- First Day in Mindo, Ecuador - I explore this cute small town, and show you the hotel I stayed at. Its definitely worth the travel from Quito. If you are interested in nature and birding its for you. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops to choose from. A Cloud Forest! surrounds this amazing place.

Can you tell us where you stayed at? Airbnb? Looks amazing I'm actually going to ecuador next month. Also the lady you are with is gorgeous! She is from ecuador? Lucky guy lol
Thanks 🙏 yes I feel lucky for sure. So the town is called Mindo, it's about 2 hours from Quito. The hotel is called Cantalarana Lodge ( the old name is wikiri lodge). It was on booking but I've since been on there, and they arent taking bookings. If you really want to stay there I have the number of the man who runs it. DM me on tiktok. Are you coming to Ecuador for a holiday?
@@AronXploresI’m just visiting family that I have over there but am traveling to different places to check out like mindo. I don’t usually use Tik tok but yeah I can def use the number to hit up that guy, thanks
Hi there. Planning a trip to Mindo 2025. Can I ask if you had any bad effects from altitude in Quito?
Yes! I explain that in my Quito video, check that out. Every time I'm in Quito i get a mild headache and feel pressure in my face, I've never been there long enough to fully get over it. I Actually had a nose bleed this time.
@@AronXplores Cheers. I've been to Cusco and I believe that's higher than Quito...Only planning a night at Quito before heading lower
@@russhaywood6418 ah you'll be fine then, Cusco is like 2000ft higher. I know people that don't feel any altitude sickness when they arrive Quito.
@@AronXplores more worried about my partner than myself. She struggled a bit in Peru. Cheers.
@@russhaywood6418 ah I see, well from my own experience, It didn't stop me from having a walk about on the first day. They say to people to take it easy the first 3 days so you adjust eg. Don't go walking up big hills etc. I think the fear of altitude sickness is worse than reality in Quito, the first time I was there I did walk up a big hill on day one, I just felt like I had no energy, so learned my lesson. Anyway hope your trip goes well! 👍
