You are on fire with some of your new team members. This episode, the honey hole, the heart fall and the squeeze are some great alternative feels for the concepts you've been promoting for some time. Just signed up for a membership!
Great to hear! Thanks for joining our community 👍
I feel like everything I’ve ever worked at, the release has been the #1 factor in all my faults. This is gold because when I think of my hands and releasing in my downswing, my body does everything naturally. I’m actually thinking about release before getting to the top.
Interesting, I'd have to see your swing to give you further feedback. For me the release is just a byproduct and not something I think about much.
does this hold teue for driver too Milo?? same of angle etc
I agree 100% with this. I tried it on the course today and it held up. The club was stable, no trying to save everything, and it felt like a much heavier hit than normal.
Great video Milo. I play my best with the release you are advocating and play my worst when I get handsy.
Stable is my preference.
Can't wait to see it on the site.
It’s on the site in the foundations but we will be moving it to Faults & Fixes later this week. Doing a slight overhaul plus adding some new content 👍.
I really hate golf for addicting me the way it has, but its good to know I have resources like Milo & the team to help with questions like these, great video, thanks for the help!
Thanks for following along David, let me know if I can be of help in your journey 👊
Thank you for this video. I am still working at keeping the trail wrist bent back and allowing the body to turn. I have a tendency to start the "slap" early and then hit it fat. I really like the thought of turning the corner with trail wrist bent back. I need to be careful and not come ver the top with trail shoulder
All good points here, I'd have to see your swing to give you the best feedback. Have you looked into my online academy? milolinesgolf.com
Thank you.
Thanks for watching Jim!
Precisely what I’ve been moving too. I get so handsy that, when things go south, there not enough room to the left of the planet. Huge hook. This is really beginning to sink in. Cannot wait to get out and swing it.
Thanks for watching!
Love this vid and looking forward to the website series! Something not mentioned is the angle of shldrs thru impact can't be too flat because that will cause a roll no matter what you're trying to do with your hands!
Bingo! Inclination as you’ve seen on our site 👊.
Although from UK I do like watching baseball. One thing that the batters do which golfers do not is 'check swing' although Tiger Woods famously did it in the 2007 Masters when the shadow of a bird caught his eye. I was surprised to find out that players even practise the 'check swing'. I imagine that this is the 'moment of release', everything is in position, ready to go and then the brakes are applied.
We have a foundational exercise on my online academy that Ed referenced in this video very similar to what you are referencing here 👊.
I’ve developed an awesome swing and I’m super open at impact and it’s because I follow you, Gankas and Elite golf schools.
Some of the worst instruction I’ve gotten is from Athletic motion golf. They preach the exact opposite.
Thanks for following along!
There’s many ways to swing the club. This is our preference. Thanks for watching
3:52 - I feel personally attacked at how accurate that was to my swing.
Haha our apologies
I'm confused as well. Milo, I have seen you on a # of occasions using the baseball swing to show the body movement and that has more forearm rotation then is does wrist flip. I think the same would go for a tennis swing. I think my biggest issue is that it's hard for me to connect shooting a basketball and throwing a pitch to the golf swing.
The pivot in a baseball swing is very similar to driving but the wrist action is different because there is no face to square. Baseball has 0 rotation in the forearms until post impact. If you follow my instructions on the grip and wrist mechanics very little forearm rotation is needed and the release is automatic.
I’ve had 19 hours of lessons between Milo and Ed. At first it was awkward due to me being more of an arm dominated swing. After numerous hours of foundation drills 1 & 2 it clicked and made sense. It felt I had to thinks about it (the release) until I changed my tempo and let things happen naturally. I hit the ball farther with what seems to feel like less effort.. These two Milo & Ed are not only terrific with their knowledge of golf but are also fantastic people..
@@joejasinski301 🙏
I think there are multiple types of players. Those who’s arms react to the body (above teaching) and those who’s body react to the arms (Marty Scheinblum, Mike Malaska).
As a golfer, you need to figure out who you are.
Many ways to swing, yep. We like to share our preferences here, but always accommodate to the person in front of us.
Basically a slap motion.....right? Been working on this....essentially, and when I do it, I'm definitely a better ball strker.
Pretty much, yes.
Would you say it's more of a vertical release? I will say I paired this with "getting my hands to the wall" and the results are amazing. Easy to draw the ball that way.
On the plane essentially, limiting the roll which will naturally happen for most. Encouraging the roll is however not my preference.
Hi milo , do you have to sign up for a whole year if you pay monthly on your website ?
Thanks.
No, you can access the site on a monthly plan and cancel if you decide. The yearly plan is offered at 35% off however over a year’s monthly plan. Check it out at milolinesgolf.com. Look forward to having you on board! 👊
@@MiloLinesGolf ok that’s great ! Thanks a lot and I’ll have a look now 👊
Hello, how could you incorporated the GEM training aid to this movement? Regards
Not sure I’ve not used the GEM much
The Mike Austin No roll release!
