- Project Turbo returns with episode 2! In this episode I'm teaming up once again with my friend Chris, the owner of this gorgeous 2015 991.1 Turbo, to install a set of Soul Performance SPORT CATS to go with the X-Pipe we installed in episode 1, to give his 911 the true flat six growl it deserves.
The Soul X-Pipe and Sport Cats are a direct bolt-on component that simply replaces the factory center muffler. In this video you get to see the entire job, step by step, followed by a before/after comparison of the stock Porsche exhaust vs. the Soul X-Pipe exhaust vs. the Soul X-Pipe and Sport Cats combination.
Stay tuned for more Project Turbo videos coming over the next few months and Chris and I take on several other mods including powder-coating his OEM wheels, some exterior styling mods, red seat belts and much more.
As ever, thanks so much for watching my videos and supporting my channel. Keep the comments and chat coming! More videos coming soon. Cheers!

You can actually hear the Turbo’s spool faster with that deep Soul tone
I actually think option 2 sounds better than 3.
As a Turbo S owner very excited to see what else you do with the Turbo. Did this exact same mod two years ago and it really changed the driving experience. Still waiting on that steering wheel swap…
Ha! Cheers Dom... That's up to Chris... :)
Excellent work, well done James! Huge difference in sound and beautiful results!
Cheers Jr! Appreciate it!
Perfect job guys!!!! and the "quick review" was a cool idea!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Antonio!
Great video as always, thank you, James and Chris! -Mike
Cheers Mike! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! Car sounds menacing now. I always recommend a little dab of copper anti-seize on the threads of the O2 sensors and turbo studs to make installation and removal (should you ever need to) easier.
Fantastic lads. Well done. Certainly looks like a two man job.
Cheers dude! Thanks 👍
Sounds mean now!! Thanks for the share and the proam tips haha.
Ha! Cheers.
I remember putting exhaust on my 944Turbo made the turbo spool sooner and faster.
Sounds great!! You sure don't get that feeling from any crappy EV car!!
Right!
Yep! Told you it would be the Cherry on Top. My 992 sounds incredible now with he High Flow Cats and aftermarket exhaust.
By the way, on the 992 C2S you DO NOT need to remove the exhaust, bumper and only one post O2 sensor all easily accessible. The Cats come off and on So easy. 20 minutes each!
Great video as I decide to figure out what I'm going to do with mine.
Which turned into me having this very same installed on Monday great video I knew exactly what to expect and it sounds great!
Fantastic. Next you need headers, do88 performance package and tune by ES MOTOR.
As always, I love your content. And I am quite convince I'll go for the soul exhaust tips on my soon to come 718 (only the tips because, you know, regulations in Belgium...)
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Thank you for considering us! -Mike
@@SoulPerformanceProducts Hi Mike, you are welcome. My decision is already made for a slash cut, signature satin. I'll order around spring.
@@NZGilead thank you very much! :)
Good content I have a 991.2 Turbo S, although I wish you did a detail bumper removal but I found it somewhere else. I'm planning on doing this with a boostlogic catless in a few weeks. Thx for the vid. I also followed your chrono face swap. Thx for that as well.
Thanks!! 🙌
How do you like the boostlogic? thinking about doing the same.. afraid it might be TOO much volume?
@@madisonscorner2180 love it. Gives it a nice v8 sound. I have a sound and dyno video posted.
@@LivYo_life Ive read some reviews that it drones really bad at lower rpms. Do you find that the case. They are just up the road from me but they dont do many in-house to hear in person. It seems way louder than stock - volume wise. Love the turbo spooling noises.
@@madisonscorner2180 to be honest I don't know exactly what drone is. There isn't an obnoxious sound. Isn't loud until you get down on it and I believe it has what they call anti drone pipes that has deadends. I've changed the exhaust on a few other of my vehicles for the purpose of it being louder and better performance. What drone is has never been a cercern.
Oh Yeah !! SOUL !! But, You should hear my "99 911 996 double Gundo exhaust hack that we did. Inner cross pipe and over top pipe! Neighborhood friendly up to 35K rpms. At 4K rpms, it sounds like its on the track~~!!!! Awesome Porsche Growl~~! Quite Loud at 4K rpms and above. Sounds PORSCHE GREAT !!
Wow! This I need to hear! Do you have any videos online I could check out?
greeting from China
Welcome!
👍
Cheers Mark!
Great content and videography as always, James. What’s the cost of these upgrades out of interest, pal? Catch-up soon.
That's a good question and an excuse for another video!! :)
Right now I am running the SOUL sport exhaust system (sport cats/x-pipe muffler)which runs for $4200 without exhaust tips.
No gaskets at the cats?
There was, they were in great shape. So reused the original ones.
What @chris said.
was the heat shield still in place as I didn't see it connected to the cats at all.
We put the head shielding back before we reinstalled the bumper.
Does Soul provide any performance increases?
The Soul cats provide a slight but noticeable power increase. More again with their headers and they also have a softronic tune they sell.
