You should stop apologizing for painting the greenhouse. It turned out amazing … and yes, I was one of those people who thought you were crazy when you even mentioned painting the wood, but as usual, your idea and execution were on point.
I don't think most folks realize what it's like to put out content and have hundreds of comments bashing your personal choices that have absolutely no effect on the viewers. Most of us get one rude comment and end up going back & forth, wasting time. I think she addresses it just fine without giving it too much energy or changing the positive tone of the video. ✌🏿
Regarding your “missing” tulips….. We have deer too. (I refer to them as G D D’s. ) because they have eaten all my so called tough “dear proof” plants and shrubs. However, I was told that deer do not like Daffodils! But love tulips. So we planted daffy’s, and they passed them by. Yeah!
I love the white greenhouse. I would have done the exact same thing! Also thank you for turning me to Landscape Direct. I’ve ordered from them a few times and waiting for a big annual haul this week. Can’t wait to see it in full bloom in your summer tour.
I love this. As someone who’s been following your external renovations, I was curious about your yard. You’ve totally transformed it. It’s so green and colourful. “The birds love it and I love them back” 🥹🥹 Treehouse is so pretty. Artwork by your followers is amazing
The lilacs are leaning because they are planted too close to the fence. They want to spread to about 10 ft, which means 5 ft all around. You can stake them but they will be a bit lopsided because of the fence.
Thank you for watching!! Yes you're right they definitely need to be spread out. We planted them on a windy day (the wind comes from that direction) so they went into the ground crooked and we never fixed it! 🥲 We will adjust them and give them more space this year
It is amazing what you have achieved in such a short time! Everything looks beautiful. I absolutely love the white greenhouse and the lemon light fixture. I think it looks more whimsical and magical than had you left it natural or painted a dark colour. Your dress is also really pretty. It matched the tour of the treehouse😃
Just wanted to say, it is amazing all the beautiful changes you've made. Really enjoy your videos. ❤️ Love everything, especially the firepit area. I live in West Texas and it is dry and hard to grow beautiful plants. Still inspired by your videos and working on a few projects myself. Thank you for sharing!
I like the black chain link fence. Black is much harder to see from a distance. We aren't allowed chain link in Australia as kids could climb it. We do use black pool fencing a lot because of its ability to fade into the background
Don't use black mulch. Just use regular arborist chip! Talk to some local arborists and see if they'll drop off truckloads of chip for you. Often you can get it for free.
i’m not normally a yt girlie but i love supporting you guys and i especially love that you’re using some revenue towards the olive branch project 🫶🏼 LOVE what you’ve done with the backyard!!
I absolutely love your back yard and what you have and are creating! It’s beautiful and I can’t wait to see it this summer. I absolutely love your ‘white’ green house! You have quite the creative vision of what to create and I love it! I just started watching your channel and look forward to following you.
Would you ever consider building a koi pond? My neighbors have one and I think it’s the coolest thing! I’ve been following you guys since 2020 and you’ve done beautiful work!
Y’all have been missed❣️ Regarding the pool fencing replacement, keep in mind that it will need to be at least 5’ to keep the deer out. It would be really cool if you could replicate the vegetable garden fencing around the pool. It would be a great place to grow annual vines. Tulips are beautiful, but, as you have found, they are tasty to deer and rabbits. They also end up basically being annuals. they bloom beautifully the first year and then by the third year they’ve disappeared. Daffodils on the other hand are toxic to animals and will not be eaten and they will multiply. Consider putting more of your bulb budget into daffodils.
Maybe rocks instead of mulch. Saw it on yt and in person around the neighborhood. You don't have to replace it every year. I had white rock in my front yard.
love the greenhouse it looks really nice white.... your backyard is beautiful (looks better every year 🙂)... I remember when y'all built the treehouse it's so cute I had a few growing up I wish they looked like that cause I'd always spent the weekend up in the tree.....I had 3~ one at each place we lived lol none were in our yard just way back in the woods up to a half a mile my home sweet home 🙂 I had my husband build one for our kids when they were younger (they are all your age now 😂)
