I’ve been watching this on repeat! This keyboard is definitely on my wishlist. I love the layout, you get the usability of the numpad but not the massive size of a full size

Did you just remove the tape and put it back for the sound test? or is it impossible to remove it without it tearring

Those osume keycaps look so crisp and clean, sis 😭
Hey hey welcome back 🎉 arghh monsgeek keebs.. I've been debating on getting one for so long bc I wanted my first alu keeb but I was torn between getting a budget one or the premium ones (been eyeing the zoom75 as we speak but I've never done group buys before.. And no moneysss 😭).
I also kinda wanted one with a silver case too to match a keycap set I have in mind. Your video gave me a good idea how a silver monsgeek case looks like so I can picture how it looks like. I'm surprised by how much foam there is in the keeb - and they give tape for us to tape mod?? 😮
You had two configs here... One with tape and one without pcb foam. What's pcb foam btw? Is that the foam between pcb and plate? All these foams are making me confused. What seems to have the deeper but less muted sound, do you think?
(I'm so curious what your upcoming purple alu keeb is hehe). 😂
Also akko snow blue gray is such a pretty colour for switches. Do you think they need lubing or are good stock?
Final thoughts about the monsgeek kb? (I was eyeing their m1 actually) Is it worth getting? Affordable and worth it as a daily driver? Any drawbacks/cons while building it?
Thanks for the build as always ❤🎉

i think monsgeek alu keebs in general are great especially for the value. old flaws of monsgeek m1 is fixed in the new m1 versions (like the jst interference). but if you're already spending extra money, i would save up for something you really want aka the zoom75. I was actually looking at the zoom75 as well but i've already bought the qk75 during the gb!
yes all of those foams and the tape are all included! which keycaps set did you have in mind?
pcb back foam is just another foam to dampen the sound! I do hear it now that you say that; it's definitely less muted than the tape mod.
im sure by now you know !! lol
it's an amazing color and i am in love with it! it comes unlubed and imo, its always better to lube unlubed switches as they just sound wayy smoother!!!
as my first alu keeb, i couldn't complain at all especially at its price. it may be a deal breaker for people as it is not wireless but honestly for me it's not a problem. alu keebs are so heavy i wouldn't be bringing this anywhere else other than being at my desk lol. i do love it as my daily driver - it's easily moddable (if thats a word lol?), compatible with QMK/VIA! (which i need to play around with more) and for what i do right now the numpad is a great addition.

@@poongie Thanks for the reply sis 😊 Since you've partaken in a gb before, how's your experience of it? (The buying and waiting process so far) I heard from some vids that they're not worth it and it's better to get keebs that are in stock. They also say budget boards are almost as good as the premium ones you get from gb so I'm in a dilemma haha. 😂 like I kinda want a premium but I don't fancy the waiting and the high cost but at the same time, those keebs look so prettyy 😢

how do you do force break mod??

    • @poongie
      @poongie  Год назад

so essentially you place 2-3 layers of tape on both sides of all the screw holes to prevent the metal on metal contact. i only applied one layer bec i had teflon pad which is kind of 2-3 layers of painters tape
