Loving this format Matt - no fucking around with ‘the story’ etc, straight in for some proper insights. Andy feels like one of the RUclipsrs who isn’t out to do anything other than document himself and if that helps others great. Enjoy listening to him. Interesting to hear how the medium steady long run has helped him.
Great interview! I think lifetime miles make a big diff. I started running Jan of 2024 (never ran prior) and was injured all but a few weeks all year. Body just wasn’t ready for it. Could only do 1.3k total miles but it was a struggle.
So good! 🤌Love hearing all the insights and such good questions 🙌 I will say, although I know it can be a touchy subject. Since Nov I have lost approx 9kg going from 88kg to 78-79kg and have noticed a huge drop in perceived effort at paces that used to be challenging. This and the addition of short all out hill sprints has been a game changer for me and ran a 5k PB of 17:52 (26sec pb) and felt like i have more to give. I know noone asked just thought I would share 😂
Huge FOD Runner fan here 😊😊

"short all out hill sprints" - agreed, massive one for achilles strength and functionality too. Great to see more long distance runners doing this.
@threatened2024 great bang for your buck 🤌
