Honestly, so refreshing to see an Australian crafter. Just because its a lot easier knowing I can easily get most of these supplies. Will be making this minifogger! Thanks very much.
Thanks, I just built three of these for an up & coming immersive D&D experience. Your channel is inspirational, production quality, content and narration all top notch. Subbed and looking forward to more! :)
Well done Sebastian, great video! Can’t wait to see how you conceal your newest gadget in future terrain builds. Such a cool way to add lots of atmosphere to the tabletop!
Wow, what an awesome effect!!! I'm totally trying these. One thought: I didn't hear you mention any hints on what type of water to use. I'm guessing it's meant to be distilled water. I can share from experience with similar products that tap water leaves mineral deposits in a hurry on the contact plate that reduce fog output until you soak and scrub with vinegar. Distilled water, on the other hand, prevents mineral buildup. Now to hunt some down!!!
Hmm. Actually, that cotton straw intrigues me. It might be the exact thing to catch all the minerals from tap water. Sorry to muddy up the video with these comments mate! I've actually never used anything with a cotton syphon/straw before. It's always been just a plastic tank. That device looks awesome!
What's so awesome about this item is its portability. I mostly DM for my family when I visit so I need all my equipment to fit in a single bag. So a fog machine would be out of the question but this is so portable and effective that I'm definitely making one!
Yes can attest to the fact that these are always in my DM back pack. So handy! Been enjoying mounting them on a small stand to simulate rain/snow effects (without things getting wet). Those bottle humidifiers go in and out of stock all the time, but i've tested a variety of models. Shout out if you need help finding some 👍
@@Atmoseeker Have you tried adding fog juice to this device? Does it make denser fog? And they have scents for fog juice which I feel would really add to the immersion.
My pleasure buddy! I think I literally use it in every photography and video of terrain. Personally have gotten a lot of use out of them for that little bit of fog effect
Super nice one, Seb. Seb? I think that's what you said. I'll be honest; I'm never gonna build one like the chill fogger. This one, tho, seems much more my speed. Thanks for showcasing this. I'd otherwise never have know a portable humidifier was a thing
i just discovered this channel yesterday, wow im impressed! already subscribed of course. question if i may: can this device draw from a remote reservoir via a tube? my game board is mounted on a turntable so i have space underneath to hide things.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! The fogger uses a cotton straw to draw moisture up to the transducer, so you could use a larger reservoir, but it probably wouldn't work with a hose to draw up water. You might be interested in checking out this bigger fogger I looked at recently that does use a hose ruclips.net/video/frB2jCJblHA/видео.html
Yeah unfortunately these particular ones have been discontinued, but if you search Amazon for "portable humidifier wand" you may see some options. I have had success with this brand ( amzn.to/3Q2TBRI ) although the water sensor will only let it be used horizontally or aimed downwards. A travel shampoo bottle was used for this one because it was a bit larger than the ones in this video. If you're still keen to grab one and arent sure, feel free to message me directly on instagram/twitter to see if it's one i've tried before.
Just made a new one, it's hard to find ones that are rechargeable, but a power bank solves the issue twitter.com/AtmoseekerTV/status/1566000659119611906?t=Sf-Zt-5Afi_i2P-DHWd3kA&s=19
Great video and this is really cool! I wonder though if a thicker fog can be achieved? Maybe with something more than just water inside or possibly one of those e-cigarettes without all the bad chemicals.
Thanks for watching! I haven't experimented with other fluids, but the transducer in the humidifier is designed for water. There are some videos out there that show how to modify an e-cig for a fog effect, but those take some wiring tools, require special fluid, and only last a few minutes. This video aimed to make something simple that's long lasting
need some help, my one's not capable of blocking out all the water as the hole for the cotton's far too big. My best idea I got is some cotton balls but I don't know
Yeah finding the right bottle is most of the work with this project. I've had some luck with small shampoo bottles too. It's gotta be a snug fit. ...or do you mean the actual cotton straw inside the humidifier? Cause that boy can be a bit looser. It's just for drawing up water to the transducer
Thanks for watching! Looks like the supplier of this model has recently opted to make them without the battery to save on production, so I'm currently looking at some rechargeable options. I'll update the equipment page when it becomes available. If you have a usb power bank, that could still keep the wired one portable.
This one is a decoart paint bottle www.spotlightstores.com/craft-hobbies/art-supplies/paint-painting-supplies/acrylic-paints/decoart-crafters-acrylic-paint/BP80466093 If you're in America, (I'm not sue if they're exactly the same) but probably the closest I see is the ones from Apple Barrel
Hey! I have an affiliate link on atmoseeker.webflow.io/equipment The rechargeable ones are currently out of stock (so there's wired only at the moment while i look at alternatives)
I have tried the Fog Monster 1, but not 2. Would be keen to see if there's much difference regarding the fog output. The fogger in this video is probably pretty similar to their "Steam pod"
@@Atmoseeker never tried the Fog Monster 1, but the transducer on the 2 is much much beefier than the one in your video. yours is more similar to their Steam Pod
@@Atmoseeker check out the monster 2, if you can. I really don’t like the residue left behind by “smoke juice” machines. I think water is the way forward
Yeah true it's all a personal preference. Personally I've never had a big residue problem with the fog chiller made on the channel. But I love to look at all options for fog 😀 one day I'll have to pickup the fog monster 2. Glad to hear someone excited about it 😊
If you're looking for the humidifier, can also search Amazon/eBay for the term "Portable humidifier" or "Travel Humidifier". Might be able to find something similar
Yeah it's true it's not an option for everyone. You can minimise the condensation with how you place it, I've even just had it pointing upwards in games just for some chimney effects and there's been no water condensation.

Great tip! Thank you!
Is it necessary to modifie it? Can I just used it as sold?
Yeah there's a lot more options for misters that now include a water container. So if you can find something that works, it works!
