The first step in chemo is cutting out the activism. Promoting social causes takes away from the core goal of any corporation - Creating return customers
@@kcisthe1stI don’t think that is so much of an issue because it’s same activist that made tfs. They just need to make sure it doesn’t become the number one issue
And there’s a cure. Rather they implement the fire or put it in hospice is the question. As for the devs, they got to pad stat their resumes. Being laid off sucks but you do get invaluable experience. Hopefullyc the majority land on their feet and for the more motivated ones willing to take big risks maybe they start their own studio.
I’d quit over that, so im glad they fought to keep me as a player. It’s one of the most fun things ive ever done in a game since sword canceling and super jumps in halo 2.
Me currently planning a build video and 26:25 shows up xDDDD fr tho good video, I can't help but feel uncertain about D2's future, but the way I see it, we still have 2 episodes 2 dungeons and 1 raid to go in the next year of content, so assuming that doesn't change I still think for at least another year things will be alright, but after that who knows...for me at least I'm sticking with it 100% for the next year but again after that it's really up in the air
Atta guy. Keep making the videos you want to make! They're great and the passion comes across in the videos. I know you wouldn't spend hours testing on Greg and Templar if you didn't care about what you were doing. Keep it up!
I get the shade for Plunder. His thumbnails are definitely the epitome of clickbait and he always hits that 8 minute mark, without fail. That being said... I've used many of his builds and most of them are bangers. I also like how he presents them. I'm sure he gets "inspiration" from other creators, but it's not like he doesn't do any work at all.
Over the last year Tizzle, you’ve easily become my favorite destiny content creator. Wether a video is marketed towards the larger destiny community, or a more niche side (such as solo grandmaster content) it’s painfully obvious you love this franchise as much as all the people who watch you play it, and I respect you staying true to the content you like to make. Your community has passion for the game, and if nothing else that’s something that destiny players will always hold on to no matter where the franchise goes next. I just want to voice my respect for you and this community, and say regardless of where we end up we can say that we experienced greatness together, no matter how sour of a taste bungie upper management has left us with.
Part of the reason The Forst Descendant is doing well is because they aren’t into heavily nerfing things. That was the reason why I quit Destiny until a clan mate bought my copy of The Final Shape. I agree with the part about the game getting good after long investments. It took me 6 months of chasing red borders & grinding lost sectors until I finally had good exotics / weapon rolls to finally feel like I was having fun
thank you for your brutally honest and TRUE statement starting at 0:14. it needed to be said and too many other people are afraid to say it. this is the experience of the workforce today and it’s frustrating seeing jobs destroyed because leadership is inept. making mistakes is one thing. what pete parsons did was so stupid, and any other position would have been fired *immediately* for so much less.
oh my GOD who the f CARES !?!?? Its a damn game. Dont like it - dont play it. I usually hate this pickme-ass comment, but it has to be stated for worn out D2 neeks. You dont owe the game anything. Bunghole owes you nothing either. The problem isnt that the game isnt infinite, the problem is you dont know how to take breaks and entertain yourself
@@youngslorp when you start caring about layoffs in a company youre not associated with, merely whose product you consume, thats a big red flag about your life. It has to be said
@@GenocideLvyeah why should i care about people losing their jobs due to corporate incompetence. fuck them right? i can tell you’ve never worked a serious job in your life because this is a common theme everywhere outside of minimum wage jobs
My preferred analogy for hard effort content vs lowkey trash clickbait is that spongebob episode where he competes vs Neptune in a Krabby Patty contest, lmao
It just blows my mind that Bungie has not only done nothing to bring in new players, but actively avoided them, and is then somehow surprised the playerbase is suffering from attrition. Like you, I can't recommend Destiny to any friends. Me and the friends I used to play with near daily have all dropped off. We still play occasionally, some of us play other games together sometimes, but its been a long time since we all played Destiny together consistently. While they're completely different series, the Yakuza series is a good example of a game series that has been ongoing for years telling a single story, but now has several onramps into the franchise for new players. Bungie could have learned something from the way they do storytelling.
I got all my friends to try destiny in the same week (when it was first put on game pass around beyond light) and all of them were like dude I have no idea what’s going on. Only one of them stuck with the game more than the first week, and he played it all the time for a couple years. He finally tapered off after lightfall but that to me helped me realize why destinys onboarding needs help
I think the decline of Destiny sunk in for me when Bungie left Activision, but nothing really, really changed with the messaging from Bungie once they were free of Activision.
