I like the addition of the clock during the time lapses, really helps give a betters sense for the sheer amount of time that goes into each small project. The eclipse is looking great
This is probably the best Eclipse in the world. Mid-engine with 53% weight distribution is arguably preferable to 4WD Evo conversion. Suspension is tuned by a proper suspension engineer. Fab and mechanical work is great. Entire build is well documented. Pretty neat.
Was watching Tavarish's latest drop from just a few minutes ago...saw this notification and immediately came over. You're the real deal Gingium, not like the other guys that barely turn a wrench themselves and pay other people to do all the actual work. Great job, love the channel and this series! 👍
Man I think you’re going to get a lot of feedback on this but I think you’re going to need to do more with the wheel wells. I mean just driving in the rain once will obliterate the engine bay
I mean no disrespect because most of this build is off the chain, but the wheel wells leave a lot to be desired. Perhaps you could look into flexible black plastic sheeting. Bucky Lasek made some fender liners for his GC project that I thought of. If you could make something similar you might be able to get a more finished look without too much trouble.
(Big recommendation) Bro, you really need to build a team of mechanics. It’s really entertaining when you get to experience diversity within a shop. I’m one of those guys who spends countless hours every day watching RUclips. Humbly speaking and coming from someone who watches RUclips more than most anyone, building a small team of mechanics who all have their own individual talent and specialties would be one of the “quickest ways” to drastically increase your audience. Anyone who watches RUclips will find themselves connecting and relating to someone, this is common within channels who have a family like structure. A perfect analogy would be the reason why the Fast & Furious franchise was such a hit. Anyone who’s watched the movies know deeply that the main focus is not just on sick ass beautiful cars, but more about the brotherhood. One of the most important things I focus on when following channels is to ensure I don’t feel like, “I’m simply watching RUclips”. My main focus is to find that sensation you get when connecting to individuals and their own unique story. Do you know what I mean? feeling like you’re apart of the crew, or in other words, visualizing my spot among the brotherhood. Now of course you are the core and the heart beat to your incredible channel, however, giving your audience diversity by adding team members will create something so magical I can only imagine the outcome. 3 million subscribers? Definitely, and very likely much more… Most importantly bring your viewers along the journey of adding new mechanics and letting us hear their story on why they love fast cars or whatever their story may be. I truly hope your channel one day does this. I’m a big fan. Sorry I’m not a patron, I can’t really afford much of anything nowadays. Even if you don’t agree but still read my extremely long recommendation all the way through I’m grateful. ☺️ ~Cheers from Colorado Springs~ -Alexander Knight
you should gusset the bottom of the battery tray so the weight of the battery doesn't eventually snap the welds and drop the battery on the ground as the winner is driving around
need a different idea with the wheel wells maybe some removable plastic ones no offence everything else looks amazing and that is just something you do in your drive way to fix a rooted wheel well
Hey Caleb I would HIGHLY suggest adding a bottom plate to your battery tray. Your battery is very susceptible to punctures with your current tray design.
Re the NACA ducts; they'll need a duct on the inside to direct air flow down and forward toward the engine (I reckon it's _really_ going to need some flow over the front/exhaust side), otherwise they'll just blow air into the space behind it.
You could get better splash and dirt protection by adding a rubber sheet to the inside of the wheel well area that attaches with bolts and riv-nuts. It would allow for access, be flexible and therefore easy to remove/reinstall for maintenance, and create a barrier to make it less of a wind tunnel from the tires into the engine bay.
Awesome work, outstanding! Side note, you have inspired me to do an 87 B2000 build that I am currently in the middle of. Thank you for the inspiration!
So nice to have a huge clean shop to be able to organize all the parts you had to remove. I had two old doors laying over two saw horses to store my El Camino parts while doing my resto in the garage. Your tenacity in doing everything has convinced me to go ahead and replace all the bushings in my NA as well.
NACA ducts should also have a slightly curved mounting position to fit the curvature of the side windows. Those rear window have serious curvature. Nice build.
