As a lifelong braves fan ive thoroughly enjoyed watching this season. I knew though that we would struggle in the playoffs. We never really addressed our pitching issues and we just do not score much without homeruns. Its hard to hit homeruns off playoff pitchers. Glad we got a win.

    • @yellahamma66
      @yellahamma66 Год назад +9

Pretty hard to argue any if that... good points. We couldn't leave Wheeler's high fast ball alone. Chased it for 5 innings...

@@yellahamma66Yep they left him in a couple batters to long. Arm got a bit tired and he relied on that slider/slurve and Darnaud was sitting on it. Got into the bull pen where somebody for sure was gonna hit one bomb and Riley did just that. Scary part is.............who do we pitch next? We should be able to score on their next pitcher but can we stop them from scoring.

    Notes From The Game:
    - Fried did NOT have a Good Night, but he DID prevent the Game from getting OUT OF HAND. 4 Innings of 3-Run, 6-Hit Ball, Walking 4 and Striking Out 3. Thankfully, he gets a No-Decision, Keeping him at 0-0, but his ERA stands at 6.75. He's LIKELY our Game 5 Starter, so we NEED to see better.
+ WHAT A JOB BY THE BULLPEN! 5 Pitchers Combined to FINISH the Final 5 Innings, Allowing 1 UNEARNED Run on 3 Hits, Walking 3 and Striking out 4. A.J. Minter gets the Win in Relief, Pitching a PERFECT 8th, but allowing Harper to earn a Walk before getting pulled in the 9th. Rasiel Iglesias gets the Save, Getting 3 Outs, Including the GAME-ENDING DOUBLE KILL!
ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 4 Runs (3 Earned), 9 Hits, 7 Walks, 7 Strike Outs, 1 Home Run Allowed.
For Five Innings, Zack Wheeler Kept us Silent... THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOSE ON HIM AND THE PHILLY BULLPEN!
+ Leave it to the OZ-MAN to get the Offense Started! 1-4 with an Single that Ronald Acuna Jr. DEMOCHARGED HOME ON due to a Trea Turner FIELDING FAILURE! Trea had both Errors in this Game, but his 2nd one JUMP-STARTED THE BRAVES TONIGHT!
+ THE D-MAN WITH A LIGHTNING BOLT! 1-3 with a TWO-RUN SUPER MISSILE IN THE 7TH! He may NOT be playing much with Murphy as Catcher #1, but he put himself BACK ON THE MAP WITH THAT ONE!
+ AUSTIN 3:16 WITH A STONE COLD STUNNER TO PHILLY! 1-4 with the GO-AHEAD, GAME-DECISIVE TWO-RUN SUPER MISSILE IN THE 8TH! He was one of the MAJOR PIECES in the 2021 POSTSEASON, and WE'LL NEED HIM TO BE IN 2023!
+ OTHER NOTABLES: Ronald Acuna Jr. had an 0-2 night, but Scored Twice on a WALK and WHACKED-BY-PITCH! Matt Olson was the ONLY other Brave to earn a Hit Tonight, Going 1-4. Everyone else had 0'fer nights.
+ WHAT. A. WIN! The Braves' Offense ROSE LIKE A PHOENIX, The Pitching HELD THE LINE, And the Defense Limited Mistakes whenever possible. The Result? SERIES TIED AT 1 HEADING TO CITIZEN'S BANK PARK. Can we take One from them at THEIR STADIUM?
    WEDNESDAY:
GAME 3 of the 2023 NLDS will take place under the Late-Afternoon Skies of Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA.
Aaron Nola will step up to the rubber for the Phillies, who is coming off a Masterpiece Outing that ELIMINATED the Miami Marlins: A Seven Inning SHUTDOWN of the Fish, allowing just 3 Hits, 1 Walk, and 1 Hit Batter, while Striking Out 3.
Meanwhile, the Braves have NOT made a decision on who will take up Battle Stations in Game 3 for the Tomahawk Chop. Will it be BRYCE ELDER, Who had a Great 1st Half of the Season and a Sloppy 2nd Half? Or could we see A.J. SMITH-SHAWVER Make his Rookie POSTSEASON DEBUT, despite only having 6 Starts in his Resume?
We Will find out at 5:07 P.M. EDT EXCLUSIVELY on the ORIGINAL HOME FOR ATLANTA BRAVES BASEBALL:
    TURNER. BROADCASTING. SYSTEM (TBS, International)!
    SoundFX09, Signing Out!

Austin Riley has grown man strength he basically pretty much threw the bat at the ball sure it was a hanging slider but he had to go get it and he he did it with one hand and he is still able to get it out one of the best swings we’ve ever seen from him

My God the emotion these men showed when it mattered most. Just think about that feeling you had when you made a nasty play and everyone saw it. It's like no other. Braves in 4 #ChopOn

This was like the time Harper got a single against the Braves and rounded first base too far, and Andrelton Simmons threw a bullet to Freeman to tag Harper out. Harper in both instances knew he was out and just turned back to the dugout without a word.

Wow. That might have been the spark the Braves needed to get going in this series. Remember the home run and the heads up play by Riley. Postseason MVP caliber stuff, right there...

Acuña sin meter un hit volvió loco la defensa de philadelfia. Cuando eres bueno solo tu presencia desequilibra a un equipo.