I grew up playing FPS only Call of Duty, CSGO, OW, OW2 and Valorant. I picked up all the DLC for destiny (except dungeons) for around 60USD the onboarding is truly dogshit for sure but after playing this for a month it is truly one my favourite games. I have not been there for even a fraction of the 10 years but this game made gaming FUN for me again which I miss so much. Sad to see a great and unique game die there is no game as good as Destiny in its genre everything about the game slaps. I will play it till I cannot access the servers my journey in this game is gone as soon as it started.
As a returning D1 player that got into D2, I sincerely appreciate the hard work you put into your videos, not for the views, but for hard work and informing the player base in the meaningful way. It's looking grim for D2, as a D3 would've been the saving grace potentially, for the series, but all I'm going to say it was a good ride guardians. Lots of fun was had before corporate greed ruined it all, but here's hoping to better games, and lasting ones at that.
Amen dude. Thanks for all your awesome videos and guides. I am personally probably done with D2 for the foreseeable future. It's very hard for me to stay invested and engaged in a game that has such a shaky future right now. All good things come to an end eventually.
Appreciate the words tizzle. Me and my destiny gaming buddy have been watching your videos a while. You have so quickly become our favorite destiny creator and you motivated us to complete our first solo flawless dungeons! Take care brother, your work will always be appreciated
Weird clicking on one of your videos this early. I'm too old to say First, but I will say to keep up the hard work, your videos are really informative and really useful. Keep up the hard work bro 👍
True. As I was watching the video I was on a nostalgia trip. I also met my clan mates in D1 who got married. They didn’t meet on destiny but I am blessed to know them. Legit almost cried. Great video.
Fantastic video Tiz, couldnt agree more its sad but its true.. this type of mindset is rampant in every industry... pretty sad ruined a lot of things not just gaming
I feel like you are the only destiny content creator who was this honest everything that you said was true. I've been playing this series since day one hell I've been playing since the alpha. It's sad to see a franchise that I love this much go to shit in front of my eyes This is truly been extremely sad and I feel so bad for the people who lost their jobs because a company purposely chose to be trash
13:30 I feel like both destiny and the mcu have reached a sort of “narrative power creep” you can keep building up bigger and bigger villains until it’s “the end of everything” but after that it’s hard to keep that hype. Once you save the universe in the final battle with every character there together, the next step up is just not feasible
That is EXACTLY what I said to my friends when it came to the future of destiny. Where can you go after something like TFS? The overarching story of this entire franchise is the light vs dark since 2014 and it's just ended with TFS, all of the advertising for the dlc hammered home the fact that this is the end to the 10 year story, that this is essentially the end of the narrative. You simply can't just drop a dlc of that monumental narrative importance and then just say 'oh yeah, we're doing episodes post-TFS'. You just can't sustain players, especially veteran ones, with yet more season-esque content after something like that
This video went so hard. I truly love Destiny and even still keep up with the game through videos and streams, but Im one of those people that just dont have the time to even play the game anymore. Too many hours of play time now a days. Couldn't agree more with you here.
I will say no matter how discouraging, the thought and effort of content you put out did instantly hook me. I found you relatively recently but from the first video I knew you were already one of my favorite creators. So thanks for everything you have given to the game and the community!
It has been such a fun few years. I remember when my friends from school were begging me to play destiny when I was playing advanced warfare. I finally ended up caving and got the game. It was so magical, playing with all my friends after school. Doing raids, trials carries, and just having fun we’re all I worried about. It has deeply saddened me to see my friends quit playing over the years. The ones who got me into the game in the first place. I understand that life goes on, and nothing good lasts forever. Now I just play with people on LFG and hope I can run into some cool people. The community is toxic now, nobody wants to do salvations edge unless you have 10+ clears, and people won’t play trials with you unless you have a specific KD ratio. I’m just sad 😞. An era of my life that I cherished so dearly is now coming to an end. Feels like I have cancer and I’m just waiting for the end 🥺 . I love your content and everyone that still plays the game for the love of it! 🌌🔮✨💫
My guy you said what we were all thinking. You have become my favourite destiny content creator over the past year just for being so real and down to earth with your content and builds! Don’t take the hard road and lose faith over silly click bait videos other people make! You’re flying and can only get better if you keep at it! Love from 🇮🇪🍀
I work 8-5. I buy MAYBE 1 silver cosmetic a DLC annual year. All devs of all games need to realize skins are not a reliable form of income. ESPECIALLY when some skins or skin packs are $20 or more.
Hearing journey in the background made me feel a certain way. This game has been a huge part of my life thus far and if this game dies, I think a part of me would die. From D1 D2 I have played every expansion. I’ve made friends over this game and met important people over this game. This is a great game in my opinion and I’m hoping something can save it. Whether it’s new management or even something other than that, it can be saved. Maybe it’s just nostalgia. But this game has given me a feeling I have never felt before.
