Thanks for the hot wiring tip. My exact issue was resolved by blowing dust out and then applying a light smear of DIELECTRIC grease ($6+ at AutoZone) across the receptor ("female") - in the video, the brown piece that plugs into the black casing holding. Seriously, tah-dah! Hope what worked for me, works for others. (Because I know a repair shop or dealership would've gladly charged me a couple thousand to replace the sunroof. (2002 Z71 Chevrolet 1500 Suburban)

I found this video very interesting and helpful! I was initially searching if a clogged sunroof drain would cause a blower motor to go out after an extreme rainstorm
I had a bit of trouble removing the plug once I got the console down but the instructions were spot on!! I got the sunroof closed. No more leaks for now. I'll get a new switch and wait for some dry weather before I put it in and test it. Thanks!!

hi thanks for watching if u hear motor sounds when pressing switch probably means its off track, if not maybe switch and method should work on your truck. Good luck Please subscribe.
Thanks bro! This worked like a charm.. i see why u were careful not to put the switch back in to show how to remove it.. taking that part out was a bitch. I actually broke the clip. All in all though finally got the roof closed after getting my truck wet for weeks. I appreciate you! 🙏🏾

Watch the video. Took the light down and did the plug, and did the wire and I had a tiny second of a sound and then nothing. So I got the schematics and found where the sunroof fuse was because I thought it might be that. But found that the door windows and mirrors and the sunroof on the O2 are all on the same fuse so that means the fuse was fine. I had read the comment about the dielectric grease that was mentioned before hand and so before I closed it up I put some grease on the tongues and plug the relay back into its power source, And then close the whole thing back up, giving up on the whole thing to go eat.Sampled the button just for the heck of it and boom my window works again so dielectric grease there’s also a very good solution make sure you check it out mine was only$ 6.95 or something

Is it more likely for it to be my switch that needs to be replaced or my sunroof motor? My sunroof is closed but won’t open, and it doesn’t make any noise or move at all and it’s really frustrating. All the fuses are good
Robert Taylor thanks for watching from what you said yes it's the most common problem with sunroofs, and the motors don't go out very often. Please Subscribe and share if haven't already and check out my other helpful videos.

Flashback502 sure no problem!! But the switch has 12 little hole. I don’t know which whole I have to put the wire. I just tried it. Lemme try upload a picture of it! The way you did is great man!
@@Flashback502 Thanks FB. I know - and you were so clear about it too! It did do something because now it does not click at all. Im taking it in to have someone fix it. I just wanted to make sure I had some facts before I end up getting over charged. I'll check the fuse. Just thought you may know. Loved the video. Thanks again!

If the window moves when you press the button then switch is good, you may have something blocking your track or your window may be off track or your window pully system could be jamed. Mines an 07 Tahoe and the back lifts up but it won't slide at all. And even though it's closed it still has a small enough gap to leak. Sad thing is I can't find anything on it. But thanks for the vid bro.

If it has that many spots should use a tester to find hot spots and use a thin piece of wire to jump

Mine was backwards, it opens with the wiring you say closes it and it wont do anything if I try the other way. Stays open and wont close. Please help
If it won't close either you have something wrong with your motor or something stuck in your track.
Uh....what damage did I do when I stuck the wire in the wrong spot and it sparked? Lol - Hoping I just blew a fuse?
Most likly it did nothing just remember tho spots so don't use again.

My switch works but want close all the way it's like it's getting stuck and want go all the way up to close
You may have something blocking your window track. Please like subscribe and share.
? Even after following your instructions still cannot get the window to close. You can here it trying and watch the window move but move just a little
If you see it move but won't close then u have a track or motor problem. This method will not fix your problem.
And if that doesn't work guys check your fuse it's number 25 that trick didn't work for me until I replace the fuse
Mines not working
Either your motor may be bad or your switch is bad. If your switch is bad, this should work. Hope you get it fixed.
