Attention sponsors: Andy deserves your sponsorship! This channel resonates with the majority of golfers, average people, not golf professionals or young athletes bombing 325 yard drives. I love everything about the format of this channel. Part travelogue, part golf, part visiting with a fellow kindred spirit. Keep up the amazing, scenic, and beautiful work Andy.
I've said it before, to me, playing golf is about more than playing the game. The beautiful scenery, the camaraderie and the memories are all part of this game that we all love. The scenery INCLUDES the places we stay as well as the courses we play. You take advantage of all those offers but at the core, don't change what you're doing. Thanks for the video Andy.
Andy your laid back delivery style and the time to show off the course and the area is what makes your channel so enjoyable. I have a mate who occasional wants to just walk the course with me and enjoy a pint after, the serenity when in the course is what always strikes him. Hope you manage to get your videos out over the next few months, in my region we have had for July to Dec at least 40% more rain than normal and the clay soil mean the courses struggle once the clay is sodden and take a while to dry, our winter leagues have missed 50% of available dates.
Andy, as a American citizen living in California, seeing the beauty of European courses it's great. Doing something different than a lot of channels doing product review's and training is refreshing. Hoping sponsors will come forward for you.keep it up
So much this. Im going to be in the UK in July on vacation and while im not going to be playing golf, the places Andy shows definitely opens up some possibilities to at least visit and maybe even overnight in some of these beautiful hotels. Would love to by Andy a pint too if it were possible.
I turn 73 in July. I have played at golf most of my adult life. Anyone could beat me at golf, but NO ONE can beat me at having fun playing golf. After retiring almost a year ago I picked up my clubs after a 10 year layoff. I was as terrible as always. But now retired, I decided to take lessons for the first time in my life. Since last October I've been with my coach once a week & in my back yard at my net working on my swing, I'm pleased to say I am making improvements right along. I am fortunate to live in Arizona of the U.S. so the weather is not an issue for me. I stumbled upon your videos and quite enjoy them. Nice to see someone close to my age giving me hope. I've subscribed to your channel and hope to be playing as well as (dare I hope better than) you soon. Thanks for the inspiration.
I’m loving your content recently Andy and I’m being more and more drawn in by your transparency and conversational style. I really feel part of your community because of it. Your golf content speaks for itself but in a crowded golf RUclips market, your style, approach and character really set you apart. The UK winter is disrupting everyone’s golf plans so don’t worry about it getting in the way of your videos. We’ll appreciate them all the more when the weather improves!
Breath of fresh air Andy. Other channels take note. Golf is not all about course vlogs where a group play each other it’s the scenery, the vibe the people and the history. No one cares what score you shot. Golf to me is more than hitting a ball. The experience and the travel and meeting new people can only enrich your life. Oh and Scotland never disappoints 😊
As I USA citizen in the Pacific Northwest of the US, I love this series! I hope your sponsors continue to support you! Our father's ancestor came to the US from Scotland as an indentured servant. I'd love to visit and play golf in the UK! Keep this series up! Fantastic!
Great work Andy! Extremely happy to hear that you are going to be getting the support needed to continue this series. I am sure you will be at 100K in subscribers soon. I really hope I can get out to the UK one of these summers to play just one of these courses! Simply incredible.
Nice one Andy 👍 just getting back in to golf after a couple of years of so looking forward to catching up on your channel! Great to see you are still visiting n.b!!!
Hi Andy. I prefer it when you stay at hotels etc. Most people haven't got a van they can stay in overnight so if you are going on a golfing trip away you need some accommodation ideas. Also no need to apologise for the UK weather - you can't control that one! Looking forward to next week's ep!
Andy, I am so happy for you. There is no channel more deserving, bringing content that honors the game and the courses. Additionally, your unbiased reviews of clubs based on the average golfer on the course as well as the indoor range is unrivaled. I am with you to watch, to understand, and to marvel.
