Sure. Those guys appeal to the more casual audience who talk about things like "who wants it more". Especially if you're only talking about ESPN analysts who cover more sports than just football and don't have the time or interest to delve deeply into film if at all.
I hope the growing popularity of Brett's channel results in more strategy-driven analysis at larger media outlets. Let the pendulum swing away from the Stephen As and Skip Baylesses of the world who just pseudo-psychologize 95% of the time. You bring Xs and Os to the table with them and they can't go toe-to-toe at all. Now, of course, this takes a lot of hard work but fans of sports respond well when so-called experts don't dumb it down entirely.
He never said joey bosa wasn't going to be any good. He said he might not have the same success he had his rookie season due to circumstances beyond his control to make it easier for him to get sacks. As a redskins fan I agree with the Pryor thing
It's crazy how well this aged. Minkah has been all-pro level pretty much since his first game playing his ideal role in Pittsburgh. You even pointed out that Miami didn't need a FS.
We cant put him in the FS position just yet, we have reshad jones obviously, so putting him at nickle would be the smarter move until Reshad retires, or they could put him at back up FS for a bit until Reshads contract expires which is soon, but we need help on our defense now so i doubt we'll put him in at back up FS
Watching this again after my Steelers picked him up, hearing your high praise and recommendation that he play FS...and seeing that that's exactly where they intend to "anchor him down"....I am excited. Regardless of whether this season is a wash without Ben, it's so wonderful to see that we might have a ball hawk defensive quarterback for the next ten years.
Steelers are better now with a young hungry QB who was a steal when we drafted him! And this kid right here is what our defense is missing!! A true leader, and playmaker! And most importantly somebody who can clean up the middle of the field!!! I'm actually pumped now for the rest of the season! And by the way if I were you I would send this tape into every NFL team!! You'll be making 7 figures soon!!
These videos are always the highlight of my day! Keep up the great work man. Would love to see your take on some of this drafts QBs, a Mayfield video would be amazing.
I couldn’t find film coverage like this, ANYWHERE. I play football at the collegiate level and this even helps me. Looking for a Roquan Smith or more LBs! preciate the work!!
Man your videos sure are great! Hope you make a video about Leighton Vander Esch before the draft, one of my favourite prospects this year who I think could be a nice selection in the second half of the first round, especially for the Steelers! Keep up the good work!
you are a beast, great content as always! i feel bad for almost forgetting about your channel during the regular season and only coming back for the draft. keep it up, would love to see your tape on those quarterbacks in a longer video just cause everybody seem to have different opinions on those
Hell of a video. Only thing I'll say is while I think you're spot on in Fitzpatrick's fit as a FS in a cover 3, I think what makes him a truly special prospect is what positions you can put him at in Nickel, and cover 2 man. So yea most of the time he'll be the FS in cover 3, but on 1st and 2nd down he'll be a weapon used basically all over the field.
flako4rmdade305 the perfect fit, needed a free safety for that cover 3, now we'll see that defense that faced the Pats in South Beach on a consistent basis
Welcome to Miami Mink! Going to play with and learn from one of the best in Probowler Reshad Jones. Can't wait to see Mink on the field with Reshad and Xavien Howard!
Great analysis of Fitzpatrick because the dolphins wanted to use him as a cb and the Steelers were wise enough to use him as a free safety aka ballhawk. Your details were spot on👍
It’s crazy because you say how he should be best used as a ball hawking middle free safety. Steelers trade for him and that’s exactly what he became. Using instinct and his iq to make plays and be in the right place at the right time. Good call
Minkah reminds me of a Earl tohmas esk FS. He has the insane closing speed and that unteachable ability to track the routs and know where the QB is going to throw before they know.
2:11 Amen. Found out the hard way when I flipped a Cover 3 so the SS is playing deep, and he was absolutely trash in space because he was a hard-hitting SS, who has nothing else but height (6'3", but was drafted as a man corner).
