Thanks Ron, you are right on with this message. I bought my 2018 Giulia Base at the tail end of the model year, Its a Monza red Q4 with cold weather package, the 8.8 in screen, 18 in. wheels and as you say, the exact same engine and suspension as all the higher end models. The only thing I'm missing of any real substance vs. the TI or Sport is the paddle shifters which for me was not a huge deal. With some special year end incentives mine came in at less than $36k. What a deal! I love this car. It's docile around the city for running to the grocery store but for spirited driving out on the back roads it's beyond just a joy to drive. it's a piece or art and an engineering tour de force. For what it's worth, operformance BMWs and Audi;s are pretty common. I hardly ever see another Alfa and frankly, many people swoon over my car and effuse over its beauty complementing my 'taste in cars.' Not that I'm looking for complements but still...I like being a contrarian My biggest hesitation when I made the purchase relates to the horror stories on reliability. As far as I'm concerned these are way overblown. So far at 12k miles this car has been faultless.

Hey Ron, so you were saying that the steering feels a but different in the 2020 model, i have the 2019 myself but i test drove the 2020, i can agree that the car drives the same as the 2019, but i dont believe the sharpness is gone, its exactly the same as it hits all the corners as usual and best in its class. However, I WILL SAY THEY CHANGED THE WEIGHT OF THE STEERING TO BE EVEN MORE LIGHTER.

@@astronmr20 Lease is what you do when the hassle of a car having any reliability issues and spending days and days in a shop exceeds the additional cost of leasing, lease the car. A 36mo $500 a month lease on a $50,000 BMW with a few thousand due at signing is preferable to a 5 year old BMW with 80k miles and probpems creeping up. With my career, I don't have time or energy to waste dealing with an unreliable car. I would personally never own a high mileage Alfa nor would I eat the hit on that god awful residual from a 4 cylinder Giulia. No thanks. It makes more financial sense to lease when you have to be seen driving something respectable, especially on business outings with clients or prospective clients... see?