I hope your sponsors will continue all year if it means you can keep up the fantastic content, Andy. These are my favourite golf videos on RUclips. I don't think anyone comes close to them cinematically (hats off to Tracy), and the B roll content, including the hotels, rounds off each beautifully. If I were going around the country to shoot videos like these, setting off at God knows what time of the morning, driving for hours and finishing late, I'd prefer a nice warm bed and some delicious food to round off the day, rather than a cold van! So fill your boots with great hotels stays too. You deserve it.
We’re along for the ride, Andy. The golf is great, but I’m interested in the hotels and surrounding area too. I’ve said before your content is unique because it’s relatable to more of us out here in the real, non PGA Pro world. Want an example?…At Christmas I tried out and put in my bag the TM Brnr driver off the back of your comments and your comments alone, then today I was talking to a non-golfing mate about his future idea of touring using a motorhome and I showed him one of your episodes. Your channel connects on so many levels. Oh, and if the golf gets weathered off let’s still have the photo competition using the surroundings - hotel, village, whatever, get creative. Keep up the great work, I thought for one minute I’d have nothing to watch after Monday nights tea. Phew!
@@TheAverageGolfer Feedback is important, and if you’re okay with it I’m happy to give my two penn'orth. Right, I was late to the Andy Show, looks like I’ve got nine years of video catching up to do. Best get started!
Hello Andy. You have been very open to your subscribers with how you wanted to run this series on this channel. The folks that can't get past the fact that you aren't in the trailer and go rent one and spend a few nights in the cold. The fact that you have these amazing golf resorts and hotels wanting to give you free golf and accommodations is a testament to how influential your channel has become. Please do not change what you are doing. Love the new content.
Good to hear from you. Yes if you missed a week we would start to worry 'bout ya. Having hospitality venues support your efforts is great. I enjoy seeing the local establishments. So much more quaint than here in the US. I would love to see a travel guide listing" reasonably" priced courses and available accommodations. Maybe in the future.
Great stuff Andy, onwards & upwards. I really look forward to these episodes, and funny enough over the winter months, the struggles you go through but you battle away to get the videos out when you can. Keep them coming. Look forward to the next.
You,your wife and daughter have made this the best golf channel to watch as it’s like being in your living room and talking and watching golf with an old friend. We trust your judgment in selecting the right sponsors to be part of “The Average Golfer”. Never been there but it looks like St. Andrew’s.
Glad to hear that the manufacturers of golf products see the same value of your efforts that we as viewers do. I can as many others do enjoy the fact that you are not a PGA Pro with 115 mph driver club head speed as it makes it so much easier to relate to your views and opinions. Your channel and Liam Harrisons channel (Golf Mates) are the two bright spots of viewing golf content on RUclips! Keep up the fantastic work and as far as any manufacturers that may be tuning in, I have to say that supporting Andy can only be a positive for your company...no just quit making your clubs and/or accessories so dang expensive and we as consumers will be alot happier parting with our hard earned cash, look at it as my Grandfather used to tell me about a business model: I would rather make $10 ten times from a customer than $100 once because if that customer came back 10 times, he will come back another 10 and another 10
Andy I have to say that I personally really enjoy the new content. Being in the USA, I would love to see a tour company partner with you. So, we could arrange tours to some of these awesome courses that you are sharing with us!!! Hope everything with the sponsors go well for you. I would hate to see this series end. I look forward to it each week. Each of us need to encourage our golfing friends to watch the videos to increase your subscribers. Great job, much success to you and Tracy!!!
Great video Andy. I go up to play in Scotland in March every year. Played some great courses. The Glen, Gullane , kilspindie to name a few. Enjoy your time up there. The people are very friendly and the golf courses are superb.
Hey Andy, it's great to se you up in Scotland on the east coast. I'm originally from Edinburgh but now live in Nova Scotia. I hope you get the chance to come over to Canada one summer. We have some stunning courses in Nova Scotia. I had to get away from our cold winters though and am currently in the Algarve. My local course here is called Salgados. It's a pretty quirky course with lots of water. Just loving the warm days.
Andy we would love to have you. I am next door to him in New Brunswick we also have beautiful courses as does our island neighbor Prince Edward Island. Glad to here about the sponsors and as always you guys are giving us great content!😊
Hi Andy, really love the new direction you are taking the channel in. Just so many boring golf videos on RUclips, supposedly teaching you how to play, or just promoting themselves . Your videos showing the beautiful courses, and hotels, is inspiring makes me want to get out there and experience it myself. Hope you get some good sponsors, then you can showcase their products during your videos. Well done.