Yo honestly I think your next main project shouldn’t be a give away. Maybe a side project with a lot less work. I want to really see what you are capable of. You are too rushed on this one! This car is a fabricators dreams! Love everything you are doing and always have! Watching you since pre rally Miata and have seen you grow to all of this!
Another awesome one from gingium! I love this build. It shows how much you progressed. If iay, I have one suggestion. take a course in welding. I see a lot of your welds look like they don't have the best penetration. Just a suggestion... Keep up the good work though
Engine bays def don’t get as “dirty” as this would though lol mostly dust. Not full on gravel & mud slings. Thing looks half assed built with just a bunch of tubes out back. You put all that time & effort into it just to leave it looking like a skeleton
Gotta say man, You're working so fucking hard to get this stuff done. Its incredible to see all the progress. But you're looking tired in this vid. Very tired. I hope you get a good long rest soon Pelon. Keep it coming.
My guy, you really need to roll that sound deadening material. The material shoul be smooth. The waffle/bubble pattern is there so you know when you have sufficiently pressed hard enough to get good contact. Keep up the nice work!
You could try to reuse some old plastic wheel wells to line the back. Use the plastic rivets to hold it in. You could probably just order the fronts and toss them in the rear.
The back end where the rear lights an all the light housing are you should panel in the rear to fill it out more also run panels under the car with ducts to feed cold air from under the car over the oil cooler an another cooling system you may want to stick in the rear maybe like a return oil filter with cooler built in to for the engine or the turbo that way those thing can run cooler also the Trans extra power mean s extra heat.
No offense, this car is cool but if this car is still a giveaway car, who would want to win this? Its so heavily modified that only a really experienced mechanic would be able to service it and do maintenance/fixing issues. Anyone that doesn't know as much would have a very tough time hahah
Get some nice flexible plastic, drill some holes for panel clips, and a set of rally armor mud flaps and call it a day, its all black so it will look good, its removable with the panel clips and it blocks off the engine bay so your not getting all that beautiful work dirty. Especially if this car is going up north salt is going to EAT through that shit quick
I've not been on RUclips for a few hours and all of a sudden my brain said I wonder if gingium has posted a video even though I know it's about once every week that a video is posted that's crazy to me
hey caleb love the build up to this point and this is just my opinion but TBH I really wish u put more care into the paint itself. like the car is incredible and deserves a proper paint job not just some crappy spray paint. its your car at the end of the day but i really feel that it just makes the whole build seem rushed and cheap in my opinion. love the build. and its just my opinion.
Was waiting til the end of the video to see if you did anything else with those wheel wells. I gotta say man, that is not your finest work. the whole car is freaking dope but those wells leave quite a lot to be desired.
The steel it paint lays well but isn't very durable? I preped the surface as instructed. Scratches easily, clear coat didnt help much. Awfully expensive when it doesn't last
I don't see why the wheel wells need to be full metal. Most modern wheel wells are all molded flexible type plastic and are removable. I think I good medium would be to find some for the front of an eclipse or similar style chassis and see if those fit or modify them slightly to work for this set up. Would look way more complete and factory that way imo.
Eh, close in those wells man. Fab up some bolt on panels to remove for service. A transverse engine is really susceptible to junk kicked up by wheels while driving. No sense in killing another 4g
I like the addition of the clock during the time lapses, really helps give a betters sense for the sheer amount of time that goes into each small project. The eclipse is looking great
I thought that was cool too.
He used to do it all the time. Happy he’s brought it back.
Yea I remember he did that before.
Same
Yooo, how does he do the moving perspective on the time lapse??
I would definitely try to make more full wheel wells. Rain and salt and everything won't care about that small sheet metal plate you added
I agree that there should be more of a wheel well. I hope he seam seals everything well
Really should be removeable too using some rivnuts.
I agree
Agreed but this car will probably be a weekend good weather driver only.
@@germanvineque8730 Whos to say? The winner could be in Washington state

