This was one of the best CRT repair overview videos I’ve seen. You just got a tech newbie excited about attempting to repair my dead Trinitron. You kept my attention all the way through. Interesting to listen to and very informative. Thank you, Ian.
We are glad that you enjoyed it so much! Ian is an expert at repairing CRTs. Thank you so much and your support for our organization. Please spread the word!
Never been to a VCF event. So this is my first time seeing any of this. That is excellent. I always wondered what degausing was for. Really appreciate this man. Keep it up.
Indeed. Not doing this kind of thing but only yesterday I threw some cheapy test leads out. One thing you could do is check your test leads _after_ discharging
No. He doesn't. He could have a lot of great content if he did. It is a lot of work to have a RUclips channel with regular content. He is a tinkerer who loves the challenger of repairing all sorts of technology. He goes to VCF East, VCF MidWest, K-Fest. He also supplies all the CRT's to several Super Smash Bros. He goes by the handle @Sark on several messaging systems.
Could I ship you a 1994 era 20" sony CRT to see if you can do anything with the focus and convergence? I could even send you some photos of it showing a test pattern. Is that something I could pay you for? I also have a 13" sony CRT built in 2001 I would be interested in being RGB modded. If not is there anyone in the USA you could recommend? I tried to email you but the email address on your youtube channel bounced back

Awesome! Just the info I was looking for! Please keep it coming :) Thanks!
Thanks for sparing a moment to think of people in 230V countries.
Yeah. There are definitely differing voltages around the world that need to be accounted for.
Ian is the CRT man! --AmigaBill

Don't use cheap chinesium clip leads for discharging. This is for your safety so use some reliable wire / clips.

So glad I watched this because I seem to have the same issue and could not find a fix for it