This channel went from alright to fantastic now that Andy films the way he feels comes more naturally to him. Please keep the style you have going. Also love the coffee and food intro’s and outro’s
The professional way the content is videoed, photographed and edited, speaks volumes and so many golf, and golf related brands will benefit from linking themselves to The Average Golfer channel. The subscribers are loyal and appreciate the content and the people responsible for that content, including all sponsors. But the main man, Andy, needs to take a bow. Thanks Andy and family, who support you in all you do for those who care.
I love everything about your content, and the fact that you're so open with us viewers makes the channel more appealing. And I've seen another guy's comment about you not doing scrambles etc, but I personally like the thought of it. It mixes up your apples and oranges of content.
Recognised it immediately, played it with my dearly departed mate for many years in the amateur open first sunday in july, stayed in an old farmhouse opposite the old clubhouse at Gullane.
Big fan of the new approach to the channel. Love the pace and that sponsors see the value and are keen to align with the channel. I do like the hotel stays and can see the value in a golf/travel hybrid channel of sorts. I’ll be watching either way. PS When you coming to Australia for a hit?
Well done again evolving the channel Andy. I’ve said in the past I found it difficult to be a regular viewer of the channel watching you just play with the latest and greatest equipment all the time. I do like the reviews but it’s hard to watch club reviews and things all the time when you’re not considering changing. And no offence but you’re living proof new gear doesn’t make you a scratch golfer 😂 These weekly episodes are a good watch and really happy you’re getting venues reaching out and sponsors to keep the episodes coming.
Thanks for the videos Andy. I personally love travelling with my wife around Ireland and whilst she enjoys the spa/pool I enjoy playing a solo round on the nearest golf course to the hotel. Keep up the good work.
Hey Andy we’re here for you from Canada! Enjoy the channel keep things are Rollin we’re behind you 100% and hope everything in your dreams come true. It can happen! Cheers from the cold country
North Berwick West been many years since I played it. We had to leave the course mid round due to flooding but what a laugh we had. Crazy golf at its best. The other North Berwick course the Glen is worth a mention to. We stayed in a B and B overlooking the west course our budget not running to the posh hotel but I have to say one of the best golfing trips every. North Berwick and the area in general has such a lot to offer in its St Andrews like "course in the heart of the town" way. Good memories ❤
Great news And. I'm happy to 'entertain' any number of sponsor messages and product mentions/placements if it means you can keep producing your unique style of content. I particularly enjoy the wonderfully cinamatic course travel vlogs, but also love to see the tremendous accomodation options, local points of interest, and just 'having a chat'. If you weave in some product testing and golf challenges, that will be fun too. Looking forward to next week's content. Play well.
No apologies needed. Weather impacts every "average" golfer no matter where you live. (Even here in Arizona) I hope your sponsor realize that these places you are staying at are impacting my future travel / golf outings out towards your area of the world. I wish you and your wife much success - Keep doing what you are doing. Looking forward to seeing your content every week. Could you please add in your travels what are the best times of the year to travel to those locations? It would help us "foreigners" what times of the year give us the best chance for success. Thank you very much!
Looking forward to seeing more of the course and surrounding scenery in next week's episode. Thanks for keeping us updated about the behind the scenes issues - I don't blame you for taking up the offer of a Hotel room over the camper van - it must have been a really tough decision....🤣
I love the country side you have traveled. As an American, I enjoy what is available in other countries as to golf courses and the scenery. I do like the golf clubs used or going to use in addition to the little know courses. Keep it up.
Andy, you’re filming on my favorite course - its a wonderful track & never gets old. In addition, the town is a great place to stay. Don’t miss playing Dunbar - fabulous! Keep up these vids - great to see one of us normal golfers in action
It is a refreshing view of golf, not just club reviews and some kind of personal challenge. but the countryside views and unusual golf courses are awesome stuff! Keep it up! and thanks!
