Excellent video! I currently run between the 13/16 and a 13/18 solas for closed course racing. The 13/16 does have cavitation out of the hole a lot more but does better in the mid range pull buoy to buoy on tight courses but in rough water you don’t get the hard pull and are always to close to the limiter, the 13/18 is an all around good choice as it doesn’t have as much cavitation has a better top speed and you can leave it wide open in rough water and it stays pulling hard. I have not tried the 4 blade or the pump wedge on mine but you now have me interested. For any one wondering for comparison, I have a 2017 full limited class built motor with Riva intake grate 17lb charger wheel and with a 13/16 see speeds of 81mph at 8,950 rpm and with the 13/18 I see 83-84 mph at 8,700 rpm. The13/16 is a lot more snappy in the right conditions however i feel it is only for a unique condition and it is not as good all around like the 13/18. As far as quality from solas I have used and repitched 5 impellers and have had no issues so far. Hope this helps, thanks again for the awesome content!
I’ve been saying for a year and a half now that the 21+ RXPX impeller is a very good impeller for stage 1 tunes. With just an air intake, RXPX impeller, flame arrestor delete. and Riva 8500 RPM tune (targeting 8300-8400 rpm) I was able to hit 82mph GPS verified and saw 83 on the dash in April 2022.
Any experience with a race finished rxtx impeller by impros? I'm hearing it's close if not better than the 21+ rxpx impeller. Would be cheaper for me too (22 rxtx)
@@Mike-Rxtxteresting. I'm running my 19 rxtx OEM worked by impros and ribs about 80 with Riva stage 2 and love it in all conditions especially in the rough water, it stays hooked but was thinking to try the 21+rxp impeller even have it in hand to see if I can get some more speed out of my ski but not at the risk of losing the hook up. Where did you hear that from?
@gus13letter someone posted their personal experience, but they never mentioned if they had tweaked the 21+ impeller pitch for best results vs impros perfecting the pitch. If you end up doing the switch to do a comparison please let me know the results!
Hey what did you repeat your factory impeller too? I got a 2018 GTX limited. I'm probably going to do some modifications during the winter probably trying to get it to 80 mi per hr
Ernesto next time test this same two props the aftermarket solas 13/18 three blades vs the oem stock 4 blades RXP-X 2021 prop with the draggi to see with which one the RXT 300 accelerated quicker. What about testing the same ski with a aftermarket waterbox vs the oem stock one? This also should be a very interesting test 👍😉. The stock configuration exhaust vs the aftermarket single rear exhaust vs the new rear dual exhaust should be also a very interesting test. Thanks for the excellent videos.
The 1318 Solas definitely gets to TopSpeed faster than the stock 21 4blade as far as doing more test My biggest problem is time I have to work and pay bills that’s why we need to grow the channel so I can dedicate more time.
@@calasworld I was the first person to bring to our island of PR a 4 stroke personal watercraft. It was a Kawasaki STX-15 this was back in 2004 and also put a deposit and buy the first Sea Doo supercharged RXT 215 hp that arrived to our island with with a external intercooler this was back in 2005. In that time I owned both skis. The top speed of the stock RXT was only 64 mph in our local heat soak and high humidity tropical weather in salt water, then durring the breaking period after only a few hours of use it was completely modified with a Riva racing aftermarket Intercooler, a Riva flashed computer, a Riva high flow air intake, Riva racing valve retainer’s and installed a high psi aftermarket rude supercharged and a solas prop made by Impros. With this mods I break the 70 mph back in the day and my ski was the fastest all around our island. I never moded the Kawasaki because at that time there were none aftermarket high performance parts available for him. I also used to wrench in them before but I am retired from the hobby now.
The 21+ stocker definitely seemed the best. Although the solas 13/18 got the same top end it seemed like it took longer to rev out and the lower rpms kinda showed that. If you get the traction with the 13/16 it would probably shoot out the water but might have to think about valve train for the top end. What type of intake grate? Presume stock since your basing a lot from stock. Do the stock grates have a scoop in them like the AMs ones? Idk what SD has done with the stockers. I know Yamaha started to install a scoop style grate on the gp18rs I think in 19. Then I guess the question is if a scoop grate is installed and your getting that speed is the mounting area beefed up enough so the bolts don’t rip out like the 17/18 gp18rs? Can get yourself down a big rabbit hole very easily, lol. Great stuff, hardest working man at the boat ramp that day. Hope you get to ride with the gang.
Good info here! I have been in the market for a prop for my RXP. Also look forward to the video on HP tuners! I have been using HPT for over a year now. So far I’m at 81mph with a tune and intake only (with seat on and me on it at 210lbs). HPT works!
So with HPT you can reflash the oem ECU and copy that map to an other ski as well within extra charge ? Don you need license as well like on maptuner ?
@@Watercraftspecialist yes you can reflash the oem ecm. You have to buy credits from HPT for every new vin.
