should've name it : The Phishing Contest
But..how is a "control" a browser with an extra layer or security with the extension installed? I know it's a sponsored video, but still that looks kind of pointless.
As a check to see if anything blocks those links.
Neither is safe.
I watch your vids, everytime this one is the best, next vid this is the best. Which do you use to compair orthers. Not everyone can hunt thrugh looking for the so-called best, we need to buy and hope we were not given a snow job because someone is making $$$$$ to permote it. Honnest oppinion, if you had to buy one, which would it be?
I'd really like to hear your evaluation of the NoScript add on. From my limited understanding of these things I think it should be excellent, but maybe that gives me a false sense of security.
Just wondering why didn't you use a simple script like malex for this task?
What is malex
Yea, opening a bunch of links would be much easier by automation, even through an extension (then looking at the tab title for a result).
Only limit I can think of is resource usage, it will take a while to load multiple tabs at the same time unless there is a delay in between opening each tab.
Because they're making a video to show visually for viewers.
Cause it was very difficult to automate that for phishing links cause you need to verify if it is live and what it actually does.
@@pcsecuritychannel Ah yes that's right - they do go down very fast
Don't they have the same engine (chromium)? You were talking about Brave being a skin of chrome, how's edge any different? Including Firefox would have been better.
Edge is chromium based however, Edge uses Microsoft Defender Smartscreen to block malicious pages as well as the same security features built in to Chromium. Brave probably uses the same Google Safe Browsing because it blocked the same pages as shown in the video.
What about Safari?
Include the Brave browser in another comparison video
Vs opera plz
I will not take back any words about guardio I just ended typing to watch this video :-) also wondering if you changed the settings for blocking on edge because it improves if you would do the middle setting does best for edge in my opinion but this comment was made even before you mentioned that all were on default
Honestly you should have used your (sponsored) extension in say ungoogled chromium, and still included brave
Who remembers the Netcraft toolbar? Well, it's still exists... Kind of. The Netcraft extension supposedly still rocks.
This video is an ad for Guardio, which I think is spyware. Very fishy
Is guardio spyware?
6:04 it's not a banking site, it's an argentinian government site related to tax payment.
Chrome blocks alot of sites for me , because of my extensions .i get an warning message back to safety or click on advance and visit anyway .
Microsoft really doesn't like Chrome my last update completely blocked the vhrome launcher and i had to sync Edge and import my chrome accounts into Edge because i haven't got time to make repairs .
Is there any way to block all adult site from router so that no one can even enter them using vpn?
Not fair test. You tested Brave with guardio addon, with edge and chrome without any addon.
Like I explained in the video, brave would do the same as chrome as it is using the same filters. You can even see it if you observe the test and see when the red warnings pop up. That’s why I used Guardio as a control.
why so many dislikes? im seeing 1.2k likes and 300dislikes
Suspicious! Guardio sponsored this video.
Malwarebytes browser guard review when?
My ESET Security software blocks phishing attempts regardless of browser. Tne comparisons in this video offer no meaningful information.
Is free guardio any good or do they need your money to be useful?
This video is not about browser security! It's all about anti-malware capabilities, which I'm not interested in.
What would you expect to test in a browser security video? Look through severity of past vulnerabilities, try to exploit it with cross site scripting? Just curious as to what you were expecting.
Could you make a video with Symantec endpoint protection? that would be awesome to see, how does it perform against threats.
I'm new. Guardio is an adblocker that Brave uses or an extension?
An extension he added to Brave & probably the sponsor of the video.
And no, it's not an ad blocker as far as I know. It prevents you from visiting malicious websites, I suppose.
I think Ublock origin plus privacy badger is enough.
How is Guardio compare to Kaspersky and Bitdefender both on Windows and Android?
Can you test librewolf
I know it has nothing related with this video but. I want to install Kodi+Acestream with all of its addons in my main PC. Obviously i don't want to risk my important files. How should i protect them?
Bitdefender vs Kaspersky 2023?
Guardio Free vs Malwarebytes Browser Guard?
What does Guardio cost? and is there a way to install its protection onto Android and iphone?
Hey leo, i have a question, right now, in 2023, should I consider bitdefender or Kaspersky as my antivirus? I'm using BD for last 2 yrs, it's going to expire soon, so can you help plz?
how safe is firefox against phishing?
It really grates on my how you pronounce test as "tast"
Isn't edge built in chrome engine?
I've been using edge on my laptop since I got it 2 years ago and I've trying to avoid virus websites on my laptop is brave and guardio free? Should I switch to them
Yes, brave and guardio is free, I suggest adding uBlock origin adblock to brave
Switch to linux
I use edge with McAfee webadvisor, ublock origin and ad block that's it more than enough
Hey, can you do a compare betwenn AdGuard for Windows and Guardio ?
What is best browser to use ?
What about Firefox?
the title is so missleading. i though there is a edge vs chrome test and not guardio test in edge and chrome. bad video. this only shows how good guardio works in the browser but not the browser itself.
avast anti virus is also a fantastic anti virus as it blocks a lot of these phishing links
They were all crypto scams thats pretty bad! Id love to see this done at the DNS level... Next DNS, VPN DNS, Cloudflare, Quad9 etc
I think it would be pretty much the same.
Love your videos
@@TheGreyLineMatters You sick individual!! What is wrong with your mind?
Norton secure browser can you test that out
Firefox ???
What do you think is better, Librewolf or hardened Firefox?
Firefox
Everybody knows security strength and policies are decided on a per profile per account basis. Maybe in Chrome, vs edge you're using different accounts. And one has permissive traits while the other is enforcing strict policies. This is a neat niche audience you're building here but I'm a lot less impressed than most of your regular viewers
chrome have so many zero day updates
The real winner here is guardio
How to get guardio on brave?
Would Ublock Origin do what Guardio does?
yes, if you got filter for such
please do guardio vs nordvpn websecuritu
Two browsers i will never use 🤣. Microsoft is catching up fast on Google about forcing stuff and spying ...
How do the browsers not kill these crack websites yet they are just on top "PC crack software". I run these websites in any run, njrat njrat, njrat, njrat😅
Is Firefox any good anymore?
Yes
ofc
I hope you can provide script based tool or some free tools which helps the user to add malicious ip address to windows defender (similar to what you have done in the previous informative video).
Just look at the previous video, he already shows how to block malicious IP addresses using Windows firewall
@@lenkarin7530 I just wish there may be some automated tools which can help me to block it. Not an IT expert so not used to commands and all.
@@TheGreyLineMatters I dont rely on defender but blocking malicious ip was amazing.
I love these.
I’d recommend Kaspersky premium. Though, if you’re a PC gamer, it might make the game run slow. It has a game mode that you can enable.
If your antivirus is effecting performance in game that much than you need to find a better Anti Virus. I currently use Malwarebytes but have also used Sophos in the past and neither AV effected in game performance unless I told it to do a full scan using their built in AI to find malware that isn't publicly identified yet.
as always, money brought the security 🎉
