    I just bought a 2007 GTI 155se. I had no idea what i was doing, skit are completly forign to me. Price was competive with a couple others i narrowed it down to, but this guy was only one still responding. Against better judgemt i bought it wrapped and winterized in winter, inlooked upnthe seller, theyre professionals who id say are either lower rich or upper upper middle class. Typically folks with money take care of things. Clean ski, 161 hours, turnned out to be 163. Shortly after gwtting it unwrapped turned out the just pump was destroyed, bearing have solidified in a pile in the cone where they became molten, slung out of the races and solidfied as a pile of slag. The jet pump housing was unusable, all vanes cracked and broked. Impeller badly damaged. Called seller told him, negotiated to $300 refund. Spent about $650 replacing the jetpump alone. Realized the the jet pump was so bad the wesr ring was spinning and actaully ate a hole through the lower part of rear of ski, luckly the area doesnt go through to hull, but could of been much worse. Drive shaft it heavily rusted but prob ok. Then realized thing only wants to spin over like 25% of time. 90% sure its the relay, ill replace, no big deal. First thing i checked when i got it unwrapped was compression, didnt look good, 108,104, 104. But thay was cold, after sitting all winter with no oil up sleeves and off throttle. Once new relays in and im able to warm it up, hoping the numbers are better. Paid $2,600 -$300. Not sure i got a fair deal considering everything, mabye it was a bad deal. But im confident we will have a bit of fun on it, mabye sell it and buy somehting better. Learned a ton. Guess i had to get burned a but on my first one to learn about em and be ready for #2..

      Doesn't matter on engine hours when comes to stock and or N/A but when cone to modification and with a supercharger yes it does matter as those are hard on the engine.
      I bought a 2009 GTI 130 which has 510 hours of unbelievable all-stock it was sold as a locked-up engine I bought it as a parts donor but found out it was a jet pump that froze up I took off and the engine started and ran smoothly as if new. Lower hp that's why the same reason why old diesel 7.3 has a reputation for last forever.

    Good morning. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Number one I pulled out my engine and was power washing the hull and I found a washer with a plastic tab on it on the floor. I said omg that’s the washer he spoke about in the last video for the pump. So thank you for that. lol. Number 2. I have some oxidation on my ride plate. It’s not really bad but I want to clean it off. I was going to use a wiz wheel with scotch brite pad. Do I spray it with clear paint after? Thank you. Have a happy new year.

    • @calasworld
      @calasworld  8 месяцев назад +3

      No a big no that’s your radiator for the engine. It needs to be bare aluminum so it can transfer the heat. If you paint the ride plate, the motor will overheat.
