I'm loving the realistic, non-over produced, honest nature of your videos and narration. These just feel so real compared to many other channels, and the things you demonstrate all seem to fit in my wheelhouse as far as being within my abilities and interests. I also really like that you show the failures. It actually shows what not to do and why. (Naan and commercial dough pizzas: off the list.)
Hi Ray, thanks so much for the kind words and I'm so glad you like the videos. I try to be realistic and not too over the top so I'm really glad that is coming through. Ya the naan and Pillsbury dough definitely weren't that good for pizza. The homemade 2 ingredient naan was good for sandwiches so I would definitely recommend trying it out for that sometime. Thanks so much for watching. Cheers 🍻🍻🍻
Well said. He's a joy to watch
This is gold, gold I say😂😂. Mad respect Johnny, you are real as they come.
Thank you.
No you don't miss a 1yo or 3yo bed time I feel you brother love how real that was
Lol for sure.
I absolutely love your commentary. You sound like someone I would want to hang out with.
Tha ks Nathan! I really appreciate you watching.
Sacrifices us, dads, make for our families, the fact that he ate the ends of the bread that shows that not all heroes wear capes
Hahaha so true Wil. Thanks for watching.
Am I the only person on Earth that actually likes the heels?
@@joshiszkula211 I don't mind them either. I feel like they've gotten a bad rap.
I actually like those "end pieces," which is what we've always called them. I don't trim the crusts off either because I like the crusts on bread.
Yum. Love a simple idea for dinner. You need a pressure washer to rinse off the grill? last time to have grill cheese? What's next? Sort the things that might expire and throw them into a freezer to make ahead freshness? I always look to throw easy to grow vegetables into the grill shaved carrots spinach, artichoke Loved the idea of chicken tenders for fast cooking. How can you teach us to easily clean the grill ? where is your baking soda hidden just in case the grill catches fire? Hope all goes well for your dinner tonight my friend.
All I got to say is you must be a lot of fun at a party! Love your sense of humor.
Hahaha thanks Patricia. I've been known to have a good time once or twice 😏. I appreciate you watching and commenting, cheers! 🍻🍻🍻
I love your channel Johnny, just got myself the blackstone 4 burner with the airfryers underneath, love the ideas and the "real food for real people" kinda vibe. Keep making the vids, I'll keep watching!!
Thanks so much Loren and congrats on the new griddle. Ya that's funny you said that bc I though about using "real food for real people" as like a tagline but then I think I saw someone else do it and decided not to . That is what I'm going for though so I'm glad you feel like I'm accomplishing it. Thanks so much I really appreciate you watching.
New Blackstone owner here, thanks to the wife. Your videos are great my guy! You make it look super easy to make these meals. I'm going to fumble my way through my first cooks, but definitely watching these to help!
Awesome man congrats on the new Blackstone. Sounds like you got yourself a great wife. I'm glad my videos have been helpful. Thanks so much for watching.
That's funny, "You don't miss a 1 1/2 year old bedtime." 🤣🤣
“It’s like wrestling a greased pig that’ll pee on ya”…that’s hilarious and true.
Hahaha thanks Brent, glad you liked it.
Stubbs for the win!
Here in Wisconsin, everyone has their own barbeque "recipe" and swears their's is the best. Thanks for the video.
Hahaha that sounds like Chili hear in Ohio, everyone has a recipe. Thanks for always watching Dale.
I would totally watch a chili video
@@MrAndydavis78 I did one a while ago but maybe it's time for another! It's about that time of year football season and what not. Thanks for the suggestion.
Black olive comment... LOL... could not agree more!
😁😁😁keep fighting the good fight with me Christopher! Thanks for watching.
True class taking the heel of that loaf on the grilled cheese for the family. Love it!
Thanks Tyler, family comes first am I right. I appreciate you watching brother.
I too enjoy the web slinging antics of that wall crawling web-head, drinking beer, griddle cooking, torturing others with low-ball puns, and drinking beer. This channel is relevant to my interests and pleasingly positive. Subscribed.
