I think adding the accessibility to play store unlocks a whole new level of usage for such devices. Cant wait to experience gathering all my reading material through the day with an app like pocket and reading it before bed. Perfect catch-up and perfect screen detox
Wow, this has everything! Even an SD card slot, which to me is one of the most important aspects! If I knew about it I would have bought this one instead of Pocket Book Inkpad Color. Well, I guess I'll wait until you release a new version with Kaleido 3 or 4. Price is not an issue. Just want a premium color reading experience.
Can't wait till this is the norm. EInk is gorgeous to look at. Wonder why they don't do a hybrid speed vs quality when scrolling fast and when it stops, quality kicks in.
Fantastic overview! Thank you so much for all these demonstrations! I really wanted to see what the actual product was like (I'm sure everyone does). It's everything I've been wanting in an e-Reader and for less than $800 even at normal price. Could you possibly demonstrate some pdf textbooks next time? Idk if it supports epub format, but if it does, I'd love to see how the "table of contents" menu appears for textbooks.
@@goodereader ...and highlighting in pdfs? -> Will you do the videos while the Kickstarter project is still live? PDF annotation and highlighting will decide whether or not I'll make use of my super early bird deal. I hope the InkNote Color has the same functions as the Remarkable 2 - only in colour!!
Very nice - can't wait to get mine! I'm hoping it will be the "best of both worlds" to replace my reMarkable 2 and Boox Nova Air C with a single device. BTW, I'm still a tad confused as to the differences between the other Bigme 10" color eInk devices... obviously the magnetically attached/charging stylus is new, but what are the other benefits or deficiencies of this InkNote Color versus the prior (more expensive) Bigme color devices?
Camera, card, and Android 11 all together in one package. The camera seems to be new. Other things like the SD card were offered on some devices and not others. I'm hoping there's been a boost in software sophistication on this.
This is a strict upgrade to all other 10.3 inch devices bigme has made. The price is lower because by working together they could reduce the workloads.
Are you guys gonna sell this at BestBuy? I feel like an in-store demo would be so cool. It's hard to tell how impressive the screen is in a RUclips video.
I have a Carve Color, which has the same screen and I can tell you how it is in person. In general it is the best screen for color, because of the size and the software. It has quite a few big drawbacks that can mostly be fixed with what that the bigme devices come with. Pros: 1. Colours are great, especially with the software color enhancement Bigme has. If colours are important to you, this pro alone is priceless. 2. It is very high res and despite what I have heard people say, I have never seen pixels, even for color which is supposed to be only 117 ppi. (I assume people are seeing something different that looks a bit like pixels, but I'll come to that in the cons) 3. The Frontlights are great and don't drain too much battery. 4. Writing feel is good. Cons: 1. The screen's white is very grey. This can be fully counteracted with the frontlight since more light on grey makes grey look just like white but the way this lit up white looks is slightly different to regular white of just whiter screens. 2. Battery usage. Multicolour complicated content that changes often takes up a lot of battery. If you consume mostly this content (e.g. browsing the web, watching animation, etc.) The device will not last longer than a regular smartphone. If you only draw, take notes and read then it can last you upwards of a week. 3. The layers on top of the screen. Not only does the distance of the surface and the actual screen make writing feel weird (your written lines will not be where your pen tip is from your viewing angle) if you don't calibrate your pen to perfection (if you do this problem is fixed), it also makes the reflection of the screen in the sun unpleasant and can make the screen look pixelated when it is actually really sharp (this mostly happens in direct sunlight or on high brightness frontlights). It gets more noticeable the closer you are to the screen. Imagine it like if you had a set of very thin oblique lines made of glass covering the surface of your screen. The way they bend the light makes the content below look like it goes along these these lines and like the resolution of the screen is as high as the amount of lines, but it is in reality much higher. It is not that big of a deal but I didn't know this was a thing when I bought the device.
I truly love how e-readers and e-ink note taking devices are getting so advanced, color, note taking, native android, ca we all be as excited as Peter showing the device?
I second the OneNote support. I've made a pledge, but will cnacel if OneNote isn't smooth enough, or a review of it isn't posted by next week. I'd also like to see how the app Kanji Study does, but I don't expect anyone to take the time to test that.
The global inking works on top of 3rd party apps like OneNote, so when turned on when using Onenote there isn't the delay. I have the previous generation B1 Pro Color and it works like this with the recent software update that Inknote is using. Btw, this works similaly to Boox when OneNote is 'optimized', but when not optimized OneNote on both Boox and Bigme delay is so bad it's unusable
@@tianspot also, thanks for chiming in. This has been the biggest enigma of this product so far for me. Follow up question to my last one... How well does that work/how is the experience?
Can you show what page turns in a color magazine look like with the top fast mode turned on, showing us the speed of the page turn and if there are any ghosting issues. Also, are handwritten notes searchable if they aren't directly converted to text (i.e. if they're kept as handwritten vs changed to text characters)
Wow, I wish I had known about this when the "43% off" offer was still available, right now it is just a bit too expensive for my pockets, otherwise I would buy it immediately!
Everyone tried to do as much marketing as possible to make the point clear. We also went through Kickstarter to heavily subsidize the top end price for everybody. But unfortunately we have to revert back to normal prices
Are they any plans in the future for a new device. I hate asking but there is nothing like getting one to just turn around and see a new one out. Also is it able to function in the states? Thank you for your assist
Why is there scrolling at all??? It should be as simple as pressing a button and the page turns... it's an ereader for books and magazines NOT for browsing websites or google play apps like it's a tablet.
Yes for sure, good question. We are going to do many more videos on this coming up. Gizmodo, Engadget, Android police, and Linus Tech tips are all going to review as well

In the kickstarter indicate this device gave 4 modes HD, HD 256, Normal and Speed mode, but in the video only saw 3 modes HD, normal and Speed...is because the software is ot finish yet or something? The PDF reader needs some more work. Its almost unusable for reading aloud large PDF documents because of scrolling / pagination issues. Otherwise good.

If you guys made this with only google play so I could download a few readers and just that I would be happy I don’t need all the extra bells and Whistles I just want to use it to read
Is there another way to charge the stylus or a special USB connector as I am thinking of buying a second stylus, which I may use on a different device?
Well, technically yes, the pins are just positive and negative, so you could essentially take two wires, and hook it up to an acceptable charging port with the correct amount of amperage and voltage, and it would probably charge. Hahaha

Curious where the Nova Air C stacks up against this on the ghosting. I read primarily manga, but I do want to see the nice color covers once in awhile. I read US comics too. I'd really love something that is like the Libra 2 from Kobo, but limit all unnecessary features. IE no need for Audio, video, notes, camera etc. Having Android 11 still rocks over all though.
