Introducing the new Voxelab Aquila!
This little printer is a beast! The parts feel great, easy construction and use, and I was getting some pretty awesome quality right out of box!
This is a serious competition for similar printers like the Ender and Mindga D2!

I bought this a month ago based on your Ender recommendation for a starter printer. No missing parts and trilled with the results! Thanks!
I have been running one of these for about 3 months. I will note that the initial impression was outstanding i did run into a LOT of issues though. Extruder arm broke, the thermistor to the hot end was damaged so occasionally the printer would not detect it and go into a protection mode. I had lots of clogs. I did lukes hot end fix 2 different times, one following the e3pro and one measuring myself and doing it for this machine. All that said and done, once i got the all metal extruder, a micro swiss hotend and a new thermistor it has been fantastic. I would buy another one if a need for an additional small format printer was needed
I bought this as a first printer and I love it despite all the frustrations of learning everything but when I found your channel and this video it just answered every question I couldn’t figure out
Nothing missing on mine. Just got mine assembled and carefully leveled. Glad the build video I watched discussed moving the Z limit switch, since my leveling knobs were way too loose when leveled up at the factory location for the switch. Easy move to set the switch triggering about 1/8" above the mid point on the knobs, then full leveling, and 3 perfect prints so far from the SD card included! Even had some 10+ year old filament from my Printrbot days that worked fine!
Great video! and love your prints Frank! Definitely next level👌😎
Huh? Did I just find a wild marsgismo in it’s natural habitat?
U are loved by God And he cares about u so much and wants u to turn to him today so that he can make miracles and Blessings happen? God loves u and the world so much that He sent his only son Jesus Christ to Die on the cross so that we could Have a relationship with him and not have to sacrifice anything and we can inherit Heaven and be forgiven for our sins and repent those sins? God has a plan for u and wants it to happen turn to him and he'll change ur life in a better way than u could ever imagine He's helped me with many things and will do the same to u Just turn to Him and he will give u rest and will protect u Because he wants to save u and give you his kingdom of Heaven because He loves and cares about u and died for u so that u wouldn't have to go to Hell. God bless you and have a good Day❤️✝️🙏Accept Jesus as your lord and savior and be saved repent ur sins But it's ur choice to make but Jesus is coming soon but it's all ur choice to make God bless
Dude seriously you are so underrated. I love your content keep it up !!!!
I learned about 3D printing from your why your wrong about 3D printing and found this printer that’s in this video, I’m glad you did a review on it cause I’m probably gonna buy it 😄
Ayyy how kind of you, you posted my comment for me
Actually the exact printer i just got myself a couple weeks ago. Wasn't missing any of the bolts i needed for assembly. So far i have no complaints. And Im already past testing and starting my Red Hood Cosplay
That’s good
To know! Guess it was just my box
How do you transfer the content to the volex from the usb
Just got the Aquila X2 super excited.
I have this printer. the belt tensioner screw was missing but the other ones you were missing i had. Thank you for this video
i'm watching reviews, this one was so good, i may be making my first 3d printer purchase, based on it. Thanks, Frank.
i just bought one, it’s $180 on amazon.
@@mr.derrpybear4047 i wonder if my current need of one (2d shapes for
extrusion dies) is too little for this machine, and that is a very good price. another reviewer mentioned that the assembly hardware(screws) were flimsy and the print nozzle has a gap that may cause problems.
Great video as always. Having built an Ender 3 V2, it seems like a full clone of it (apart from the missing screws and the screen), at least from a material point of view.
Frank: Glad to see they are building solid FDM printers, too. I have their Proxima mono resin printer. What an incredible machine - you can tell Flashforge put some of their production values into the Voxelab. Interesting note: It's literally the same LCD screen as the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro, which is much, much more (Proxima = $189, Mars 2 Pro = $299) and I've actually printed at .025mm layer height. I say, keep it up, Voxelab!
hi frank! i just got this printer and i am exited to build it!
Hi Frank, after a lot of problems with the CR10SPro v2, I decided to get one of these the Aquila Pro, should arrive Monday.
Got this a couple of days ago. My printer came with so many extra parts I had to do a triple check to make sure I didn’t miss any parts when assembling.
Amazing content!!
I am about to open this exact three printer up
i am going to order one soon
Thanks for the video. I am missing the tube clips and the M4x12 screws (listed in the parts list). Haven't assembled yet, but I can't see any of the instructions that use those, so maybe they stopped putting in the M4x12 ones.
just ordered the pre order for the upgraded machine. we shall soon see... :)
Thank you for your help
My printer came with two leveling wheels undone, but I had all the screws--some were in the extra hardware bag.
