It is sad that we are still talking about rotational presidency in 2024. I think leadership is all about deliverance, as such, we should be concerned more about the capacity to govern not the part of the country a president should emerge.

Great conversation. Glad to have stumbled on this and I am happy to subscribe to the channel.
The former SP spoke very well. I however disagree with his stance on the issue of a President of Nigeria of Igbo extraction. The Igbo or SE political leadership will blame everyone including Nigeria as an entity for their political woes except themselves. Until the politicians from the region looked themselves in the eyes and acknowledged that they are the pr@blem, the dream of a Nigerian president of Igbo extration will remain an illusion and elusive.
The region, from 1999 till date has been led by the PDP. From governorship seats to assembly (National and state) seats, 90% of elective political offices in the region has been to the PDP. Also, the main lieutenants of the man that calls the shot in the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, are politicians from the SE.
It is however surprising that these Igbo politicians in the PDP cannot get the party to zone its 2023 Presidential ticket to the Zone. How is it that people like Senator Ben Obi, former Senate President Wabara (also PDP BOT chairman), Osita Chidoka, Senator Abaribe and a host of them could not prevail on Obi to remain in the PDP and go all out to get Atiku to support Obi for the PDP 2023 Presidential ticket.
The political leadership in the region are good at pointing accusing fingers on other regions, their voice are the loudest on issues that concerns Lagos, Rivers and Abuja but in themselves and their region, they find no fault.
How is it that between 1999 and 2007 when the office of the SP of Senate was zoned to the SE, we had 5 Igbo men in that office but between 2007 and 2015 when it was zoned to the North Central, we had only 1 person, Senator David Mark. My point is that the region's political leadership are not united, they sell themselves out.......they need someone from.among them to say this to them.
I love to see an Igbo man as Nigerian president (it might indeed be the missing link in our strive towards development) but the region needs to be united, have a unique political identity, play the right politics, realign with othe political actors and be firm.
Atiku is planning towards a 2027 run and his foot soldiers are people, who should be seen with Obi. Tanko Yunusa from the North is doing much more for Obi than Obi's kinsmen. Alex Otti couldn't be bothered about Obi and his 2027 ambition. The guy with red cap from Imo State is more concerned about Rivers politics than Ndigbo strategy for 2027.
Baba Aldophus Wabara and others in the PDP should do better, enough of the lip service, they should match words with action.

Good analysis. Igbos are detribalised and awful at playing tribal politics. Howbeit, they are naive to a great extent in Nigerian politics. No igbo politicians openly supported HE Peter Obi.

@@BestPracticesToday I found it shamefull and awfull that not even traditional rulers from Anambra state gave Obi open endorsement. He campaigned like geopolitical orphan.

Kudos to our old parents who encouraged their children not only to speak their native language but also the language of their host brothers. I was emotional when I heard former senator Wabara an Igbo man speaking Yoruba. It is not because he lived and school in Lagos but the spirit of oneness and desire to speak our own African language associated with our old parents irrespective of their tribes. It is quite unfortunate now that majority of the children of Yoruba elites in Lagos couldn't speak Yoruba which has made it even harder for non Yoruba such as Igbo children to speak the language. The same apply to Igbo elite children in the east. It is only in the North that such regrettable action is not common.

Yes, yes and yes... its mostly the Igbos if not Only the Igbos out the three major tribes in Nigeria that regards and considers another person who is not of same tribe with them whenever they are either in a public place(s) in the compound, at work place and all. Other tribes doesn't send you rather they even take offense at you self

This interview shows that General Obasanjo is still trying to foisted his 3rd term agenda on Nigerians by supporting Yes Daddy.
The person they can remote control and the cabals in Nigeria can easily dictates too.
I support the presidency going to the Igbos, but let it be a man or woman that will stand firm against the few cabals Tinubu government is battle for right now but ordinary Nigerians will not understand due to the huge propaganda machines sponsored and financed by the cabal
