First two Alien films are the best of course (and the most iconic) but to be honest, each Alien film adds something new and fresh to the main lore, especially Alien 3.
We are definitely really interested in the lore of the series. We also just watch Aliens vs. Predator, and despite it's bad ratings we really enjoyed it!
Agreed with Devinity about the multiple strong females. Other than Ripley, Vasquez is the obvious stand out but you may have noticed Ferro, the dropship pilot ("We're in the pipe - five by five"). When the alien enters the dropship cockpit to attack her, Ferro does not scream or panic. In less than a second she assesses the threat and then turns quickly to get her gun to defend herself. Unfortunately the xenomorph is too fast but fact is, in that second, Ferro was an absolute BAD ASS.
I remembered Ferro from when I watched this as a kid for that reason! I always thought she was really cool for keeping composure/controlling her fear and just moving logically to trying to solve the problem. 👍
This is true but Ferro also ignored Spunkmeyer when he said "There's something..." On a planet with xenomorphs running around, this is extremely negligent. It would be negligent at the best of times. To be fair, Spunkmeyer should have insisted on investigating further having found a very unusual residue on the ramp of the drop ship.
The beautiful thing about Ripley in this film is that, as a “strong female lead”, which I know is a cliche these days, she has flaws. The female lead of today has no flaws. They can do it all, and are better than everyone, especially men at everything, which frankly is ridiculous. Some people call that “woke”, but whatever. Ripley is compelling because she HAS flaws. She is traumatized, and is far from invincible. A character has to overcome something. And once she does in this film, momma takes over! Its not only instinct, but necessity! Well done guys! Great reaction. One of the best sequels of all all time right up there with Empire Strikes back, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, and Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan, in the sci-fi genre. The original Trek films would be great! Consider doing those. Have a great one guys!
Thanks we appreciate it! We are big Star Wars fans so we seen all those obviously. Devinity has never seen T1 and T2 (as well as most of the early Arnold movies) so that is on our list of ones to watch here soon. I hadn't thought of the original Star Trek films, will add them to the list! Thanks!
Any time! Im a big SW fan too. Trek is a more thought-provoking style adventure series. The first film (simply titled “The Motion Picture”) Is a massive epic space mystery, but slow pace kinda like 2001: A Space Odyssey. I would suggest you watch Star Trek 2, 3, and 4 because they are a trilogy, with a connecting story, like Star Wars. But nothing beats William Shatner as Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Spock, and DeForest Kelley as “Bones” McCoy. Iconic. Definitely will get plenty of views. But its your channel. Im new here, so who am I right? Hey, thats my humble 2 cents. See you soon!
Alien and Aliens set the standard for sci-fi monster movies. I personally prefer Aliens: Special Edition. To me, this is the greatest, most exciting, most enthralling and intense sci-fi film ever made. I have seen Aliens so many times. Every time I watch Aliens, I care more and more about the characters and their place in the story. The magic of Aliens and its characters is largely because of James Cameron. Aliens is one of the best examples of 3D storytelling ever put on film.
Thats awesome! I(Jrocks) didn't recall much of Aliens (I was young and at a birthday party sleepover when we saw it), but the Terminators I loved. Devinity hasn't seen T1 and T2 yet. We might have to check them out down the road

What? There were many strong female roles in the 70s & 80s & 90s. Such as Carrie 70s & T2. There was even a quasi anthem in the 80s "Enjoli" perfume ;D So many movies nowadays are re-make's. Godfather, Star Wars, Jaws, Rocky, Serpico, Deliverance,Apocalypse Now all from the 70s.
This movie is so amazing, that I have seen him for a 150 times or maybe even more. I've been a movie collector for a 37 years now, and I've seen this movie in some 1987. for the first time. And I have this movie in my collection now, Director's cut, in UHD! Greetings from Croatia!

Spunkmeyer is not a real name, but it is the name of a baked goods company, so not sure what it's doing in this movie, maybe the writers liked their cookies.
It was! We did just watch Alien vs. Predator. Definitely not as good of a film as either of the Alien movies or Predator, but we thought it was honestly a fun watch!
Cool thing about Newt...she took her little paycheck for this movie and just went and had a normal life instead of becoming another child actor tragic story....think she became a teacher or something 👍 good for her.
Good reactions as usual, but sadly there's quite a number of big reaction opportunities missed bc of the editing choice to zoom in on the movie-only at so many of those moments. Yes I understand we get to see their faces soon after that, but it'd be nice to see how they're experiencing the entirety of such moments. And sorry to say, but the editing is quite choppy with so many quick jump cuts. Plus, there's also so, so many zoom-ins on each of them uttering a word or sentence, and I get that's your style, and a few couples reaction channels do such zoom-ins at times, but not continuously throughout the entire reaction. Doing it so often takes away from seeing the other one's reaction at that moment & what exactly they're looking at, which imho takes something away from the reaction itself.
@@darchon5 Thanks for the feedback. We don't edit these ourselves (most reaction channels don't). We actually have been through at least 10 editors already with only 14 movies posted. @@JrocksAndDevinity Thanks for the reply. Again, your reactions themselves are great, and I'm sorry to bag on the current editor(s), but I felt I had to be completely honest about the um, 'unique' nature of the editing here, as one who enjoys your reactions and watches a ton of reaction vids. I think that the zoom-in on each of you during certain exclamations or comments can add something... but to do it so much for the whole video on most things each of you say?? There are just SO many zoom-ins and cuts throughout that imho it robs the viewers of seeing more of your lovely faces (ie reactions) during pivotal moments. Your reactions themselves are up there with some of the better ones to this movie (and I've watched just about all of them), but I feel they're just held down a bit and somewhat muted by the editor(s) doing too much - it gets distracting, as if they're showing off, like 'see, how good am I?' Not accusing them of such intentions, but to me that's how the editing comes off.
@@darchon5 One of the editors uses a kot if the zooms, the other doesn't use nearly as much. I agree with you and feel like non zoom ones are much more watchable (our Logan reaction for example). @@JrocksAndDevinity Thanks again for the reply and it's clear that you care a lot about what you're putting out there. I'm sheepish to admit that I had just unsubscribed after this reaction and I un-liked it halfway through bc the choppiness and missing some of your key reactions was getting tedious/predictable, but I'm happy to report that I've reinstated my sub and like, you deserve it.