I like that your prophecy run ended right as your discussion ended. Very satisfying. I honestly don’t know what to make of Destiny right now. Until a new raid is announced I’m quite apathetic towards the game. I’m just waiting to see what happens. On an unrelated note, did you ever learn sparrow flying? Just occurred to me as I was watching your rainbow road idk if you’ve ever shown yourself sparrow flying on video
I 1000% agree with you about their struggles to bring in new players. Idc how many into the lights, new lights, armor and exotic jumpstart bundles etc they were never going to attract as many eyeballs and ultimately preorders/sales with the final shape vs pivoting to a Destiny 3
Your absolutely correct in my personal opinion. I got invested into Destiny 2 about 5 months ago, I know late to the game. I found it to be one of the best games I’ve ever played. It really saddens me to see such an amazing game go through such drama. Your a great content creator, thank you for not ditching on Destiny 😊
I'll continue making this point until people understand it: The issue in the entire gaming industry (and pretty much all of them at this point) isn't just within management and corporate suits, it's an issue that's infected every level. The issue is a shift in culture, away from making great games that you can be proud to work on. Managers and corporate suits care about doing the least work for the most money, while they and plenty of the workers all desire to use the company and its games as a platform for their ideology. There's a scary amount of employees at Bungie, at every level, who're unimpressive dolts, and do shit like retconning Osiris and Saint to make them gay, because they're awful at their job, and awful people who desire power over all else. For as much as people will constantly, ignorantly cry about our economic system, when it's from a Left-leaning position, it's fucking hollow. You don't get to cry about the government doing exactly what you wanted in getting involved in the economy, and then cry about it not going your way, and wanting to double-down on that garbage. People being unable to afford things like houses, cars, food, etc. isn't because some random CEOs make a lot of money, it's because *you* voted for vile scumbags to raise the national debt, sky-rocket inflation, and burden us with absurd taxes and regulations. There's literally no reason prices are this high, other than the fact that you voted for people who despise normal people, and you don't have the balls to vote against them, let alone make them fear for their job and life. Bungie isn't where they are right now because of Parsons making a lot of money, he's just an ingredient to the dish. Having a bunch of unimpressive doorknobs literally saying, "We're not trying to make the best game possible, don't over-deliver," and going out of their way to make Destiny a hollow game with their ideology shoved in it is the problem. Unless someone can provide evidence to the contrary, Parsons wasn't whipping the code monkeys to create more Eververse items, lower the amount of content in DLC drops, raise prices, waste money on countless useless positions at the company, waste money on whatever stupid shit the company did, etc. All of that shit happened without much of Parsons' input, one has to imagine. Parsons should be fired, I agree, but only if it's alongside virtually everyone at Bungie.
Well said. Only those without issues seem to be concerned about extremely well-paid employees they don't know being laid off. Without any insight as to why. It's hardly a game in its prime.
You can get everything for WAAAAAY under $500. I built my first PC in over a decade earlier this year and decided to move from PS5 to PC. When Into the Light launched Bungie MASSIVELY discounted every piece on content, and I got everything(sans Final Shape of course) for arpund $35. Then, after Final Shape launched, they put everything into a pack and at one point had it at like $25. I believe it's like maybe $60 now but that's still MUCH cheaper than the $500 or so it costs to buy them all separately.
I can’t agree more on every point except the delivery / condition of TFS. I personally don’t feel a 10 year saga should’ve ended the way it did. There was barely any struggle, no real story line twists no real gotchas. Sure the pale heart was delivered beautifully, same as the strikes, weekly campaign missions, and lost sectors. The raid overall is by far (imo) bungies best raid experience to date for a veteran player. The story tho - no sorry I’m not convinced. Cayde-6 coming back and then leaving just before the end of the campaign, just like Rohan - feels very “wrapped up” and right back on track to the same old game. Everything just lines back up perfectly. Hell we didn’t even lose a main character lol, that’s not surprising for a 10 year saga conclusion?
I swear I've been thinking that for the longest time knowing I'm not alone too think that the capitalistic profit driven mindset is a cancer that gatekeep good content but hearing someone actually say it make me think it's not as over as I thaught
I experienced the final shape story and loved every bit of it. I fell in love and enjoyed salvation's edge, I got the exotic raid weapon. It's been a month and 2 weeks since I last played I haven't felt the need to get back on. Been enjoying all of your content Tizzle, I just let it play sometimes in the background while I read a novel or manga to listen to your thoughts. It's been a real fun ride, but I just feel like D2 ain't the same D2 I've loved for so long. Things feel the same after the experience of the campaign and other involved things set in, I think I'll just not play D2 for a very long time. Helps that there are good games coming out, been enjoying the hell out of Black Myth: Wukong.
