Good video!! I cleaned up the contact prongs about a year ago, but it's definitely time to solder on an extension - and I appreciate that you showed us the result of your efforts. TIP: Instead of melting (or gluing) the cover on, use tiny (flat head) wood screws - pre-tapping as to not split the plastic. This way, you can get back inside without any difficulty.
great...I feel the same about this sander. I really have learned to love it's flexibility over the years and when I died all of a sudden I had to buy a replacement. I'll give your repair a try and maybe I will get this sander back in service!
I was looking for a video that confirmed there is a ball and spring inside of these type of switches. These must must be what gives that feeling of "semi-click" resistance when you pull the trigger. Thanks for making this video and posting it!
beauxtx1959 Thanks. Thats a good idea too. I tend to have better luck with an iron on stuff like this because it's instant and I don't end up gluing my fingers!

Mine just stopped working today! I’ll give this a try, thanks!
I love the ending segment.
One question: I was thinking about breaking up an old 110V outlet and cannibalizing the brass contacts. Do you think that would work?
I think so. It couldn't hurt to try!
Thanks heaps mate I just fixed mine thanks to this video!!!
Perfect - many thanks!
Love your vids. Why not use super glue to put the switch case back together?