DYK that you can make quick raised flowerbeds using steel file cabinets. You can paint them any color. (Take out the drawers. Lay them on their backs.)
We have a Rod iron fence around our pool but when we put our pool in many years ago it was the inspectors that insisted on it and I have discussed with my husband taking it down but along with my large dog I have a Pomeranian and I have heard so many nightmare stories about small dogs drowning even though I specifically put a sundeck in just for the dogs but it keeps that fence up for me. I also through the years have removed any kind of flowers away from my pool, the wasps and bees just would not stop coming so I finally moved them away and got just really pretty bushes to put near the pool and we are so much happier because of it. We have also happily added corn hole and I can’t tell you how much fun we have had with family and friends, it’s been a fun addition. I mean growing up we had a lot more land and my parents had horseshoe pits built in and also a volleyball net but we also lived on 2 acres. Your backyard is like a dream it truly is you guys have done such an awesome job. By the way have you tried a salt block for the deers? I know they love it and I’m just wondering if it would either entice them to come into your yard more and eat things or if it would give them something so they didn’t, I guess that would be more research to do though lol 😂 my grandmother had the most beautiful peonies and when we moved to Vegas my mom took a couple and they lasted for about 20 years but when she moved into a smaller place she couldn’t take them so we drive by that house once in a while just to peek at them.
Allllll great. 😊❤🌱🌿🌱🌻🌳⚘️🏡🌅 Really, really great. Your property is fantastic. Your hard work shows. Keep up the great work, I'm very happy for you both. 😊✌️👍🍀🌻
My dad’s a carpenter and would always disagree with me whenever I painted wood but sometimes it’s just what’s called for. It’s different if it’s a fine hardwood but when it’s garden softwood? It’s silly to stick with it just because it’s wood. The greenhouse looks incredible painted.
Greenhouses just look good white… I love it! But, all greenhouses look good, just because they are a greenhouse… anyone critical, just isn’t a hardcore garden appreciator… lol… I did some wood stain for an outdoor application and in my research, I found that it’s good to seal the wood, before staining… that will give the stain a more even finish… and I don’t recall if anyone suggested sealing after stain too… but, it becomes quite a bit more of an expense in terms of time and money… but, I have found it made a nice lasting difference. Just in case you or anyone reading this might benefit from this info. PS… Laura at garden answer did a sealer experiment, and if you want something to be waterproofed, you need to do FIVE layers of sealer. Rustoleum brand is the best and most widely available off the shelf… but I think there were one or two other brands that worked just fine… one brand created a white haze, if I recall… which might be desirable for some applications… chk out Laura’s video on Garden Answer
Deer love tulips but ignore daffodils. They als🎉o have no love for herbs such as sage or lavender. I put in cone flowers last year supposed to be deer resistant but they had a few nibbles . Good luck this year, you have an amazing garden.
Please don't apologize for wanting to paint everything white lol. I cannot stand everything white but that is my personal preference. I still think it looked great on the end and it's your greenhouse. I am fully happy for you even though we don't agree on this one detail. I'm still living for the backyard makeovers and updates. 🍻🍻🍻 Btw, i always am happy to see the treehouse🥰i forget about it and i just love it so much!
I get my bird seed in bulk for less than 15$ a month :) i also found it expensive being a 'bird mom' so i shopped around ;) beautiful work in your garden and around your home :)
Deer really like Ivy and my idea is that you plant it in the woods back a bit because it’s very invasive and between your husband peeing and giving them a food source in the woods maybe they’ll leave your tulips alone🤞🏻Good luck. Your back yard is amazing. How big is it? It looks like it could be 2 acres?
I've seen people paint rocks the same color as their flower or fruit in their garden so that the animals try to eat those, and then they go away when they can't eat it
Suggestion for the chain link fence if you don’t want to replace it: paint it white and start growing vines all over it, it’ll look beautiful.
The whimsical pathway to the tree house sounds magical!!
You should stop apologizing for painting the greenhouse. It turned out amazing … and yes, I was one of those people who thought you were crazy when you even mentioned painting the wood, but as usual, your idea and execution were on point.