Awesome man! Sounds like we're like minded people.
Love doing cheap and easy while I drink some beers thanks for the tips and keep them coming
You're welcome James, thanks for watching.
Having a set of pre-cooked meats portioned into the freezer gives you an amazing range of options for a quick meal. What I like about your channel is that it is so user friendly and assumes anyone can do this,
Thanks so much Lesley I'm glad you like it and feel like its user friendly. Also I agree totally about the meats, life is much easier with a freezer of meats.
Hey ,if you're interested I started using GHEE butter .Grocery stores sell it in a jar. ITS actually " clarified butter, non refrigerated, non burning butter . Works great on the griddle .
Thanks for the suggestion man. I've used it before and really liked it as well. It's a little pricey at my store so I don't use it all the time but it was great.
Quite easy to make at home. Although for ease of quick meals the store bought is good but more preservatives and junk.
The griddle master.
Thanks Scotty!
Glad to see you back at the griddle. I didn't realize y'all had such a busy schedule.
I like the recipes you present...I am not into fancy feasts.
Thanks brother ya I appreciate you checking up on me. This one just took me a while to get done. I always appreciate you watching.
As a fellow Ohioan, I love and respect your 4 season griddling acumen. Just got my blackstone seasoned. I'll be ready to get started soon. Watched a bunch of your videos. Love the humor and beer connoisseurship as well! Cheers!
Heck ya Shawn you no exactly what Im talking about with the "4 seasons in one week" thing. We gotta be ready for anything and the weather ain't stopping me. Congratulations on the new Blackstone and that ks for watching. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers 🍻
@Johnny Brunet looks like you're in Columbus. I'm in Dublin. Oh and that Nocterra place... those are my buddies lol
@@D1rtyCanad1an oh that's awesome I love Noctera. I used to work in Powell. My wife and I would go there after I got off. Put in a good word for me about getting a sponsorship lol 😂. I'm always trying to get free beer. Thanks for watching Shawn.
Love this guy
Thanks Hubert!
I too enjoy your casual, honest presentations, including what works better on a stove. I live alone and only make one grilled cheese, so my Blackstone even seems like a bit of overkill for that, but if I had to do more than one I'd definitely do them on my little one-burner BS.
I've been buying Kroger's shaved steak too, which I had never noticed before I saw it here. I like simple recipes that don't have thirty ingredients! Keep up the good work and God bless you and your family.
Tha ks so much, I'm so glad that you like the videos and find them helpful. Ya I love that Kroger shaved steak I'm glad I could introduce it to you. Its so easy and convenient. Tha ks so much for watching.
Always appreciate the quick and easy stuff, it doesn't always have to be an event! I never saw why you renamed the channel, glad you still crank these out
Hey Cory thanks, I'm glad you liked the easy meals. I just switched it to my name because that's what my website is and I wanted it to be consistent. I also want the ability to venture off the griddle at some point. I don't plan on doing it soon or a lot but I just wanted to have that option to see if I could one day maybe share like a chili recipe or my favorite breakfast casserole. Thanks so much for watching.
Keep on drinking and cooking love your show bought me a big flat top 4 burner seasoned but not used yet still using the baby flat top works great.
Thanks Mike I really appreciate you watching. Congratulations on the new griddle. Let me know if you have any questions buddy.
Great to see another vid, Johnny. Keep 'em comin 👍
Thanks, will do brother!
Thank you John easy watching, just starting out with the griddle and love a beer also etc
You're welcom Ian and thanks for watching. I'm always happy when a fellow beer drinker is watching.
Made some real simple tomato soup with my grilled cheese today. Sliced 6 tomatoes into thick steaks and tossed in some garlic. On the griddle till they were hot and had some color. Tossed in a blender with basil salt pepper. Best tomato soup I’ve had. Filled the blender cost around $8(edit: little bit of heavy cream too)
That sounds fantastic Robert!!! Thank you for sharing I need to give this a try. I was half way through reading this recipe and thought (is he going to throw in any cream or milk). Then I got to your edit at the end and started laughing. I always throw in a little cream too. Not a ton to overwhelm it but just a bit. Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks!