Last sentence is one of your best takes. Now that Minkah plays free safety 80% of the time he has became a 3 time first team all pro in 4 years with the Steelers
I play free safety in madden and play cover 3 . I need a free safty with these skill sets on my defense or it's horrible , but it turns right around when I get a good one. pretty cool this explains exactly why ! Love your videos
Man, him playing deep zones next to J. Simmons with man underneath by C.H.jr and B Roby would be nasty...roll em down over the slot, play em high, all sorts of mix and match
Man... I savour these video breakdowns! Made sure to Click the Bell Notification this time. I appreciate what you do. Question... Where/How do you get film to break down???
Craig Newman TJ can move down to play a safety/linebacker hybrid role. He has the physicality and size to do that but not the range for FS. Great pick that helps Miami improve in two areas defensively.
Totally agree with you on this. I believe he will thrive at the FS spot. I was telling ppl when he gets drafted he might start out as a corner but when it’s all said and done he will be a FS
i was saying it about malcolm jenkins and i said it about kenny vacarro, stick them at one position let them get better at it. repetiiton builds consistency and improvement, Guess the saints didnt learn the first time around
Who else here cause STEELERS got this young stud!
Anthony Nava I watched this before he was drafted hoping the Steelers would trade up for him somehow... couldn’t be happier
He’s clearly their best safety since Troy Polamalu.
Gatien Laurol, that’s a very low bar.
Banana Narwhals a low bar i think your thinking of a different Troy Polamalu
@@dylanalexander4784, every safety since him
You're smarter than most of the actual NFL analysts...
Sure. Those guys appeal to the more casual audience who talk about things like "who wants it more". Especially if you're only talking about ESPN analysts who cover more sports than just football and don't have the time or interest to delve deeply into film if at all.

He works for SB Nation
He never said joey bosa wasn't going to be any good. He said he might not have the same success he had his rookie season due to circumstances beyond his control to make it easier for him to get sacks. As a redskins fan I agree with the Pryor thing
He never once said that Bosa wasn't good so try again little buddy
It's crazy how well this aged. Minkah has been all-pro level pretty much since his first game playing his ideal role in Pittsburgh. You even pointed out that Miami didn't need a FS.
Came to watch again after THE STEELERS TRADED FOR THIS MAN!!! :D
Same I can’t wait for next season
Very well made video. As a dolphins fan you've got me hyped. Now it's just going to be a matter of if the coaches know how to use him.
Drew Gooden yeah I’m super excited. Don’t count on it though! Love your vids also
We cant put him in the FS position just yet, we have reshad jones obviously, so putting him at nickle would be the smarter move until Reshad retires, or they could put him at back up FS for a bit until Reshads contract expires which is soon, but we need help on our defense now so i doubt we'll put him in at back up FS
Jones is SS.
Drew Gooden I'm surprised you didn't make a joke on the episode number.
Drew Gooden damn Drew never knew you were into football 👍 I pray for your soul tho being a dolphins fan. At least you got a good return on tunsil
Brett I'm telling you man you could sell me anyone in the draft. Your breakdowns could have me taking Mr Irrelevant #1 overall
I’d love to see what you think about his fit on the Steelers and the move as a whole for a team that has a lot of questions.
It worked
Brett flew into Pittsburgh for the Rams game so he could watch Minkah in person to make a video.
I just want to say 3 years later that you were spot on with this take
It’s honestly kinda scary how accurate he was with this
Dude I’m saying!!! I love Brett’s channel
How many offers do you have from nfl teams?
Haha, I wish. It would be fun to be an area scout for an organization. Hopefully on the west coast lol.
But seriously keep up the good work. Thanks for the vids.
With the great content you are putting out, it's only a matter of time. Keep up the great work.
Brett Kollmann if you were a scout what position group would you want to scout
come to SF homie
Lol you were spot on, you said when the team puts his at FS its not a matter of if, its when. The year he gets put at FS: All-Pro
Exactly
Here in a minute. Maybe denzel ward next
I'll get to him soon for sure
Yes plz. Ill donate to the patreon for a denzel ward breakdown. Gotta see if he's a fit for my 49ers…..
Dante Hernandez he isn't. He's too short and too grabby. He will be a great corner though but for our system.
No
Derwin James
Corners like him fit everyone lol. Ohio State is a damn DB factory right now.
6 games into the Minkah experience in Pittsburgh ... you're a genious man
Watching this again after my Steelers picked him up, hearing your high praise and recommendation that he play FS...and seeing that that's exactly where they intend to "anchor him down"....I am excited. Regardless of whether this season is a wash without Ben, it's so wonderful to see that we might have a ball hawk defensive quarterback for the next ten years.
