I've worn several types of chastity devices so far and I'll just say that if you want to get out, even if you don't have the key, you can at the very least remove yourself from the tube fairly easily. If you're serious about security, and not being able to get out at all, a prince albert piercing is probably the only way to do so.

I go to bed and lock myself over night, keeping the key at an inconvenient distance from me so i wont be tempted to take it off at night. Bed time and early morning is the hardest..... Don't have to use it during the day.

And also, emergencies do happen unexpectedly. If you're self locked like me, my best advice is don't neglect yourself, and keep a key out of sight but close by just in case. You don't want to get hurt, especially severely or permanently. Pain is not normal. Neither are funky smells. Permanent chastity is a fantasy. Don't base your expectations off of that. Enjoy it for what it is and take it one day at a time. That's how you will enjoy it the most. Safely and responsibly.