You are an S tier creator. Always appreciate your honesty and commitment. I was sad when Chablo91 had to turn away from D2, but like you, he knew the real deal about what was going on with D2. I feel like Karma should happen to the Bungie upper management. I started with Halo, continued with it, went to Destiny 1, then Destiny 2. I have such a fierce loyalty to these games and all the great experiences that came along with them. The right thing to do is to walk away, but as you noted, they are milking the franchise and taking advantage of players like us. Keep up the good work. It maybe time to take a leap of faith of something more worthy to those who are creating new games and simply begin a new with something fresh and promising. Halo was amazing. Destiny continued in this direction and I am sure something better will rise to replace D2. Sad, but true. If you love something enough, you may have to let it go and set it free no matter how difficult this may be. Be well, guardians.
Finished the SE master challenges, but I literally can't find a LFG team to complete the subclass triumphs for the seal. Even on weekends there's almost zero interest for the raid. I've never seen anything like this is Destiny history.
Strait truth man👏🏽. Your honesty hits harder that any streamlined D2 content! As for me, I'm a D1 vanilla day 1 vet💪🏽. I'll be playing till they turn the servers off. #FinishingIsBetterThanStarting
Keep up the great work. I came back to the game for the Final Shape and was blown away! I brought in another new player as well and we’re loving it as casual players who never will be able to play a raid unfortunately. Maybe the new Warhammer 40k Space Marines 2 coming soon will be our next coop hit. Keep an eye on D2 future and keep us updated.
I have never ever before seen the level of comments & vitriol online under any Bungie post, video etc as now I think it’s done After so many years of “1 step forward but 2 steps back” from Bungie … I think we have taken too many steps back. It’s done IMO. We shall see. Other competition is coming, burn out, solo players being pushed out from exotic class item mission, so many reasons, too many to list here. Game over.
You bring up a really good point. This game is the best for the mechanics and visuals. The issue is this story ended. I would love a spinoff with similar mechanics. I lost so much time, it takes a 10 hour video to get caught up. A new story would be fun to experience. I missed out on a lot here, maybe a new journey would be fun to experience. Honestly, I’d love to experience a “WOW classic” of destiny.
There are many points you touched on during your video. The writing is on the wall, unless those people still there protect the ip. The true power still lies with the devs, in my opinion. They can go along with the show or “overthrow against the hive” and repair, replace and rebuild.
It's funny how so many couldn't wait for it to end until the final shape was released, then people got hyped, and when it was actually the end, people felt sad.
I've been sad, angry and frustrated with what has happened. I haven't been motivated to play either. Destiny, like for many other players, has been a huge part of my life for many many years. But the situation at Bungie has affected me deeply. When I think of it, Final Shape only lasted 2 months! That's crazy! While I don't feel like playing it at the moment, I still invested 100 bucks into this year's expansion and want to get my money's worth. But the soul of my favorite game of all time has been sucked out of it.
your content is truly amazing - i for one did enjoy the subclass videos as i was tired of copying pasting builds and not knowing what and why of those choices. also i love destiny for me though i am taking a break because i am tired or lfg'ing content. dungeons/ raids is what i like but i refuse to sit on lfg screens for minutes to findd a team that will abandon the mission soon. lfg for me is so inefficient its insane. besides a dedicted group of friends or being a streamer lfg is not the way to play atleast for me, i'd much rather do the 45min solo coil than do another raid that takes 3hrs
My man!!! I'm so surprised you're not more popular. Everything you said is true. I will say that what's happening has always happened. Idk maybe I'm just used to it. The world is an unfair place. Anyways, great video 😎
That person behind the overdelivery speech is Justin Truman, Bungie's General Manager at the time of that GDC conference and now is CDO. Listening to that 1 hour spiel was an eye opener about how bad things had gotten. On top of that, as a super fan of the original Marathon trilogy, I have 0 interest in a trend chasing reboot that's going to be another live service game. Shit is dead on arrival.
I loved the original Marathon. Only game that was on Mac back in the day, I played it every weekend at my Grandparents I have zero interest in this new “reboot” extraction hero shooter pvp trash.
Tizzle if no one has told you this, let me be the first to say, I see the effort and time you put in and am happy you create such in depth content on my favorite game ever. Thank you
The dev who bugged Lion Rampants to ADS while airborne was my hero and made TFS an 11/10 just five minutes into the campaign for myself personally. The recent "fix" has truly soured my engagement as a D1 Empyrean Bellicose Titan vet and I feel compelled to abandon ship with everyone else when i was fully on board pre-patch notes.