Exactly what he’s going to be playing on the Steelers!!
Haha Clinton-Dix and Minkah Fitzpatrick, the Alabama safety duo 👀
Jan Nelle Landon Collins as well🔥🔥🔥
Jan Nelle That would be nice but we need a outside corner first lol
Jan Nelle he would never fall that low
Plus, Morgan Burnett has played better than Ha-Ha so benching Morgan would be idiotic
blunt balloons Burnett is not a Packers player anymore
Coming back to this video as Steelers fan
jmaster1245 lets goo! New generation up and coming
jmaster1245 so you weren’t a Steelers fan the first time you watched the video?
@@mserrata19 no been a Steelers fan for life. Saying coming back to this video because minkah now a Steelers and I'm hyped
jmaster1245 lol I’m just messing with you. The way your worded it made it seem like you’ve just turned into a Steelers fan.
@@mserrata19 ah lol. 😄
Watching this during Minkah's All-Pro year with the Steelers. You are a prophet.

Janco Ice Rockets you stupid
@@jancoicerockets9758 goofy
Here after he got his 3rd all pro honor, you did not miss
I've been saying for a couple months now that Minkah reminds me almost exactly of Jenkins. Always feels good to hear a guy like Brett say the same.
He's a Dolphin, and I'm really happy about it!!! Welcome Minkah to SoFlo
MoZaRt81 And know he might be gone
Joshua Jackson plz...his ball skills are amazing.
Badger fans know this sadly.
kill 2 birds with 1 stone ... a video comparing Jackson/Ward would be dope
Gangsta Butters That would be a cool video
He going to the packers
Lmfao. Would've been a shutout if not for Jackson. My God that was a beatdown...
You NAILED this
Great analysis Funny looking back at this. Traded to Steelers been playing only FS and has 4 picks in 6 games
These videos are always the highlight of my day! Keep up the great work man. Would love to see your take on some of this drafts QBs, a Mayfield video would be amazing.
So now it is official, the browns won't take Fitzpatrick because it makes too much sense. Thanks for clearing that up and great video as per usual.
LOVE your content Brett! Wish you would do reports on the QBs and RBs
Really happy to hear such a good review on the newest Steeler. 👍🏾
Brett, you hit the nail on the head. Minkah is a beast and he is tenacious.
I couldn’t find film coverage like this, ANYWHERE. I play football at the collegiate level and this even helps me. Looking for a Roquan Smith or more LBs! preciate the work!!

We have a Jim Schwartz style defense, will be our Malcolm Jenkins
Theo G So glad Miami got him !

Theo G hell yeah my G
Theo G nope
Fins down. Here we go
Also meant to say, I had been hoping and waiting for you to do a vid on Minkah--Thanks
It's sad how quick I get to these videos, they're too good!
Welcome to Miami Mink! Going to play with and learn from one of the best in Probowler Reshad Jones. Can't wait to see Mink on the field with Reshad and Xavien Howard!

Well you got this one on the nail
Good stuff. Easily my favorite football channel on youtube. Keep up the hard work!
Minkah reminds me of a Earl tohmas esk FS. He has the insane closing speed and that unteachable ability to track the routs and know where the QB is going to throw before they know.
Great work, as always, and I dig the new background track.
So much knowledge!! I'm loving your videos thanks and keep it going your fantastic!
Welcome to the Dolphins bro. Help change that culture my man.
You didn’t do Malcolm Jenkins but you did Minkah so that’s works for me.
No better game tape analysis than this on the internet.
2:11 Amen. Found out the hard way when I flipped a Cover 3 so the SS is playing deep, and he was absolutely trash in space because he was a hard-hitting SS, who has nothing else but height (6'3", but was drafted as a man corner).
Wow, you just earned yourself a subscribed. Excellent analysis. Thank you!
Do you plan on making a Harold Landry breakup? As a pass rusher specialists he looks incredible, but he was injured last year.
9:31 Totally Agree
Thanks! I am super pumped to have him on the Dolphins.