You are welcome Dayle, thank you so much for the super chat.
Damn, watching this makes me wish I was Johnny’s Neighbor.😂
Being new to griddling (new Blackstone 36" 4 burner) I'm appreciating your vids and much of your meals. Good step by step narrative along with each one. Thank you..and Subscribed.
Hey Randy, thanks so much for watching. I'm so glad that my videos have been helpful. Also congrats on the new griddle man. Thanks for subscribing and have a great weekend.
Great video Johnny Great common sense tips I love shredding my cheese for grilled cheese Appreciate your work
Oh ya shredding your own cheese is the only way to live😁😁😁. Thanks Randall

Always love your videos! This one was especially hilarious.
Thanks so much man.
"A greased pig that will pee on you" 😆 Sorry, but best laugh I've had in days.
Glad I could give you a laugh 😂. Thanks for watching.
Johnny your timing for this video is great. Like usual work is busy but also taking a class that meets on zoom so I will need quick meals at least 3 or 4 nights a week. I am making enchiladas and steak & cheese dinners this week. BTW no shame making sausage gravy with the mix, I do it. Just got to add sausage to serve it. Again great griddle cooks!
Hey Guy glad the timing of this video worked well for you. Sounds like you have a busy week but some great meals planned. Thanks for always watching buddy.
Excellent cooks Johnny. That chipotle shrimp, dang! Keep up the good work man!
Thanks Todd it turned out pretty good and I know you always have some Chipotle's on hand.
well done thanks
You're welcome Zimmy, thank you for watching.
Great videos man. Really enjoy them.
I know it doesn't sound too appealing, but Gouda and Kimchi for a grilled cheese sandwich... Delicious.
Thanks, and I'll give that a try.
I cant help but laugh at your sense of humor every time
Thanks!
I finally found a great deal 36” Blackstone 4 burner under $200 I did purchase a lid so it’s around $300 can’t wait to try it out !! Local fan !!!
Wow what a great price man! So glad you got one I know you've been watching and commenting for a while now. Glad you can start cooking on a griddle now. Bad good call on the lid you definitely need that.
You are a funny guy. I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you
Thanks man! I appreciate you watching.
impressed!
Thanks Moyia!
Johnny you are hilarious! Love your videos. Im in the market of buying a griddle and came across your videos. Got me sold. Thank you for the info and a nice laugh or two. Great job!
Hey Brian, thanks for all the kind words and I"m glad you like the videos. I hope you enjoy your griddle when you get it. There's def a learning curve but it's a lot of fun and very versatile. I appreciate you watching buddy.
😂. Love the olive comment. Who the heck puts olives in that?. Anyway. Yea. You are altogether fun sir !. I appreciate all you do and your videos !. Sorry if I miss spelled. Forgot my glasses 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks James!
New to the griddle and just found your channel. Love your videos!
Congratulations on the new griddle and thank you so much for watching. I hope these videos have been helpful.
Good job.
Thank you! Cheers!
This video makes me want to go prep some meals and listen to Toad the Wet Sprocket👍😊😜
Heck ya Bobbi! Do a whole 90's alt playlist maybe some possum kindom, Live, and STP to go with it.
We need to get you up to like 500k subs so you can maybe get home earlier and make more videos. Thanks for the entertaining and informative griddling lessons.
Hahaha thanks for the support Gary I appreciate all the kind words. I'm happy with the 50K that I got I honestly can't believe that I have that many sometimes. Thanks for watching brother.
Johnny, I love your channel! I am totally new to grilling and have learned a lot from you. I had picked up a small 2 zone Pit Boss griddle for camping but find myself using it all the time (upgrade in the future...should have watched your channel first?). The Pit Boss ran way too hot, and I could not get the temps down to your values. Ended up picking up a 0-5 psi regulator and a 0-5 psi gauge (Amazon). Now I am able to adjust temps any ware from 250 to 400 easily (usually run at 0.15 to 0.20 psi). What a difference...no more burned eggs. Thought I would pass that along. Thanks again for all of your help!
