Chevy Silverado using GM's Ultium battery. What's so great about that? GM can't seem to be able to resolve the Bolt battery fires. Ultium batteries also?
It seems to me, if you combine the simple Cybertruck body and structure design, reduce the cabin size to three occupants, and only have one rear T/W motor, I see no reason that something under $20,000.00 could be made available soon!
Initially i thought the Cybertruck would be the first to market, then with the announced Texas factory production delay i thought maybe the Rivian, but thats still on hold too so maybe the Ford Lightning will be the first ? Tesla has shown that without competition they can easily raise the prices up higher to meet the demands ... so it pays to be the first on the market no matter how the specs compare between these 3 ...

How does having 3 motors get you so many more miles?? Will the battery pack be larger? You'd think 3 motors and the extra weight would make it get less miles with equal size battery packs. I'm thinking of getting the 2 motor, but I want 500 miles. If the tri-motor has a larger pack, I wonder if you could order a dual motor truck with the biggest battery pack? Or just make them all with the largest pack and give people the most mileage possible no matter how many motors the want. Should be interesting how the 4680 shakes out in real life. A model Y built in Texas with a 4680 battery will be sweet as well.
Dodge 2024. Just wanted to add it. Very exciting being a contractor and seeing these cool ideas especially Canoo although not great towing. If the CT tri can deliver what was promised then we will also keep the other reservations.
Where's the Badger? That's kind of a large omission from your list. It's easily one of the best-looking ET's coming out and has an optional H2 fuel cell range extender.
Great Wall are bringing out an EV truck in the near future (we call them Utes), may not rate well in the US but in some countries that will not see other options for some time they may be first to market.
I applaud Tesla for being the only company to redesign the truck, as with batteries a truck no longer needs a front engine bay and it’s shape does not need to be conventional. The other manufacturers simply lack imagination.
Yep, the microbus concept was super cool. But as Elon has said, it's terrible to see a great concept car that turns into a turd when it gets rolled out (I am paraphrasing obviously). The production samples or further prototypes spotted, look like garbage. VW will go out of business despite their CEO being way ahead of other legacy auto. Still too late to the game.
I hope we stick with ones with at least a prototype and factory when we discuss "Cybertruck Competition". Likes of Fisker will always have their entry in any type of vehicles where Tesla is. More relevant ones that should've been included are ones from China... the one that's actually selling.
With Berlin and Texas coming online late this year/early next year, there’s much more capacity to put it into production. Chips and battery supply issues will remain but there’s no reason why Tesla couldn’t get production going in 2022.
only truck with 6.5 ft bed - SOLD. i have a truck to carry stuff, if i want a 5ft bed, i would just get an SUV. regarding towing, i suspect battery will be 1/2 the range towing anything. E.V trucks should be about storage, not so much towing , at least not until 5+ years down the road when EVs are more advanced
Except the real pickups but then the cyber truck isn't meant for people that actually use pickups. It's meant for the affluent city dweller that sees Tesla as a status symbol. Guaranteed the only reason everyone is buying this thing is because its new and cool not because they call it a truck.
I saw the rivian truck driving around my city a couple of months ago. I didn’t know what it was when I first saw it but then when I looked up the rivian I realized that’s what I saw
You mentioned in a previous video that you were having suspension issues with your Y. I remember when you took delivery you had a company redo your suspension. Can you elaborate?
I'm going to say this up front, given current market conditions price projections the F-150 Lightning is the only legitimate cybertruck competitor at this time. The rivian and the Hummer EV are going to be too expensive, and the others are very likely to become vaporware. The cyber truck can’t have competition until is actually released. In fact there isn’t any competition because there are no electric trucks on the road.
And because that stainless steel is hardened, no more dimples on every door from jackasses in parking lots flinging their doors open and into the side of your vehicle.
It's all just shuffling deck chairs around on the Titanic (the SS Stellantis). Dodge isn't Dodge anymore either. They are all Stellantis until the next bankruptcy or merger.
I think it’s highly unlikely that the 250mi Cybertruck will ever be made. Towing a small UHaul with my Model Y, my Wh/mile went from 300 normally to 450 at 60 MPH and 600-900 at 75 MPH with high energy expenditure going uphill. If Tesla is reluctant to release a model Y with range in 200s with limited towing and payload needs, it seems unlikely to release the shorter range CT which would have even lower range at its intended use of towing/with payload.
Wether it be Tesla Ford or whoever, if your not buying the top tier of their vehicles, you’ll be lucky to have one in your driveway by 2024. Wish they would do first come, first serve.
