    The crazy part of the Manning play was that it probably wouldn't have worked on anyone BUT Manning. Manning was a disciple of the film room and Ed said that for like 2-3 weeks, he did that same move to the middle because he knew he was playing Manning soon. Manning had that move almost ingrained in his mind so when Ed did the flip around, Peyton was completely caught off guard.
    Literal chess match going on for weeks just for this one interception.

      I think its more reading the pump fake move of manning. He said Manning would throw in the direction he pumps, especially if he sees the safety go in the opposite direction. So when manning pumps that way, reed fakes that he is going in the opposite direction. He also makes it look as if his eyes are not on manning, but he still can see manning in his periphery. Then as SOON as he sees manning wind up he knows where he is going and turns around and books it to that spot. Either way its amazing next level athleticism smarts and talent. But I think he could actually see manning making the throw out of the corner of his eye

    I miss Ed Reed. Tipped balls, you knew he wasn't far away. Sometimes he wasn't even in the frame of the TV yet but you knew he was there. Im telling you it seemed 9 out of ten times he'd intercept the pass. I mean a bad year for him was like 6 INTs. You'd be like oh, he had a down year. He was the best player on that defense for most of the time he played. Out of all the Ravens defenses from about 20 years of great defense I miss him most. There will never be another Ed Reed.

    The best thing about Ed was you just knew he's gonna make a play to save the day. Someway, somehow. It was inevitable. It was like watching a superhero lol

  • @lukintube
    @lukintube 4 года назад +4

    On the pick at 2:30 he wasn't out of bounds, he flipped it to McAlister before stepping out. McAlister had a lot of open field and was a great returner himself. This was the 2006 playoffs and if the refs would have just let this play go the outcome could have very well been different. The Colts won the super bowl 2 games later, but that was one of the best Ravens teams.

    He didn't show one of his trademarks. Early in his career he was great at blocking kicks, Punts especially. I think he did it like 3-4 times in his first 2-3 seasons. He was amazing. As a Ravens fan you always knew we weren't gonna get lit up by nobody because of him, and guys like Chris McCallister, Samari Rolle...For 20 years the Ravens had like no offense but were in EVERY game. Earlier this year they got blown out by Cleveland and it was really odd because most Ravens fans have NEVER seen that. It literally doesn't happen. Since like 2000, the Ravens, every week, in just about every game are in the game until the end. That's amazing.

    Ed Reed aka "ed ReEd" actually had 14 total touchdowns in his career - including the one in playoffs @ Miami - via interceptions, fumbles, block𝙀𝙙 punts & a return𝙀𝙙 punt (the only player in NFL history to achieve said feat of scoring in each of these 4 different ways). Plus, he also once scored by way of hand-off - following an interception - from fellow DB teammate, CB Samari Rolle. Thus, he did NOT score a total of ten times, as was proclaimed by Brian Baldinger during this film breakdown! Additionally, the aforementioned fumbles were forced by Ed himself, and he also accounted for all 3 of his own block𝙀𝙙 punt return touchdowns! What a special individual, both on and off the field!