Hey Busky thanks so much for teh info about the regulator that sounds like a great solution. I am going to get on and give it a try.
felt that professional drinker line
Glad to find other "professionals" in my field 😁😁
Johnny You dog! Like your snarky comments and precise directions. Nicely done, With style but not to much. Thank You for the low key, smart blog. jimmy
Thanks Jes I'm so glad you like the videos buddy. I appreciate you watching, cheers 🍻
I’ll start my diet next week 😎
Go Blue Jackets!!
Love your channel 😊
Thanks Jenny, go Jackets!!!!
Oh, Johnny. I was tracking right along until you used the gravy packet. Brown you sausage, add flour, and the add milk. Best sausage gravy ever.
Thanks Don I appreciate you watching. Ya I've done sausage gravy a bunch I got a video on it too. I like to throw in a little bit of "The W" sauce in mine as well, and some butter. I just did this one with a packet to show an easy alternative for people.
New griddle owner and new subscriber. Love your videos also just bought your EBook, really looking forward to using that. Thanks again
Congrats on the new griddle and thanks so much for subscribing. Also I really appreciate you purchasing the ebook I hope its helpful. It's not the fancyest book but it's everything I know about the flat top. Have a good one brother.
Waiting on your next cookout johnny!! 🍻
For sure man, its coming soon!
Thumbs up for the head shake against olives in sloppy joes.
Hahaha thanks Guy, glad to see someone who's fighting the good fight with me.
We call that walking taco, Frito Pie here.
Can't believe quesadillas didn't make this list
Ya I know I had to make a cut somewhere and it was difficult. I do love quesadillas.
Love the channel, bought the griddle, told camp chef you said “hi”.
Thanks JJ!

Yo Johnny! Love the Channel!
Live in Cbus! “LETS GO JACKETS “!!
Hey Mike, thanks so much for watching and I'm glad you like the channel. Also hell ya lets go Jackets!!!!! I am so pumped for this year I can not wait. I know technically we're still a year or so away but what an off season man, this is going to be so much fun.
RIGHT ON! Hell ya! Me too! Can’t wait for the the puck to drop!! Thanks Johnny! Keep up the great videos! Making Cbus proud!
We have a Deep freezer, we’ve had for 35-37 years, and it’s still going. Having casserole to make and freeze for us would be fantastic mad I’m disabled 😢 and have health problems, there days I want to cook but..there days I hate cooking. It’s just to much time spent in the kitchen. So…yes…I’m looking for meals to make that make it better to help keep me more out of the kitchen for so..long. Thanks for your videos.
Wow that's a workhorse of a freezer if it's still working! I'm sorry to hear about your health problems. I hope this video gave you some good ideas and I appreciate you watching.
@@JohnnyBrunet the videos really help. Thank you.
Well done dude.
Thanks man, I appreciate you watching.
I got to know does RUclips police demonetize you for the beer? I am loving this..
No they haven't said anything. I don't think they mind the drinking but I'm not really sure. So far so good!🍻
😂😂😂😂Breast and Thighs though 😂😂 yes I do love them both
🤣🤣🤣
Love the Shirt. Sgt Peppers. Where’s the Bub Light? Great content and comments. Some of the best commentary and excuses on the internet. Continue the great work.
Hi Lynn glad you like the shirt it's one of my favorites! Ya no bud light in this one I switched it up to some other beers. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Love your low key commentary, but I feel compelled to say sour cream and sliced black olives are amazing!!
Thanks buddy. Hey I respect that and say yo each his own 😁
My mother called them one eyed Egyptians. She was born almost a century ago. Maybe a king tut craze thing. Said she saw it in a movie ….you hold up the bread to you eye and wink through it for good luck.
That's cool Gordy I'm going to remember that and have my son do it when he gets old enough to understand. Thanks for sharing.
If you have a ninja blender. Take those can of chipoltes in Adoba sauce and blend the whole can. It makes a great marinade for literally everything.