There are 5 to my knowledge improvements that Voxelab have made to this printer over the Ender 3 V2, see if you can find them! (I'm assuming you have a V2 to make the comparison)
Frank, you have loads of those glass beds and I have 3 of them and each time I have had to wash the yellow adhesive off them, IPA does not get it all off it just spreads it around, give it a good wash and the filament will stick as it should.
Actively raising and lowering Z offset during printing is called babystepping.
Hey dude little late but I just got this printer and I’m having an issue with the tube disconnecting mid print from extruder
I happened to buy this exact printer and the same filament literally 2 weeks ago
Great video, thanks a lot for doing this.
amazing content thank you
This was a helpful video. A friend just sent me a link on Amazon for this printer. Maybe it’s a sign I should get this one :-)
just got one of these just trying to do it
Mine came with two stripped screws that attached to the T-screw on the y-axis
I was missing screws with mine as well! Mine has a few extra plugs that I’m not sure what to do with! Also I plugged it in and I can get it to power on! Any suggestions
Hi. What size printer do you use for the iron man helmets. Luv the channel
Hey brother I have a few questions I just got that printer and I’ve been trying to print a file for the longest time but I see that it’s been giving me a few problems on my print, do you have any more recommendations that maybe it can work I have tried leveling the bed I have try printing out a few things but it always tends to mess up on the top of my print
I had the same issue that I had a part missing. I emailed them and they were really helpful and sent the missing part out to me.
i know this is an older video but u just got on of this i am also missing a part im missing a spindle that is under the printing platform
I got mine yesterday and when I was setting it up and trying to test out the printing when I loaded the filament in it said there wasn't any so it wouldn't let me print can somebody help me with this?!
First thing to be trashed would be the plasticky extruder in favor of one of the new all metal hobbed dual gear extruders!!! Just purchased an Ender 6 CoreXY which had it and absolutely zero slippage or feed problems!!!
other than potentially messing up the alignment of the bed and or the x axis bar, why don't you want to disable the stepper when leveling?
You could inadvertently raise or lower the z-height
I'm a 67yr old woman and freaked out about using this the first time! But I'm GONNA do this. I have a question... how do you format the SD card?
I bought this printer and have been having problems would you be able to help with them because mine doesn’t stop auto home and makes a loud noise
So when I click to print my design it keeps saying filament not detected when it is intact inserted so didn’t know what I’d have to do to fix that
I just built an Ender 3 v2 a few days ago and from what I can see they are identical except for the screen and I honestly prefer this one. I may just have to pick one of these up to play with myself. If these can be had for a buck and a half, I'll take two!
i think its the same screen but horizontal ...
I’ve got the opportunity to buy one used once. Is there anything I should look for as far as hardware issues and does it have the option in the firmware to tell you if their is any possible issues? I can get it for $75 or less, it’s got everything and a roll of TECBEARS PETG 1.75mm 1kg.
It’s a 30min drive.
Are there any particular pics I should ask to see before I make the drive?
Any reply from anyone will be appreciated.
It’s version 1.11-200923.
can you use 1.75mm filament on this printer ??
I'm having some issues. My printer is giving me an error msg, filament not detected. please help
I saw someone selling this exact same printer on Facebook Marketplace for $60! I've never used a 3D printer a day in my life but I feel the price is great and the seller said there was a part that was broken and could be replaced. Would this be a good printer for a beginner?
This was my first 3D printer, and it became my 2nd 3D printer, and it will be any 3D printer in the future. The only issue I had was the plastic extruder. It failed within 3 days of purchase. The "Push" connector failed. I purchased an all metal extruder and have had ZERO problems with the first, and before I even turned on the 2nd, I purchased and installed the new metal extruder. For the price, this is an amazing 3D printer. Have plans on 4-6 more! There are no cutters included with the printer. And missing screws... Shit happens.
Hey do you have a amazon link for the metal extruder? If not that is fine
@@elijahpogue2334 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SY745CF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just be careful with those metal extruders...the steel wheels do not run on bearings, its metal on metal and they will eventually grind themselves out .
Awesome
Hey Frank I remember awhile ago you did a review of the Sunlu S8 printer that had a lot of good information I can't seem to find it did you delete the video?
Yes I removed the video. I wasn’t happy with it as a review video and I’m not the biggest fan of the printer
Wow, I have an ender 3 V2 and if it wasn't for the logos and the shape of the screen I would hardly know they were different. Interestingly here in Australia I got my ender 3 V2 for $430 AUD and can get this on Amazon for $299 AUD! Crazy price difference.
P.S Also not sure if you manually added ads on this video but there seemed to be 4 mid rolls (at least for me) which was a lot more than your videos normally have.
You might get it even cheaper directly from their website. It's worth a look for anyone who hasn't checked. In my case (West Coast, US) it was cheaper by $10 and shipping was only 3 days.
Can you build/print wearable helmets like your iron man and Mando one using this printer?
