You can either buy the D’Adarrio set or get a 12-string set and use the octave strings for the 3rd - 6th strings along with one each of the 1st and 2nd strings. That leaves you with a standard 6-string set you can put on another guitar.

Funny thing. I follow pretty much all things guitar and daily hear of new-to me players. Recently after a concert introduced my daughter back stage to some Grammy winning guitar players and other players. (A few toured for decades in bands playing arenas as headliners). Found out she heard of most too. Many are beyond her mid- forty age group. I suck at music but appreciate the genius of all you dedicated musicians. It is a tough business.

I have asked a ton of guitar players what Nashville tuning was. I wish I had the answers I have gotten for 20 years. It started for me when the Eagles Take it easy, i could play along buy you could hear the slight diffrent tone. I asked and was told one guitar is Nashville tuned but the cords are the same. Now I see what they are doing inside that song. Still have to have two guitars play it close to the recorded version.

Nashville tuning was used on the "Nashville Cats" single by The Loving Spoonful and extensively on their third studio album, titled "Hums of the Lovin' Spoonful." The album was released in 1966 and featured some of their most well-known songs, including "Summer in the City" and "Rain on the Roof." "Nashville Cats" became one of the highlights of the album and showcased the band's folk-rock sound and John Sebastian's songwriting skills.
"Summer In the City" 45 single was the first record I ever bought - I was 12.
It was after school and I left it on the upstairs front seat of a double decker bus. Despite standing at the bus stop asking every #10 bus conductor for hours I never got it back. I don't blame TLS... 😂
