  • ✩ Cyclebar vs. Orange Theory | Why I chose Cyclebar | VLOGMAS DAY 6
In this video I share all my opinions about both Cyclebar and Orane Theory. I go into detail of why I chose a Cyclebar membership over Orange Theory. I overall think Orange Theory is fine and it's designed for certain people, but it wasn't a good fit for me. I hope this video give you some info if you don't know anything about either fitness brand. #cyclebar #orangetheory

I’m with you on the counting!! I tried a class… you can’t get lost in it like you can in CycleBar, you don’t have to think! You just follow along, go and have fun!

Hey girl! OTF coach here. :) first of all I’m sorry that you had that experience when you took your intro class! I think a lot of it does sound like preference, but it sounds to me like you didn’t get a very passionate coach either, and that’s not fun. :(
At the studio I work at, we love to put those inspirational sayings in there and really be your cheerleader. But we also love to challenge you and push you towards that progressive overload, so that you can meet those goals with more variety.
To clarify on the different types of classes, we have three different focuses: endurance, strength and power.
So on endurance days, you’ll see maybe some lighter speeds on the tread and rower, but for longer distances. You’ll see higher reps on the weight floor with medium weights.
On strength days, you’ll see a lot of inclines on the tread, and heavy dumbbells on the weight floor but with less reps. For the rower, you’ll go for a heavy leg drive back and slower on the way forward to give you a heavy deadlift feeling.
And then on power days, it’s lots of explosive energy. So a lot of plyometrics and jumping, short sprints on the tread and shorter explosive efforts on the rower side.
As for the counting thing, we do sometimes have timed efforts where you don’t have to count, and we will tell you when to stop your reps, but that isn’t every day, so it is something to keep in mind.
I totally understand wanting the coach to workout with you aspect, because I’m the same way lol. But the main reason the coach doesn’t do it along with you is just for safety purposes. We’re keeping our eyes on so many different parts of the room and making sure that you guys are in proper form to prevent injury, so unfortunately that’s why we can’t do the workout too. However, if my classes are small enough, I like to jump in on part of the workout, especially if it’s a hard one, because I know it helps if I’m suffering along with the members hahah.
Hoping that gives a little bit of clarification, and if you want anymore info or are curious, feel free to ask away. Hopefully you feel comfortable enough to come and take another intro class (you do get a second one free FYI). Not all studios pressure that much, but I’ve seen some that do, so I totally get where you’re coming from. 🤍
Thanks for making this video though! This is helpful info, that can help to make OTF a lot better! I definitely think light changes would be an awesome add on too. 🤩

Years ago I used to do the cycle bar. I have to say it’s crazy but so much fun. It’s definitely like a club and you can burn off so much with those classes.

I go to f45 and i love it! Have you tried? Orange theory was ok and they were really pushy and they called so much and I’m not good at saying no so i blocked their number LOL. I tried soul cycle which was fun but I’m not a huge fan of just biking for the whole duration!