You definitely can! Even the bigger things, using his tips on cutting up big files to print and join together ☺️
Thor hammer like yours? If yes, how long did it take and does the machine change the colors from one spool somehow?
I’m very tech savvy and it’s how I pay my bills working from home since the lock down, I’m full time independent from home.
I’m sure I can learn this. I won’t have time to learn to your degree, but if the printer does all the work…. I’ll learn from you.
Just got my ender 3 v2 I'm printing with sunlu plus what temp nozzle and bed do ypu recommend?
I like 210/65
Cool thank you I'll try that. My test print came out good with the basic filiment but when I tried the sunlu I'm having issues. Now I think the nozzle is clogged
Can you link for screw set
Do you think I could use the same Ender 3 upgrade parts with this printer as well as being compatible with the Ender 3???
Some yeah probably
I just got one and i was missing a whole x axis pole
I’ve been printing for a while now and I only have one printer a ender 3 max but what would you recommend as a second printer that has a large print bed
How do you like your Ender Max? I’ve been seriously contemplating getting one for the build volume alone over the Ender 3 v2 and some of the problems that people have been reporting. Any glaring issues that would keep you from recommending the Ender Max?
@@WhiteStripesFann honestly no I love it it is fantastic it has done more than I ever thought it would I did have some problems in the beginning when it wasn’t sticking but that is all solved I just needed to mess around with the settings I recommend this printer to anyone
@@WhiteStripesFann if you buy it and have any questions feel free to ask
Hi. This printer is nearly half the price of the ender 3v2 where I am in uk. Is it worth the saving?
I would get it
@@FranklyBuilt thanks so much will upgrade kits designed for the ender 3 be compatible with the voxellab?
What's the name device you're using
Man I wanted to buy the Aquila but the shipping to my place takes 150 usd😭😭 and the printer is like 180 or 190 usd
For someone who has never 3D printed and young would you say this is a good thing to build
I recommend this printer to all my friends “interested” in printing. You can get it for $150 on AliExpress or banggood with a roll of filament sometimes.
Something to remember as a beginner. There is a massive community here to help. Don't get intimidated, they are really not very complicated and you can be up and printing in no time. This looks like an Ender 3 v2 but maybe with that screen I may call it a v3. Welcome to a hobby thats going to be with you forever!
would a BTT SKR Mini 3 v2.0 board work with this printer?
No idea haha
My printer just didn’t come with the clamp for the tube
Can u do a settings video on voxlab aquila
No because I have settings tutorials already for a few printers and generic 3D printing. No need for a printer specific one
@@FranklyBuilt ight, thanks, uv still helped alot, also subscribing cause no ones ever replied before
Hey I love your videos
what type of filament break detection do you use?
This was my first printer and had to send it back nothing was working on it. Ended up buying a ender 3 instead.
How’s the ender 3? Just bought it but then saw this one 80 bucks cheaper. And I’m tempted to cancel the order and order this one
@@garden0fstone736 defiantly worth it. The ender 3 is great. Had it for awhile and still using it no problems. Love it
Another reviewer who shouts !
I’m going to buy a printer.
I want one that’s capable of making the things I see in the background.
Aren’t you out of the country yet? You Mrs is still letting you play with your toys? :)
my aquila has 500 care free hours but I just ordered the extra Z svrew from amazom
I have to do an iron man helmet, wish me luck
I think we all want to make our own!
I’m buying a printer for…
I buy all Christmas for my home so I’ll be actually buying it, but I’m looking what I’m telling my girls that I want for Christmas now!
I like this one.
I got mine about a month ago i had some extra screws maybe i found yours😂
Dang you!
How do you transfer the content to the volex from the usb
@@FranklyBuilt How do you transfer the content to the volex from the usb
iam about to buy the Official Creality Ender 3 3D Printer Fully Open Source with Resume Printing Function DIY 3D Printers Printing Size 220x220x250mm my first printer is it a good buy it is on sale
Will it work with a chromebook
no missing parts, maybe they fell on the floor
Can we get a Dragon Slayer sword video?
You mean the one I already made a video of? Lol
@@FranklyBuilt totally missed it on your page! Sorry
it's just an ender 3 clone tho, get an ender 3 V2 and be done with it, the only thing this thing has going for it is that screen which is great to be fair but that's it.
I just bought the v3 pro but then saw this 80 bucks cheaper. Is it worth canceling and reordering this one or just stick with t6e v3. Is the v3 better?
No se podía haber explicado el montaje peor.
This is just an Ender 3 V2 with a horizontal screen instead of vertical. Like LITERALLY everything else is the same rofl
Yep! Lol 😂
It's a clone and it's cheaper by $100
Also dose it come with sd card 😂
someone should 3D print a 3D printer lol