Insightful video. Thank you. I am in my first year of playing Destiny, so I have been grinding to catch up to friends who have played for 10 years and still have so much to learn and enjoy about the game. I am curious to know the onboarding ideas that are out there. For me, it took getting married to my wife who plays, so I don’t see that as a repeatable strategy, unless there is some untapped group of smart attractive women wooing men to play video games with them. Anyways, great content and I am curious what comes next.
tell us how you really feel lol. I agree with everything you said. so sick of "share holder value". people want passionate employees, and then treat them like cattle. I know there is some idiotic upper management that insisted, "or else", that the crowdstrike patch went out before the weekend, yeah, release on a Friday, what could go wrong? but they just had to hit their goals. d2 is the only game I play, and I think the best is behind us. like others have said, I really appreciate the content you put out. good stuffs
Thank you for the only real in depth take on the situation, could not agree more, and you deserve more success for your content. That being said i’m actually really happy playing destiny, i enjoy it a lot still, and i don’t see how that will change even though they wont continue making annual DLC/expansions. I actually hope they focus on rebranding the franchise and make it easier to join the game as a new player. Maybe find a way to get new players to play the game, maybe thats just me hoping for something unrealistic. I hope that you will continue the good work, i enjoy your videos alot. Ty for keeping it real
I enjoy the game too! Like I said, it's in a great spot gameplay-wise. But like I said, I also think it doesn't matter how good it is, so many won't give it a chance and it will slowly continue to dwindle. But I for one am excited for some new dungeons!!
They've definitely fired a bunch of ppl who made positive changes over these last 2 lay-off rounds, and it seems they have no communication between whoever left and whoever took over. For example with Solstice they reintroduced problems that had been fixed in the past, including progress modifiers(or account wide) for Solstice armor on your 2nd and 3rd character. They also baffleingly removed the high stat armor rerolling from last year, which was a big hit, and overall just made the grind WAY worse and more tedious. Another huge one that was a huge contention point and was fixed years ago is regarding guilding conqueror. Originally, you couldn't finish the guild until 3 weeks before the season was over, meaning you only got to see it gold for 3 weeks b4 it reset. Then Bungie added the gm rotator when they launched on week 6, allowing you to guild the day gms came out. Then finally, they made gms available week 3, meaning you could guild 3 weeks in and have it for 9-10 weeks which was great. But now for absolutely ZERO fucking reason(besides maybe there being acts in Episodes) they completely removed the gm selector and worse yet you only get 3 new gms an act meaning you have to wait FIFTEEN DAMN WEEKS before you can guild it. And worse of all, it AGAIN resets just 3 weeks later to purple with another 15 week wait to do it again. Who the FUCK thought this was a good idea? It had already been complained about years ago, and little by little fixed until it was nearly perfect....and then just unceremoniously reverted. EVERY OTHER title can be guilded either immediately or within 2 weeks for Flawless, but yet here we are again with Conqueror taking until 3 weeks b4 the new episode comes out resetting it again. And especially now that episodes are longer than seasons, it makes it worse. I don't mind it going from 6 gms to 9, that's more new weapons to grind and gives more variety, but this no selector for guilding is unacceptable. Like was argued before, what's the point in doing it if it just resets in 3 weeks besides the number beside it going up? How can they be so fucking stupid? They either need to add the selector again the second gms come out(it hurts absolutely nothing to do this) or treat title guilding like Guardian rank(something else that's stupid af) where it'll show gold the remainder of that season and the next only going purple if you fail to reguild the following one. But realistically just give us the rotator back, easy as fuck to do.
Agree with most everything you said. The reskinning and the repetitive seasonal loop has ran its course too. Everything ends. Been a fun ride. See what comes next.
preach it 🙂👍 you speak truth. and I agree with everything you said..your channel is the #1 go to channel for a reason.. you dont do the click bait bullshit, you tell it like it is, you dont sugarcoat stuff, and you get right to the point with your vidoes.. you breakdown and explain stuff in detail 👍👍👍👍👍 best channel around
i'm gonna hang on and hope they can breathe new life into it but I'm also thinking that's unlikely. I have enjoyed your vids and your subclass school is one of the best series of Destiny vids ever done.
you thoughts sum up mine, this is like the first time ive ever considered quitting the game at this point, i feel like I’ve stuck around long enough to see the story through, i really only plan to stick around until after episode 3 since I’m curious how they’ll wrap up the story for each race and might as well play the content I paid for but after that, i don’t think I’ll stick around because im happy with the way the saga ended.
I completely agree with you. I think it’s the best game ever and they would benefit from making older content F2P so that I could recommend the game for others. My friends are interested, but would rather I jump into a new game with them.