I’m dead sitting here eating breakfast and mans had to upload a video😂
Joshua Calvin you know you can eat breakfast and watch a video at the same time.....right?
By eating breakfast he means suckin a mean dick
Wait....you're dead?
Excellent breakdown, absolutely no excuse for the browns to not take him.
Great video. Old bridge and Piscataway R actually about 7 minutes apart other than that great job!
Last sentence is one of your best takes. Now that Minkah plays free safety 80% of the time he has became a 3 time first team all pro in 4 years with the Steelers

The Fact That He Mentions Bryan Poole ! You sir Definitely Knows Football
Tape don't lie
Who’s here after the trade?
Props on the video. Go dolphins! I'm glad we finally got our all pro free safety
omg that comparison is spot on thank you
well, you must be shocked?! i’m pretty pleased he’s a fin.
Extreme versatility with Minkah
Man, him playing deep zones next to J. Simmons with man underneath by C.H.jr and B Roby would be nasty...roll em down over the slot, play em high, all sorts of mix and match
Jenkins the most underrated db in league he makes our secondary work
Well...the Steelers have him now.
Wow I compared him to Jenkins too. Where ever he lands, he need to be a free safety and he will be a pro bowler.
Why does Brett hit on every defensive player but barely any offensive
Man... I savour these video breakdowns! Made sure to Click the Bell Notification this time. I appreciate what you do. Question... Where/How do you get film to break down???
Look how Minkah playing FS changed the Steelers defense completely
Not making episode 69 about Gronk......
Excellent work though!!
this video aged so well
Sure hope he gets used a middle fielder in Pittsburgh 😰 they’ve been playing a lot more cover 1 the past couple yrs so maybe🤔
You got your wish 85% of the time.
My dolphins got him!
Brett, I really hope you've sent some applications to nfl network, nbc, fox, cbs, espn, etc cuz ur a certified stud at analysis
Ironically I used to work at NFLN lol
damn Brett your breakdown was spot on goddamn
good job brett now all the yinzers are here
I'll tell you this, if I were a GM this guy would be in my scouting department
welcome to the steelers
Love the channel bro. I feel like you gotta get Derwin James or Roquan Smith next as sequals to Minkah and Tremaine.
Dolphins need a FS. Bobby McCain is our slot corner and TJ McDonald isn't a FS. He's gonna be our starting FS this year
Craig Newman TJ can move down to play a safety/linebacker hybrid role. He has the physicality and size to do that but not the range for FS. Great pick that helps Miami improve in two areas defensively.
fuck you are good at talking.i wish you were a bear reporter on bear fan talk radio .am subbing after this
Anyone else get chills at the end of this video???
Me :)
Welcome to Miami Minkah! Minkah = FS, Jones = SS...Hopefully now we can store up that backfield. Phins Up
Good information, welcome to the Steelers
Great video, can you do Bradley Chubb soon
He's on my list for sure
Brett Kollmann
He didn't do anything against ND defensive line.
Notre Dame's OL kicked the shit out of the NC State defense that whole game. It was amazing.
Journey Keen he had 3 TFL and a sack. The year prior he had 3.5 TFL and 3 sacks.
Austin Burgess who cares about chubb
Aye 8:07 was a gift😂that was touchdowns QB ate Popcorn before the game tho but hey a gift is a gift
Your football iq is through the roof
Great analysis
Old bridge NJ. Hope he has a great year. And a pic 6 on Brady lol
Totally agree with you on this. I believe he will thrive at the FS spot. I was telling ppl when he gets drafted he might start out as a corner but when it’s all said and done he will be a FS
Just like Jenkins. Maybe a year max at corner just to see what happens, and then he'll move.
Even BK throwing shade at Kevin Byard.
Most slept on channel ‼️
i was saying it about malcolm jenkins and i said it about kenny vacarro, stick them at one position let them get better at it. repetiiton builds consistency and improvement, Guess the saints didnt learn the first time around
Excellent breakdown man
Just a thought, what if the Colts took him at 3? You would have 2 safeties that fit their scheme, and he can fill in anywhere else as needed.
Carson Palmer stared JJ Nelson down on that cover 3 example. If he looks the FS off, he holds him in center a bit longer.
I mean Jenkins plays like every position for the eagles lol
