This is a prime example of how competition brings the A game out of companies. I love how Bigme and Boox are advancing the color e-paper market.
Now they just need another version without the cameras and 100 bucks cheaper.
They have one without cameras as well, coming up soon

I love the color e-ink. More interesting on reading magazines or manga. The colorful note taking is the best thing to have on e note plus the document scanner to consider. 👍👍👍

It's expensive but no doubt a long term investment which is a great escape from all the multimedia distractions of an usual device🔥😍

I wonder how much a camera adds to the BOM. It can't be that high at this point unless they go for an ultra-high quality camera. Otherwise it can't be more than a few dollars.

I'll admit. I've never quite understood the whole cameras on an e-reader, but this is still a neat device overall.

I think if you're in a meeting and there's a board/screen that everyone is looking at while taking notes or anything, you can use the laser pointer to easily point out what you're asking/talking about. Makes a lot of sense actually. :)
Love taking notes and it would have been a game changer. I guess will have to save some bucks to get it as new year gift ✌️

in my country indonesia onyx is still number one choice for reader. hope bigme can enter market here so we can try to use this device. bigme looks good. if you can compare with onyx, i'll glad to watch it

Glad to see they are pushing color screens. I hope that they will be able to increase the resolution in future generations in the next couple of years. But this device seems to be a really good option.

I'll never understand why bigme would make a pen that you need to charge and has a laser.
You don't need to charge it. You only need to charge it if you want to use the laser
The pen can be used completely normally even without batteries

The page scrolling of the kindle app looks very laggy, is that normal for big Me ink note series , or just the ink note lite as it has less RAM?
Can the frontlight be turned off completely?
All modern e-notes made after 2018 can turn the glow light off 100%
They should really offer the devices with or without mobile data from launch.
China is a completely different world than not-China.
If you look at ebook readers in general, a lot of them have built in 4G antennas just because of the way the infrastructure is over there

Possibly. Usually Kobo doesn't move the needle to strongly for us, but we will see what we can fit in :-)

Do you know if they'll have a version with more RAM and a better CPU soon? Cause if we are gonna use this as an "e-ink tablet" instead of "e-reader", it is expected to run multiple apps at the same time. e.g, if I want to run vscode on it, I'll need Termux, code-server, a browser, and maybe a few more processes from VScode plugins. I'm not sure even the "classic" version with 6G ram can handle it.