Even stylish without golf, Andy. Have you played the 18 hole links mini putt? Can't wait for next week. I, for one, love a little variety thrown in. All the best
Fingers crossed Andy, that you can your unique programme going. Its lovely to watch and the scenery is usually amazing. I also like your reviews on new golf products. So keep up the good work.
Andy - as I sit here in Brisbane Australia I keep thinking and asking myself why you are called The Average Golfer. Your golf game, video skills and communication skills are anything but average. I love this format and I think the photo comp is genius. Having Lewis back will also add to the channel. Congrats - keep going. Cheers from Downunder.
Quality will always beat quantity hands down. Keep doing what your doing and embrace the hotels and sponsors if it keeps you moving forward. Have a break from the new format on a regular basis, but do not sell out the new format completely. It's what makes you unique.
Always look forward to your videos and the adventure you are on. Good luck to you, as I’ve played some of them, but the gentle way you put the courses, scenery and the accomodation to us is excellent. Also the common sense point of view with the club performances ate.
Apologies unnecessary - weather, my round of golf at Barbados Golf Club ‘rained off’ (290124) - so nobody immune to weather. Still watching in 29 degree temps (at 2125h). Lewis a welcome return 😊 Special shout out to Rockley GC, men and lady captain together with members and absolute treat - Old course at Sandy Lane planned
Have to commend the honesty and transparency 👏 very refreshing within the RUclips golf space. Really enjoying the new series and imo, the odd plug of brands to keep the channel going shouldn’t put people off. Keep battling the weather & room service 😉
Great news Andy. Well done with the new direction, potential sponsors and quality of the videos. Nice to hear such honesty and stick to your principles. It works ! 👍
Always good to your mate on the channel, the weather last week was a nightmare so it's no wonder that your plans were disrupted. Keep up the good work👍👍
Played North Berwick with mates from my first golf club in Darlington about 40 years ago, a fantastic course. It was about £50 for the day and our accommodation at the Castle Inn Dirleton was £10.50 a night b&b, a little more expensive today 🙁 we thought of playing it this year on our annual Scotland trip, but it’s fully booked for all of 2024, 2025 tee times come out in April this year 🤔
Glad to hear that you're getting some sponsors on board. The fantastic content and first rate quality videos that you produce will be advantageous to any company that chooses to get involved. Best of luck going forward Andy and can't wait to see the upcoming content.
Hi Andy, I've been there many a time. In fact an ex of mines Mum & Aunt worked at the Marine Hotel many many years ago. I haven't played any golf there (yet).so looking forward to the vids. Congrats on the sponsorship. Your vlogs are class and a completely different take on golf. Keep up the good work (and the photo comp, of course)
I really enjoy seeing the great places that you get to stay in. That is certainly better than watching you stuck in the van or looking for a place to park for the night.
Tracy the shot of gentle waves lapping into the camera, pure class. Even if it's not a golf photo, having the chance to add to the comments will still tell YT you've got engaged audience, just saying.
Andy, i have just come back to the channel and re-subscribed. loving the current content, the scenery and your laid back style. Thanks to you and your small team for the content and regular posts.
Thanks for the video, Andy. Love your transparency, love listening to what goes on behind the scenes etc. Take all the nice hotels, you deserve it, as long as we get our weekly high quality video, deal? 😃
As a guy not from there maybe on rainy days you can feature the town and how the golf course is viewed by local businesses? Like I'm from weed CA and the golf course there is mostly ignored but several courses nearby bring in a tourism. Just a thought. All the recent content including this one has been great
Looking forward to seeing how the channel develops. Come across the Firth to Fife and try some of the smaller courses, I think you would be pleasantly surprised.
Very happy to hear that you've made progress to ensure the continuity of this channel. Keep going and please do not concern yourself about "commercial compromise". We all trust you to be an average golfer and sincere in this role.