The same thought has been in my head the whole time.
Maybe flat panels on the inside of engine bay with dzus fasteners to remove them for ease of access to make the fender wells actually blocked off ?
I mean no disrespect because most of this build is off the chain, but the wheel wells leave a lot to be desired. Perhaps you could look into flexible black plastic sheeting. Bucky Lasek made some fender liners for his GC project that I thought of. If you could make something similar you might be able to get a more finished look without too much trouble.
Maybe find some plastic fender liners from another car and trim to fit.
I think an English wheel needs to be on your shopping list of Fab tools ..been enjoying this build immensely..Go Caleb 👍💚

Hey Caleb, great work! Have you thought of putting a tray under the front where the gas tank sits?
Cheers,
Tip for next project. Fwd vw diesel swapped S14
Cant wait for the motor situation to be taken care of, and see how much power this beast is gonna make!
Seems kinda odd to have gone to so much work on to skimp on the wheel wells imo
Love how you used 2 types of CAD, Cardboard Aided Design and Computer Aided Design

It was literally a yoga mat if I remember correctly.
just curious, how come you applied a sealent instead of just welding the "mini wheel wells"
My dad has a 1986 Pontiac fiero gt that’s mid engine and it’s flippin fun 🤩
Even though Caleb is all fancy now with his computer CAD, you will always have a use good ol' CAD
What would be cool to see is some air vents made up for the rear quarter windows to help with engine cooling
Lookin clean my guy!
Calib looking buff at the end of the video
You could totally add a trunk compartment with all that dead space in the back. I think it would make a way more practical car
totally agree
Would get hot from the exhaust coil he has now. Won't be worth it.
Make a perfect food delivery car, the food would stay warm lol.
@@redsquirrelftw lol that would be true
What indicates this was meant to be a practical vehicle?

Great fabricating & awesome videos man! I really enjoy watching the progress on the Eclipse. Can’t wait to see the end result 👍🏾✌🏾
That engine bay came out amazing 🙌🔥
Ayeee back at ittt
How about removing the hatch window entery and replacing it with louvers? Can't get more airflow than that
Love the build and execution of your ideas, but i believe your battery mount wont last to long, with how it's mounted, needs an extra bracket/brace.
It would be nice to see this tested and compared to a awd gsx on a road course. Guessing the gsx would cream it.
I hope hotwheels make a special edition toy of your eclipse and also use the hotwheels sign you have in your garage on the packaging
The wheel well situation is pretty whack. Should've built full tubs.
Why does it Look so funny in the paintingnpart Where He Looks like a Jo-Jo character dodging Everything LOL
Using P clips to secure the loom will look a ton neater
Perfect video man as always ❤️ keep up the good work
I love the will to improve yourself whish I could find that motivation for myself 🙃

Are you going to make a skid plate? Or under tray
One punch man working it hard👊,car has really started to come together good!
maybe the intake naca should be top center rear windshield, and use reverse nacas to exhaust the engine bay out the side glass.
I've not been on RUclips for a few hours and all of a sudden my brain said I wonder if gingium has posted a video even though I know it's about once every week that a video is posted that's crazy to me
these new scoops i'm printing are gonna be so sick dude! i still wish we could use the NACA ducts somehow.
Hard to incorporate NACA ducts in a way that doesn't look too "race car" sometimes. I'm sure whatever you came up with will be sweet!
amazing content, love the videos
you need a powdercoating gun and oven for all those brackets. its pretty cheap
Should put a buschur 2.0 long block
maybe a drain hole on the suspension mount plate
Dude make tabs and make the wheel well removable it would look great as long as you did it smartly
In the future when your more setup. Would you think about hosting a meet and greet?
Have you ever heard parachute effect?
is not mud or dirt you got to worry about its the water when you are driving in the rain for the back guards hope the wiring is water proof
Mate I love your work but those wheel wells are not flash.
Hell yeah!
4B11T swap to replace the 4G63 power plant??🤔
is the winner getting flown over to check the car? it would make a nice video to see their reaction and such
will the delica build ever comeback to the channel?
Someone will have a real 1 off there Caleb......its just a shame for me as I live in England (UK) so I can't win it 🤷♂️
Rear quarter glass should be converted for air intake
Can’t enter because I’m in the UK
You should have had the entire rear window 3D printed with the vent.

my summer car in real life

real shame about the wheel wells but still an awesome build
Yay another raffle.
Looking at all the cable ties that came off the bottom of the car, I'd suggest stainless steel ties
If he hits anything hard enough for the plastic ties to break, there will be bigger problems than the tie material.
@@802Garage it's more to do with plastic ties will eventually go brittle over time

Not trying to be a negative Nancy. But states like Texas that mandate a yearly state inspection require a working park brake to be road legal.

Plastic wheel wells to clip in? With an engine bay as sick as this why not keep it sealed off/clean as possible
