Your nephews are so adorable! 💗I had no idea there was a focus on wheelchair accomodations here, and I was pleasantly surprised. I know you have a certain way of titling your episodes, but the next time you cruise with disabled passengers, I think it might be very helpful to title it something that refers to accessibility. It might help some people find it who really need the information. Thank you!

Love your nephews. So handsome and polite. They do a great job discussing the changes that they think need to be made for accessibility. The airport and plane issues shouldn't even have happened in this day and age. Now you need to take them on a bunch of different cruises to show accessibility issues on all the different cruise lines. Keep up the great content. Safe travels

The length of a plane is not a short distance, to a fully mobile person maybe, to someone with a disability its a huge challenge , my now ex had this issue many times, someone once even said she was using her wheelchair for clout when she moved out of it and walk to her seat, 3 days later we were in the hospital, saw the same person there and i have never seen anyone have a sudden realisation of what being disabled means, thank you for raising awareness!!!

I’ve yet to watch the entire video and am already blessed and saddened by what I’ve seen. I became disabled about 12 years ago, we quit traveling for fun. It’s hard to pay to travel and then pay extra because you’re disabled, plus the availability of activities is often hit and miss. What hit me so hard was when one of the boys said their neck would be sore from looking up. My husband often tells me to write a book. I tell him only if I title it “Life at Butt Level.” People often don’t think to move out of my way, but I would genuinely hope people would move out of the way of children in wheelchairs. God bless you for instilling a love for cruising in y’all’s nephews. I’m looking forward to the rest of your video.

I've had to spend some time only occassionally in a wheelchair because of surgeries. It REALLY helps you to understand in just a very small way what people feel that spend their lives in one. Maybe a couple of weeks of wheelchair life for everyone might change people's perspective of what so many people go through every day. It's horrible about the lack of accessability in sooo many places. EVERYONE should be able to get to everything they want to see and experience. And the stares and stupid things people say to people in wheelchairs, it's terrible. And I totally agree with your title...and if these people would see what YOU see they might cover up that ugly thing better 🙂

To be fair the sign said "guests with disabilities" the wheelchair picture doesn't mean wheelchair only. The wheelchair is the universal symbol for accessible. Not all disabilities are visible. Someone with heart issues or cancer for instance will look fine at a glance. I'm not saying the people using the tables were disabled, just something to keep in mind. As someone with hidden disabilities its not nice to be judged when using accessible spaces. I work in the disability field in the US. I’m glad to see the generally positive notes about the ship’s access. I remember, when the ADA was passed here, that cruise lines would give disabled people free trips to evaluate the accessibility and give feedback. Some of the access features we see today are a result of that work.
Keep giving the cruise lines feedback. (That mirrored hallway with the stairs looks like a potential nightmare for a blind person but it’d be good to hear what they’d have to say).

My wife uses a wheelchair most of the time, she is able to walk short distances. As the “pusher”, I agree with your nephew that carpets can be difficult. So is the luggage on the first and last day, as you stated. We have also find challenges with people who leave room service trays outside their door and the stateroom attendant carts if they are in the hallway. Oh, let’s not forget those red and green stateroom attendant laundry bags too!!!
We have done all of the E-class ships and they truly are beautiful and pretty accessible.

I did some traveling with a freind who had ALS & was w/c confined. The larger airlines were all very accommodating, allowing us to board first, providing "aisle chairs" which enabled easy movement on the plane, and even helped transfer him from the aisle chair to his seat. Since he needed help eating they held my meal until he was done so I could help him but still have a hot meal. This all definitely made travel easier, though using smaller airlines is probably more budget friendly. Great, informative vlog - thank you !

Those boys are great. I am a disabled traveller from Canada but originally from Hull, Yorkshire so I understood them just fine.
We travelled on the Ascent last year and it was wonderful. One addition regarding accessibility is that it is very difficult to book an accessible cabin. Like people who sit in those accessible seats and don't need to. People actually book accessible cabins who don't need them, stopping those of us that do need them from cruising at all.

As a person with mobility problems myself I am grateful you two did a video highlighting the pros and cons of traveling and cruising from the point of view of a person with disabilities.
I haven’t had a chance to cruise but I do fly periodically. At YYC my home airport, I have always been treated with respect, the security never make me stand if I’m unable to, they screen me with the wand instead of making me walk through the scanner. If I do walk through one of the officers takes my hand while my cane is put through the scanner. Very considerate of people with disabilities considering YYC is a big busy airport. Also I always fly WestJet and they are fantastic from check in to the time I get to my destination. They provide a chair and a staff member to get me from check in through security and on to the plane. I’m boarded first so I don’t hold up other passengers or get pushed around. Also they disembark me first and a chair and staff meet me as soon as I step off the plane and they stay with me until my family find me. I have never had a bad experience with WestJet. So if anyone with disabilities is traveling to Canada I recommend WestJet.
All in all a fantastic video and I’m glad the twins had a wonderful cruise.

The room tour by your nephews was really well done !!! They really included everything that someone in a wheelchair needs . Unless you use a chair , you never think of all the little bits that we need . Our last cruise from Manchester airport was shocking too and even worse coming back as we had to wait an hr to get off the plane, as there was no one available to transport us or bring our wheelchair to the plane exit . One poor man’s very expensive chair was broken too 🤬. Doesn’t seem it’s improved much either . Glad to see your video today through different eyes . Lovely kids ❤.

I think you guys are great. I have worked with many children with disabilities. In my last teaching post, I worked with profound and multiple learning difficulty children , many of whom were in wheelchairs and I understand the problems we came up against. We went on a trip to the local fish and chip place. They all had their symbol cards to ask for their food and, despite the issues with getting into the shop, the staff were so amazingly helpful, making ramps and waiting patiently while the children handed over their cards and got what they asked for. We all had a lovely lunch when we got back to school and I am happy to see you with your nephews helping them to enjoy their first cruise and hope cruise ships, ports, airports and other spaces take on board your comments about the plight of those with mobility issues and other disabilities. Still a cause dear to my heart

We've struggled with autism accessibility on ships for our daughter because there are no quiet places that don't have vocal music pumped in 24 hours a day (buffet, lounges, restaurants, solarium, hallways, elevator wells). They have every space on a different 'channel' so often you can hear two different songs at the same time. The buffet often only has one entrance with music, clapping and dancing that you can't avoid walking through. There are also some areas that can only be accessed by walking through crowded venues (like Studio B on Royal ships- you need to walk through karaoke and a gallery to reach the ice shows). The sensory overload can be quite bad and other cruisers online can be really rude about it too, telling you that if you don't like it to go sit in your cabin. The cruise line talks a big talk about autism awareness, but in the moment know nothing and change nothing.

Unlike flying, I can stay in my wheelchair the whole holiday and the whole ship has wheelchair thoughts in mind! Flying has really not progressed to 2024, but cruising is amazing!

Celebrity is now on my list of lines to try. Your nephews are adorable and it was great to hear a young person’s take on accessibility features. What a wonderful family trip. Your nephews are natural RUclipsrs!

Hubby and I just did our first cruise with hubby in a wheelchair . The only barriers we found was the luggage in the hallways and when they were cleaning the cleaning carts . We got so we would move the cards or the stewards would hear us and come and help . The crew on the Ruby Princess was wonderful. The help we had getting on and off at the ports was wonderful. The was accessible room was amazing . One little problem was people pushing past us to get on the elevator. We just waited and went on a less busy one . I would say that it was amazing , we were able to access all the decks and venues .