Andy, been a subscriber for a few years now. You channel is real and gives a refreshing but calmness to the viewer. You capture the beauty of what golf is about. I hope the sponsors come flooding in. Keep it up 👍🏻
Hi Andy..when it comes to the Ireland visits, be sure to shout out where u r gonna be and u can be sure you will have a great welcome and great company...looking forward to it cos u could spend a year here and still need to see more😮.. looking forward to it
Great viewing even without a ball being struck which says a lot about the appeal of your content. Where in Ireland are you visiting, is in the Dublin area convenient for the ferry or some of the great links on the WAW ?
Come Down Under mate in your winter - no problem with the weather for filming and some great tracks to lose balls on and unbelievable coffee venues. Your channel is unique IMO - you should get my wife on there - she has a Jim Furyk like swing and her 29 handicap would give you a game!! Carry on the Postman.
Evening andy, good to hear future sponsers are interested in you and the channel, really hope it all works out so you can keep up the varied and interesting content and future travels. Things are looking very bright.
Always quality content Andy - you’d be welcome up to my home course - Stonehaven fairly short but tricky and some epic views - it’s a james braid course - good choices on the way too - Monifieth, panmure, Carnoustie Arbroath Montrose and beyond to cruden bay and Fraserburgh
I live near Chicago so I can appreciate the frustration with bad weather. I am looking forward to next week's content. I also have to say I like the hotel stay and content.
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Helps us get thru the winter here in New England! Ten more weeks and we will be back out where we belong! Chasing that little white ball! Until then, thank heaven for simulators!
Andy, thank you for posting such great videos, please keep up the good work. I wish you/your team the best of luck in finding the right sponsor to continue supporting this great RUclips golf channel!
Andy, please know that this is NOT intended as a negative comment - - - > Over the course of my 40 years of working I have learned that I can still be blamed when it's not my fault! Keep up the excellent work!
From Tennessee, USA and love your new format, Andy. Keep up the good work. I understand the need for sponsors, but I hope you can keep your independence while gaining some support.
Hi Andy - just watched the video and see the comments coming in from far and wide ... I'm sitting in my house less than 100 yards from the Marine 😁 Have a great trip and I'll say hi if I see you out and about!

And no offence but you’re living proof new gear doesn’t make you a scratch golfer 😂
These weekly episodes are a good watch and really happy you’re getting venues reaching out and sponsors to keep the episodes coming.
Thanks for the videos Andy. I personally love travelling with my wife around Ireland and whilst she enjoys the spa/pool I enjoy playing a solo round on the nearest golf course to the hotel. Keep up the good work.
I enjoy your authentic demeanor, course photos, gameplay dialogue and accomodation reveals!
Cheers to more of your upcoming sucesses!🎉
You're helping me getting through winter here in Québec Canada. The quality of your video productions are outstanding.
Play well.
Just as a heads up - in portions of this video there's only audio in the left channel - not sure if something is up with your camera mic
Not sure Arizona ever gets this cold😂 I will try and include more detail on the travel as we try and improve the content, all ideas welcome 🙏
Keep it up! and thanks!
Loving the content, Andy! Please include the accommodations. Beautiful courses and beautiful hotels. Very enjoyable.
Hi Andy, I know you like to use a carry bag .. what's you favourite and what should i look for in a carry bag ?
great content thanks
Great video Andy, North Berwick is awesome, enjoy the round !!
Quality will always beat quantity hands down. Keep doing what your doing and embrace the hotels and sponsors if it keeps you moving forward. Have a break from the new format on a regular basis, but do not sell out the new format completely. It's what makes you unique.
Thanks that’s the plan
Thanks for a golf tour channel since I have never had the pleasure of golf in Europe. No apologies needed.
I just love seeing all of the courses and the excellent camera work. This newer direction is a feast for the eyes
Fantastic new Andy and I can’t wait to see you in Ireland. It will be interesting to see where you end up.
Your honesty is always appreciated Andy. Looking forward to another chapter. Cheers from (a pom in) Oz!
You have given us a reason to look forward to Mondays and really enjoy the content.
Have to commend the honesty and transparency 👏 very refreshing within the RUclips golf space. Really enjoying the new series and imo, the odd plug of brands to keep the channel going shouldn’t put people off. Keep battling the weather & room service 😉
Your videos are stunning and very unique. I am most interested in off the tourist track places. Good job !!