Dude the line you said at the end how the name might be the same but everything else would have changed is so so true of this industry. Rocksteady, for example, after the arkham games many of the people wanted something new and unique and left having been proud of the work they did on arkham and proud of the legacy they left behind. Then they bring in new groups of people for their new suicide squad game and look where it is now. When you bring new people in to put them in positions where they dont really matter cause they are just a middle man to a middle man, the culture, and the pride you have in producing quality games diminishes.
yes perfect example. But keep in mind the higher ups at the company probably ordered them to work on a shitty live service money grab. Instead of another great single player title (which was their strength). I loved the Batman trilogy back in the day!
I'm so happy that even random gametubers are starting to turn against our economic system of profit above everything and shareholders above consumers. Everyone should read Mark Fisher.
They should have made D3 instead of continuing after Shadowkeep cos that would have prevented a lot such as: -Sunsetting -Weapon balancing -PvP inbalances -Vaulting -No new player tutorial -Pointless playlists (due to repetition they have more or less become redundant) -FOMO - bug MANIA(only started getting absurd around season of opulence) I know that’s not how dev cycles work but I think destiny only worked because they had the resources for it to with Activision and now they don’t have those anymore so the dynamic has shifted drastically and not in a good way And I’ll say it the removal of Red War killed Destiny(2)
Sad to say, I 100% agree with pretty much everything you said. Having been laid off twice because cheap labour = more profit even if it means lackluster performance i can relate. It also seems I quit CoD around the same time you did for the same reasons. And EA, I was a big NFS fan right up to the point where I couldn't tell one game from another. As for Destiny... well I only returned in march after a long break because it was just not fun to play at that point, and sadly I can see it going exactly the same way. I totally loved TFS and enjoying Echoes so far, but the time gating, pointless grinds and constant nerfs to fun stuff (either purposely or accidently, yes Graviton Lance has been my go to for a long time) just sap the real fun aspect of the game. I was looking forward to Solstice, now its here I'm actively searching for cheeses because I just can't face more grind. So yes, D2 is loosing its luster for me quicker than I would like.
Hey bro, Big fan of your channel and thanks for all you do. I’ve watched so many depressing videos tackling this topic. Bungie employees and players wrongly believed if Final Shape was better than lightfall we could turn this player falloff and fatigue around. Now we feel betrayed by Bungie management because much of the cash we paid for D2 content went to bungie executives and their ambitious non-D2 project developments that will never see the light of day. There are plenty of gaming franchises that have lasted decades. Zelda, Doom etc, they always found a way to be true to what they are while attracting new generations of younger players. I’m in my 40s. I’ve played 3000 hours, I’m not quitting but I probably won’t play another 3000. I think what Bungie needs now is a major Red War type onramp to bring in gamers 20+ younger than me who will play in the Destiny sandbox for the next 10 years.
At this point the best they can do for themselves is to offer what remains of forsaken and shadow keep for free. If they want to refocus on player on boarding, now would be the time to renew the concept of actually making paid content free and not just doing so to then remove it from the game almost entirely later on
Appreciate the well thought out video, however I have to respectfully disagree with the notion of D3 being what is needed to “save” Destiny. You even stated yourself that it is an “old” franchise, which disincentivises people from jumping in, how many people skipped the first 2 Lord of the Rings but joined at Return of the King? Or skipped Mass Effect 1 and 2 but joined for 3? Also look at D2 after the launch compared to D1 before D2 launch (House of Wolves), a massive percentage of the community left and never came back, the exact opposite of “growing” the player base. Almost every franchise loses players each release, as people who lose interest and leave generally far outweigh the newcomers who join far into a series. The biggest reason I argue a “new” game would do more harm than good, is that a “fresh reset” cuts all investment currently held. The “sunk cost/time fallacy” is what keeps most people playing, because the thought process is “well I’ve already got all this gear, it would be a waste to not make use of it”. But if you take that away it becomes “well everything is gone now, why bother continuing to just lose it again?”. This is exactly why every attempt at implementing “sunsetting” has failed and further decreased player numbers each time. I’m a hardcore day one D1 player myself, yet I have taken extended breaks at Taken King launch, D2 Launch and Beyond Light announcement (the latest one literally only returning at season of the Wish). No hate whatsoever, just trying to have a genuine discussion. Appreciate the content, have a good one.
I love videos that start with virtue signaling. Let's me know I can save my time instead of listening to someone echoing opinions other people have already made clear.
Lol tizzle pointed me talking about “no squeakers” and us being adults now cuz , yeah I’m 19 and I still remember not being let in to a single kf for the first month I was trying to do it cuz I sounded too young😂.
destiny 2 isnt dead, its just got cancer
Good analogy, let's hope its not terminal
Spot on !