Sure 🤷♂️
"can that be done? Yes!" end of video 😄
Haha
As an example: famous Rick Shiels does the inconsistent the rolling release...the poor guy couldn't shoot a good score to save his life.... I wish someone would share this video with him.
New world like to come over for a lesson
You can schedule lesson with me, Ed or Henry on our site at milolinesgolf.com where we also have an online academy that includes monthly swing analysis.
Is it true this type of release requires a relatively strong grip? Otherwise you'll just come into impact with an open face?
Our preference is a relatively strong grip. It can also work with other grip types with matching wrist conditions.
Great stuff I really like the idea of hitting it straight I had a coach tell me you have to curve the ball cause I’ve always hit it straight again thanks for making it simple
We like a little shape but straightish.
@@MiloLinesGolf gotcha thanks
My confusion is that this move has in previous teaching been classified as a wrist flip. Please explain if possible how to prevent adding loft by using this motion. Thanks.
You move your body so that your low point and ”flip” happens after the ball, that way your not adding loft. I Went from a slicer to a straight to drawer of the ball by learing this.
Also with the driver you obviously want to ”flip” right before so that you hit up
If the body doesn’t pivot dynamically then all releases are flips of some sort. The key here is a dynamic pivot and the unwinding of the wrist angles with minimal twisting of the face.
@@Seneale quick question how have you been able to draw using this? I feel when applying it I hit straight to slight fades with it. It feels like an anti hook shot as with the body rotation its a swing to the left?? Find it hard to draw it swinging to the left so aggressively. Hope that makes sense
Great response @@MiloLinesGolf
@@tylerspillman2765 shift path to the right but I only draw irons never driver
What’s the key to implementing this release without adding dynamic loft?
The release of the club/wrist happens as a by product of several factors such as how high your trying to hit it, how much speed you have, shot shape you’re trying to create.
check out the Chula hat! Nice video
Haha yes sir. Thanks for watching!
Representing hahaha
I'm curious where the name Lines came from. Is that Milo's last name or a reference to lines in the swing? Thanks 😊
My last name =)
I actually cannot release because of confusion and I'm a 3 hdcp. Playing golf is hard this way.
I'm not unsure I understand. I'd have to see your swing to see where you are having trouble with this. Have you looked into my online academy? milolinesgolf.com
Has anyone done the online lesson and had success? Curious how that would work
Well maybe one of our members will respond as well but we see success daily from our academy membership. You should give it a go and find out for yourself. milolinesgolf.com
Here is one example and I could post hundreds. instagram.com/reel/ChWSFAHDslD/?igshid=MWQ2ODkyMjM=
when you have a extesion after the impact its not a flip??
Key part being after impact.
@@MiloLinesGolf can you explain better? i dont get it, i feel like that move is a flip of the left hand
Is this the same method that Mike Malaska teaches?
We see some things differently but many the same
Hogan had a lot of supination ( forearm roll) , but because he had such a strong pivot he did NOT have a roll release
Supination in the lead forearm is needed to square the face for weaker grip players even though the trail forearm might not be rolling much at all.
You do that in tennis
Seems like a few different releases in tennis. The release in golf can also vary, but for many this is a more stable approach than what they are used to.
ruclips.net/video/-9ko86gcF3o/видео.htmlsi=IHbCp2O_u6NEg_rR
I am confused because at 1:37 in your own swing you can see there is some serious twist going on because of how shut the face has become so soon after impact?
Excluding the shot I am playing at the time, the feeling doesn't always create the reality and the club will tend to roll especially in my case with my matchups. But I can promise you I am doing by best to just turn through and keep the face stable, and not actively "releasing" or "twisting" it. In essence I like to feel that the face remains fairly square throughout, but physics will play its part especially after impact.
Love the flap not the flip.
Cool way of wording it, might have to use that one, thanks John!
As clear as mud.
Elaborate
@@MiloLinesGolf love all your videos however this video seem to suggest a golf swing is merely slapping at the ball. I just don't understand that though.
You barely mentioned the word “tension” and it’s the main factor causing a poor or good release, in my opinion. Especially tension in your grip.
Care to elaborate on your thoughts?
You never really emphasised the critical point and that is,
the design of the club,
the weight of the club,
the speed of the club,
the arc of the club,
the laws of motion,
the loose grip, loose arms (mentioned).
Stick to fishing.
Ed, Pfft what would he know !!!!
Thanks for saying absolutely nothing for 6 minutes. Good advertisement for your 10 step system or whatever.
Watching it again the video said everything we want to see in the release. We talked about how the pivot transports the lever, how the forearms have minimal rotation, how the trail wrists moves from extension to flexion and what causes it. We simply didn’t show our drills for teaching it for a multitude of reasons.
Thanks for watching
Honestly waste of time. Too much talking no action. Why would I have you train me if I haven’t seen you hit the ball?
There are hundreds of videos of me hitting balls.
Diamonds cut glass, right? I'm not taking my car to you. Why would I want my windshield all cut up.