Just getting ready to head out for a round in a drizzly wet Norfolk. Roll on the Spring. Well done Andy, look forward to next week.
Great news Andy. Well done with the new direction, potential sponsors and quality of the videos. Nice to hear such honesty and stick to your principles. It works ! 👍
Cheers bud
Always good to your mate on the channel, the weather last week was a nightmare so it's no wonder that your plans were disrupted. Keep up the good work👍👍
Can not wait to see the course and how the journey keep moving matey!
Here ya’ go…light and day from 4-5 years ago. Very chill and experiential. Love it. ❤
Hi Andy just had a round at Cleethorpes and it was Baltic 😮 I wouldn't be staying in the van either mate 😂😂
Thanks for the video, Andy. Love your transparency, love listening to what goes on behind the scenes etc. Take all the nice hotels, you deserve it, as long as we get our weekly high quality video, deal? 😃
Thanks, will do!
Thanks for the updates Andy. I enjoy your posts.
I think showing a Hotel within the video is a great idea. Definitely makes a difference to the normal Tubers.
You will see a lot of this one!
As a guy not from there maybe on rainy days you can feature the town and how the golf course is viewed by local businesses? Like I'm from weed CA and the golf course there is mostly ignored but several courses nearby bring in a tourism. Just a thought. All the recent content including this one has been great
Keep up the good work. Love your content. Considering the purchase of the Takomo irons this spring.
I look forward to any content you create.....your unique perspective is a great way to enjoy this great game
So jealous Andy. Stayed at Marine in Nov. Excellent service but sadly no golf. NB is in my top 3 courses ever and can't wait to see the film. 👌
Looking forward to seeing how the channel develops. Come across the Firth to Fife and try some of the smaller courses, I think you would be pleasantly surprised.
We are there in March 👍
Thanks for the update Andy. Excited to see what's coming and to see Lewis back on the channel!
Very happy to hear that you've made progress to ensure the continuity of this channel. Keep going and please do not concern yourself about "commercial compromise". We all trust you to be an average golfer and sincere in this role.
Thanks Ian
Andy, been a subscriber for a few years now. You channel is real and gives a refreshing but calmness to the viewer. You capture the beauty of what golf is about. I hope the sponsors come flooding in. Keep it up 👍🏻
Thanks for the long time support 🙏
Hi Andy..when it comes to the Ireland visits, be sure to shout out where u r gonna be and u can be sure you will have a great welcome and great company...looking forward to it cos u could spend a year here and still need to see more😮.. looking forward to it
Great viewing even without a ball being struck which says a lot about the appeal of your content. Where in Ireland are you visiting, is in the Dublin area convenient for the ferry or some of the great links on the WAW ?
Great video as always. Can’t wait to see future videos. I love your reviews on clubs and equipment also.
Love the content, Andy. Keep up the great work! I'm so glad you've got the sponsorship you were looking for.
I filmed there a few years ago Mike, enjoyed it, maybe I should rerun the old episodes from Scotland
I live near Chicago so I can appreciate the frustration with bad weather. I am looking forward to next week's content. I also have to say I like the hotel stay and content.
Appreciate the update Andy. Hope the future is bright!!
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Helps us get thru the winter here in New England! Ten more weeks and we will be back out where we belong! Chasing that little white ball! Until then, thank heaven for simulators!
Have fun!
Love North Berwick, have friends close by and have played it a number of times… a joy. Looking forward to seeing you play it yourself 👍🏻
Got to love Andy's passion for funky coffee makers. Something we share 100% here at St Andrews Bakery.
Andy, thank you for posting such great videos, please keep up the good work. I wish you/your team the best of luck in finding the right sponsor to continue supporting this great RUclips golf channel!
Looking forward to next week! North Berwick is such a fun course.
Hope the weather (and sponsorships) take a turn for the better. Missing your laid back golf videos.
Hi Andy - just watched the video and see the comments coming in from far and wide ... I'm sitting in my house less than 100 yards from the Marine 😁 Have a great trip and I'll say hi if I see you out and about!
Hopefully we bump into each other!
So exciting for the future videos (and give aways). You voice and the scenery are so soothing!