The dev who saved wellskating is my hero

@@-Benja look at all the nerfs over the years, they woulda never left well as it is

Yeah hero for sure!
Keep it up!
@@itztizzle o7
Thank you! Glad you enjoy the content! And that is very true, I love the community I have fostered. Thanks for being a part of it!
Dang the plunderthabooty call out was crazy.
26:23 The callout 💀
Part of the reason The Forst Descendant is doing well is because they aren’t into heavily nerfing things. That was the reason why I quit Destiny until a clan mate bought my copy of The Final Shape. I agree with the part about the game getting good after long investments. It took me 6 months of chasing red borders & grinding lost sectors until I finally had good exotics / weapon rolls to finally feel like I was having fun
I’m loving first descendant letting me be OP.
Hope they keep that policy of no nerfs because it’s actually fun to be powerful in games.
Is it ? there’s no PvP so I’m out
@@Sudden-Death they said day one their won’t be PvP
thank you for your brutally honest and TRUE statement starting at 0:14. it needed to be said and too many other people are afraid to say it. this is the experience of the workforce today and it’s frustrating seeing jobs destroyed because leadership is inept. making mistakes is one thing. what pete parsons did was so stupid, and any other position would have been fired *immediately* for so much less.
oh my GOD who the f CARES !?!?? Its a damn game. Dont like it - dont play it. I usually hate this pickme-ass comment, but it has to be stated for worn out D2 neeks. You dont owe the game anything. Bunghole owes you nothing either. The problem isnt that the game isnt infinite, the problem is you dont know how to take breaks and entertain yourself

Yeah like I said, the game is honestly in a pretty good spot gameplay-wise. Glad you are enjoying it!
Glad you enjoy the content! And yep, we've all had amazing memories in this game!
Well said, I believe we've all been through a mass layoff. When management should've hit the road instead
Amen dude. Thanks for all your awesome videos and guides. I am personally probably done with D2 for the foreseeable future. It's very hard for me to stay invested and engaged in a game that has such a shaky future right now. All good things come to an end eventually.
I uninstalled 2 weeks ago and then the news about the layoffs came out which cemented my decision. Was a fun ride
Was a great ride honestly! They set out for a ten year journey and accomplished that. Kudos to them!
Appreciate the words tizzle. Me and my destiny gaming buddy have been watching your videos a while. You have so quickly become our favorite destiny creator and you motivated us to complete our first solo flawless dungeons! Take care brother, your work will always be appreciated

glad you enjoy them!
True. As I was watching the video I was on a nostalgia trip. I also met my clan mates in D1 who got married. They didn’t meet on destiny but I am blessed to know them. Legit almost cried. Great video.
Fantastic video Tiz, couldnt agree more its sad but its true.. this type of mindset is rampant in every industry... pretty sad ruined a lot of things not just gaming
that Thumbnail & the End Game Analogy 💪🏽💪🏽💯💯🤟🏽🤟🏽
I feel like you are the only destiny content creator who was this honest everything that you said was true. I've been playing this series since day one hell I've been playing since the alpha. It's sad to see a franchise that I love this much go to shit in front of my eyes This is truly been extremely sad and I feel so bad for the people who lost their jobs because a company purposely chose to be trash
Your in depth videos were masterpieces - thankfully they'll stand relevant for a long time
9:55 not a guess. A solid fact.
Thank you!
Just occurred to me as I was watching your rainbow road idk if you’ve ever shown yourself sparrow flying on video
nope never learnt
I 1000% agree with you about their struggles to bring in new players. Idc how many into the lights, new lights, armor and exotic jumpstart bundles etc they were never going to attract as many eyeballs and ultimately preorders/sales with the final shape vs pivoting to a Destiny 3
The subclass videos are the way I found your channel. Whether they got good view #s or not it got the algorithm to give them to me in my feed.
Thank you for all the hard work you put into your channel. I agree with all your views. It's just not the way we all wanted this decade to end.
Seriously the statement is so true and so unjust
Helps that there are good games coming out, been enjoying the hell out of Black Myth: Wukong.
the lowkey plunder shade was so funny
The was deep bro. Thanks same experience at my current job.
sorry to hear
Strait truth man👏🏽. Your honesty hits harder that any streamlined D2 content! As for me, I'm a D1 vanilla day 1 vet💪🏽. I'll be playing till they turn the servers off. #FinishingIsBetterThanStarting
I agree , I have no idea when it happened? But management in just about every company I've been affiliated with ....have no clue what they're doing .
it's crazy how common it is
Keep up the great work.
I have never ever before seen the level of comments & vitriol online under any Bungie post, video etc as now
I think it’s done
After so many years of “1 step forward but 2 steps back” from Bungie …
I think we have taken too many steps back.