At least one fifth wheel builder is designing a model that will clear the ‘wings’ of the bed. I think the others are only waiting to see when production of the Cybertruck really ramps up. That took over a year for the Model 3.
Cool roundup! i would have spent more time and given more props on the Rivian R1T and R1S - if specs and what we've already seen in testing become reality they are the best electric truck coming in the near future hands down.
I saw my first Fisker prototype in 2011. A lot of water has gone past since then and a product is still on the horizon. If Tesla can improve its consistently crappy build quality when Austin gets into production, I may bite then.

Seeing the Canoo makes you think “too conventional?” Huh?
Wasn't VW planning an electric Bus? Maybe not direct competition but it was a cool concept
You act like the cyber truck will actually come out in 2022
With Berlin and Texas coming online late this year/early next year, there’s much more capacity to put it into production.
Get a Y with a tow hitch and a 4x8 or bigger trailer BOOM local haller beast.
Atlas hood with Hyundai silver trim edge is a no-no for me
That Tesla truck definitely looks legit as far as being able to handle typical pickup duties. I'm surprised the starting price is as low as it is.
It's the exoskeleton.
Lets be honest, there is not going to be any truck actually competing with Tesla.
I cannot believe I was right 5 years ago. All of the eevee's would come around after 2023
You mentioned in a previous video that you were having suspension issues with your Y.
No it didn't lie I really want the canoe to be a successful truck because I think it looks cool.
Hard to predict market conditions.
The expensive ford matches the cheapest CT. No competition on price.
@3:00 Until you mention the *GigaPress* being used for _squirting out the _*_Front, Rear,_*_ and the _*_Battery Pan_*_ portions of the _*_CyberTruck,_*_ in mere seconds,_ you have just glossed over and missed the biggest advantage of the assembly process.
Putting together a *CyberTruck* from raw aluminum ingot to rolling product will take less than a *_day_* instead of more than a *_week._*
Aluminium? It’s stainless steel, isn’t it?
@@edwardhackett-jones8126 yes
@@edwardhackett-jones8126 the front and rear frame are cast aluminum. The body is stainless steel.
I wrote some days back Tesla S PLAID is 'QUEEN OF THE ROAD'
That being what it is CYBRTRK is 'KING OF THE ROAD'
Good luck disproving that after riding in a PLAID Version that l hope to 'cash-up' for when it arrives DownUnder in 2022 or early 2023.
Nice video
The cyber truck can’t have competition until is actually released. In fact there isn’t any competition because there are no electric trucks on the road.
I can't think of something funny to say
CT will be the worst work truck of all of the options. The sloping sidewalls of the bed make it a pain to load.
Just like everyone else you don't mention that Cyber truck has never wax never rust stainless steel body.
And because that stainless steel is hardened, no more dimples on every door from jackasses in parking lots flinging their doors open and into the side of your vehicle.
Let's not forget no 🎨 that should keep the price down too
Correction: Ford, Chevy, and Ram. Dodge doesn’t make a truck anymore. Ram is it’s own brand and is no longer a Dodge.
It's all just shuffling deck chairs around on the Titanic (the SS Stellantis). Dodge isn't Dodge anymore either. They are all Stellantis until the next bankruptcy or merger.
Only cybertruck will have FSD.
Im sorry but the Bollinger specs/price is sad. I know new car companies have to start somewhere but its really bad.
You already make a video like that, come on brotha. Déjà-vu
I need an electric 3 row suv that’s cheaper than rivian. I’m looking at you Toyota!!! Sequoia or even 4Runner!! Cmooooon!!!
I think you misinformed your viewers on LMC. You were reading from the short sellers talking points and not recent statements from lordstown Motors.
Will the Cybertruck be able to pull a fifth wheel with the odd design of the bed?....will it have trailer assist for reversing like Ford?
At least one fifth wheel builder is designing a model that will clear the ‘wings’ of the bed. I think the others are only waiting to see when production of the Cybertruck really ramps up. That took over a year for the Model 3.
Cool roundup! i would have spent more time and given more props on the Rivian R1T and R1S - if specs and what we've already seen in testing become reality they are the best electric truck coming in the near future hands down.
8 cars/trucks on Fords lot…. Hopefully still have Ford dealerships in 2022.
I saw my first Fisker prototype in 2011. A lot of water has gone past since then and a product is still on the horizon. If Tesla can improve its consistently crappy build quality when Austin gets into production, I may bite then.
Sandy Munro, has said for years now the panel gaps and other issues like paint quality have been fully resolved.
You haven't been paying attention. Tesla's build quality has improved significantly over the past year.