Loving the garden!! 🌷💕 Your page always teaches me how important it is to be patient with home/garden projects 😂
That plant looks like a wild rose to me. So pretty later with all the small pink flowers! And the birds will love the fruits in winter 😊
Since the birds love the hips (berries/seeds), they are most likely responsible for planting that rose❣️
@@DarrinsDaffs 😃 true! 🌸♥️
Definitely a wild rose. They smell wonderful in bloom!

Ackley living his best life🥰
I love how you keep telling him he’s a good boy,
Oh the tree house! I wanted one like that when i was a child, now 70and i would still adore it. Your garden is lovely! ❤
I’m just happy to see y’all’s faces again! The yard looks fantastic!
Beautiful, your hard work has paid off.
Thank you so much!! ❤️

Thank you so much friend!! ❤️
That tree house is just the sweetest thing. I love when you take us way back there to check on it. 💜
Your work is so inspiring and beautiful. ❤❤❤❤
Awe thank you Mary! You always leave the nicest comments ❤️
Garden looks amazing, i love the little pockets of garden beds around the trees. Great job!

Happy for you both that you got a bit of a break from filming in April. Glad to see you back! Can't wait to see what's on deck for next week.
Love the gardens. I've revamped all of mine around the house this spring. You make me wanna add more in the yard. I may need to start planning

It’s gonna look very beautiful in a few years! Just keep going, you got it!

you guys should build a big dog house for Aspen and Ackley!

5:48 I think that is a dog rose/rosa canina and the berries are called rosehips, you can make tea from them.

I really like you fence. It looks very clean and high end IMO.
Love the greenhouse and the treehouse looks very beautiful😊😊
Love this video. I always get excited to watch your videos.
You could put in a cute little bridge from the lower back yard to the tree house.
DYK that you can make quick raised flowerbeds using steel file cabinets. You can paint them any color. (Take out the drawers. Lay them on their backs.)
What a sweet memorial to your G4andparents very inspiring
Loving EVERYTHING. So cool to see your passion in the garden. What about a fruit orchard? Fruit trees?
What a beautiful green house!
I want have a same one for myself in future ❤
Beautiful garden, everything looks good!

Have you thought about daffodils instead of tulips? The deer won’t eat them. Love your egg chairs. Love your garden!
White greenhouse looks amazing too. Looks better than the brown tbh
A suggestion: put some gravel down between the little Flagstones to eliminate the look of sharp corners. (Min. 3.40)
I’m so glad you took a well deserved break, but I’ve missed your videos and I’m so excited you’re back. 🤍

Yay thank you for the long form upload
Do white pea gravel by your green house. You said the black mulch doesn't work and it does fade and get ugly. I would suggest pea gravel.
Deer love tulips but ignore daffodils. They als🎉o have no love for herbs such as sage or lavender. I put in cone flowers last year supposed to be deer resistant but they had a few nibbles . Good luck this year, you have an amazing garden.

Beautiful work! 😊
I ❤ my solar fountain.
Deer don’t like daffodils, so you might think about planting them. They even come in shades of pink!
Deer tend to leave my daylily and irises alone, also they don't eat daffodils we have a lot of deer pressure on our property😅
Deer really like Ivy and my idea is that you plant it in the woods back a bit because it’s very invasive and between your husband peeing and giving them a food source in the woods maybe they’ll leave your tulips alone🤞🏻Good luck. This might be rosehip you are nurturing in your garden bed 😊
I think you are right!!! Thank you SO much
Put some kind of vine on the chain fence.
😃🎉 Excellent
I subscribed to your channel 🙏
White stones/gravel instead of the bark xx
Just beautiful
I would love to paint greenhouse white ! 🤍
Potted fruit trees by the fence?
Yes love that idea!
תודה ❤❤❤
**Needs a two person swing for you and the dog, not Andrew** Poor Andrew, but love it lol.
How many acres is this? It looks massive!
Idea.Plat climbing plants in than chain wall
You can paint your mulch! Instead of replacing every yr
Is that reddish weed a dogwood plant?
I 💖💘💝🩷🩷❤️💛💚💞💞💗love EVERYTHING 🥹
I couldn't see it very well but the plant kind of looked like a small crepe myrtle bush.
Do your dogs eat your flowers?? Mine do 😅
They don’t thankfully!! Aspen eats worms but that’s the extent of it 😂
I see fence, so deer still get in?
The deer have no mercy!
Where in Canada are you?
The one plant looks like a goose berrie
It’s a dog rose
You should be able to get mulch for free from the municipality
Plant some deer resistant flowers:)
I've seen people paint rocks the same color as their flower or fruit in their garden so that the animals try to eat those, and then they go away when they can't eat it
How big is your LOT?
👏👏🤩🤩💗💗💕💕
Xin Chào ❤
Deer can and will jump that fence.
FYI, most wild animals are put off by the smell of marigolds.
SPLIT LEVEL, SPLIT LEVEL, SPLIT LEVEL
😏
Put Cayenne pepper on them. They won’t eat them then.
Deer don't like Lavender
Why dont you have kids?