I did that once with shrimp and it turned out amazing!
“ everyone loves breasts and thighs”.
Truer words have never been spoken
😁😁😁
Love the videos, Johnny! I literally can’t even watch them without a beer in my hand. I know you cook in the winter. I live in Vermont, where it’s as cold as you’d ever want it to be. Any issues with the flat top in the winter? Tips and tricks? I asked Reddit and everyone just called me names. Thanks.
Hahaha I'm glad that I'm not drinking alone during the videos then. Sorry about your reddit experience but that seems to be a common theme. It's amazing how comfortable people are at being rude when their real identity is kept a secret.
My advice for cooking in the winter is to definitely warm it up on low. You don't want to shock the metal by preheating on high when it's been sitting in 5 degree weather all day. Also it may not get as hot as normal on certain settings so definitely have your infrared thermometer handy if you have one. If you don't have one I would highly recommend getting one for all year round. It's just a great resource. I hope that helps and thanks so much for watching.
We went on a camping trip a month ago. We bought a large pizza and only ate half of it. The next day, I pulled it out of the refrigerator and put it on the Blackstone to heat it up. Wow, it was better reheated than it was the day before.
I haven't done that Kevin but I have heard other people say the same thing that's crazy. I need to give it a try.
Lol professional drinker love it lol my man
Thanks William!
This really nice

Try searing the biscuits first.. I tried it once and can't have em any other way. Great video! Gave me some good ideas
That's a great idea John I will definitely give ve it a try.
Genius
Thanks Brett!
Got 3 kids lol. Gotta try the egg in a basket. And mayo on grilled cheese? What?! Gotta try that now.
Man i don't know how people do it with multiple kids we can barley figure out one! Ya def try the mayo it works out really well. Thanks for watching Sam.
When I use mayo to toast buns, I put some mayo on the griddle, then smooth it out a little and put the bun or bread on it. Little swirl and they are evenly coated. Use squirt mayo and nothing to wash! More beer time!
Great idea Kevin, I'm always a fan of anything that gives me more beer time.
Hi Johnny, I’ve been watching your videos since I bought my griddle in the spring ( which I absolutely love, and like you I now have 2, the other one is at my cabin). My question is: you mention working late, what is your real job?
Hey Roger, glad to meet another two griddle man!😄. Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it. I don't see work that late it's just usually until 6. My wife works until like 6:30 or 7 though bc she's a veterinarian. I work for a place in Columbus OH that sell fireplaces and grills. So I got a great job for making videos about cooking outside. Thanks again for watching brother.
Yoooo!! Thanks for sparking my curiosity into the world of griddles! I recently bought a Members Mark 5 burner griddle, seasoned it and am using it a couple of times a week. Love it! But I’m worried I’m kind of over killing it when I clean it, also I’m not sure if what I’m seeing in the surface is rust or just stuff left on the surface. Can you make a playlist just for seasoning, cleaning and maintaining the griddle? That would be great! Keep up the good content brotha, you’re a natural!
Hey man congrats on the new griddle. Ya the surface might have a small amount of rust on them it happens over time. The more you cook on it the more it will build back up. It's hard to keep it all a perfect black seasoning. I have a video where I used a grill brick to remove rust which I will link below and I will link my seasoning video as well. But first I'm going to link a video by my buddy Neil his channel is "the flat top king". He has a great video explaining the deference between routine cleaning and deep cleaning and when you should use a stone. It's all correct and I agree with 100% of what he says. He has a ton of experience as well working with flat tops. I hope that's helpful and thanks so much for watching.

Ya the cover is nice I found it on Amazon. Thanks for watching and I'll try to crank out more videos!
Johnny, do you have specific recipes for a 17" griddle. I only have one heat control and not several. Knowing that makes a difference, can you give me some ideas for a one control griddle? Thanks!!!!!
Unfortunately I do not. It does limit things a bit, but for the most part you can just do smaller versions of all meals. You just really need to pay attention to cooking order. Make sure you're putting down whatever takes the longest first.