The multiverse thing is so accurate
your content is truly amazing - i for one did enjoy the subclass videos as i was tired of copying pasting builds and not knowing what and why of those choices. also i love destiny for me though i am taking a break because i am tired or lfg'ing content. dungeons/ raids is what i like but i refuse to sit on lfg screens for minutes to findd a team that will abandon the mission soon. lfg for me is so inefficient its insane. besides a dedicted group of friends or being a streamer lfg is not the way to play atleast for me, i'd much rather do the 45min solo coil than do another raid that takes 3hrs
Glad you enjoy the videos!

Good video sir
I was not expecting the perfect MCU explanation in this video. Great gameplay, good discussion I look forward to more content like this
Tizzle if no one has told you this, let me be the first to say, I see the effort and time you put in and am happy you create such in depth content on my favorite game ever. Thank you
The dev who bugged Lion Rampants to ADS while airborne was my hero and made TFS an 11/10 just five minutes into the campaign for myself personally.
I know there is some idiotic upper management that insisted, "or else", that the crowdstrike patch went out before the weekend, yeah, release on a Friday, what could go wrong? but they just had to hit their goals. d2 is the only game I play, and I think the best is behind us. like others have said, I really appreciate the content you put out. good stuffs
Quality video as always!! Great stuff Tizzle and well said! Thanks
U speak the truth, i just hope they manage to handle the situation in some way. Looking forward to more videos 🙏🏼
26:03 You never yap 🐐
You are one of the real ones. Appreciate you
thank you!
Thank you!
i'm gonna hang on and hope they can breathe new life into it but I'm also thinking that's unlikely. I have enjoyed your vids and your subclass school is one of the best series of Destiny vids ever done.
just saw this, this video spit in every take it needed to.
you thoughts sum up mine, this is like the first time ive ever considered quitting the game at this point, i feel like I’ve stuck around long enough to see the story through, i really only plan to stick around until after episode 3 since I’m curious how they’ll wrap up the story for each race and might as well play the content I paid for but after that, i don’t think I’ll stick around because im happy with the way the saga ended.
I loved the Batman trilogy back in the day!
i love this channel and i love your raw takes on stuff! What is next in store for you next year after episode 3?
Just keep doing what makes me happy. I don't worry about too far into the future too much. Never have. Just go with the flow
I'm so happy that even random gametubers are starting to turn against our economic system of profit above everything and shareholders above consumers. Everyone should read Mark Fisher.
As a 4000 hour player through this whole Saga it has really been My favourite game but i recognise all good things must come to an end
Another good and original game recently is Stellar Blade. The passion is very evident in that game, and it’s great for how low budget it was
They should have made D3 instead of continuing after Shadowkeep cos that would have prevented a lot such as:
-Sunsetting
-Weapon balancing
-PvP inbalances
-Vaulting
-No new player tutorial
-Pointless playlists (due to repetition they have more or less become redundant)
-FOMO
- bug MANIA(only started getting absurd around season of opulence)
I know that’s not how dev cycles work but I think destiny only worked because they had the resources for it to with Activision and now they don’t have those anymore so the dynamic has shifted drastically and not in a good way
And I’ll say it the removal of Red War killed Destiny(2)
wise and honest review, your content is appreciated
Hey bro,
Big fan of your channel and thanks for all you do.
Oof that last callout on destiny build content creators probably stuck a nerve on one of them for sure.
Appreciate the unfiltered candor. Well said.
love the video more personality in it than other videos on this matter
Thanks tizzle you are genuine and i resonate with that. Definitely earned my sub
Damn, plunder catching a stray was not expected.
Otherwise great video that I think captures the essence of the problem we're facing.
Ohh that thumbnail!!! Nice!!
With destiny until the end, though the drive to play is way low
My thumbnail guy is a beast!!
What a great and honest video. Keep up the great work man! Appreciate you.
At this point the best they can do for themselves is to offer what remains of forsaken and shadow keep for free. If they want to refocus on player on boarding, now would be the time to renew the concept of actually making paid content free and not just doing so to then remove it from the game almost entirely later on
The mcu comparison is so spot on
Love your intro! This f*cking system needs to change. One thing for sure I’m playing until the wheels fall off 👍🏾
Appreciate the well thought out video, however I have to respectfully disagree with the notion of D3 being what is needed to “save” Destiny.
I love your content and your view here. Bungie as a whole has focused on the money, and not on the dream of the game.
Lol tizzle pointed me talking about “no squeakers” and us being adults now cuz , yeah I’m 19 and I still remember not being let in to a single kf for the first month I was trying to do it cuz I sounded too young😂.
sorry to hear! But yeah, that was the reality
