    You have the best motorized bicycles I've seen on RUclips so far. Your motorized bicycles look new and they sound great and ride great too.

    It's a bigger piston, of course it's going to have a bit more horsepower/torque, but I think a 50mm piston creates more heat than these little engines can handle, and that's probably why so many people have YD100 engines in pieces today, (not mentioning any names), lol, I'm now thinking of what type of cooling system could take-care of this problem, I run into those types of people all the time, instead of getting pissed-off tho, I try to imagine how miserable their lives must be, great video James, thanks for sharing.

    • @JamesPiccone
      @JamesPiccone  3 года назад +2

      Actually a larger piston diameter has more surface area compared to the 47 mm which dissipates heat quicker.It's just the thermal mass of The jug causes the yd to heat up quicker but nowhere near overheating I don't get over 300° on my YD. I've only seen a yd fall into pieces because of a wrist pin clip, not because of heat. Anyway this was mainly to back up "Johnny fixes bicycles" some goober got all butt hurt when he said "YD's out of the box have more performance". My yd 100 comments we're meant really to back up Johnny. Thanks for watching bro I appreciate your comments.

    • @JamesPiccone
      @JamesPiccone  3 года назад +2

      @@beast15204 I guarantee you it's probably too rich you can kind of get around that right now by taking your air filter off and using some sort of filter material instead like pantyhose. But you do need to get 5 mm Jets probably a# 65.

    • @beast15204
      @beast15204 3 года назад +1

      I have yet to come across a major issue with the 80cc except for the carburetor, after a few hundred miles the floats crack and it allows the carburetor to flood that the gas comes out the idle screw. With regards to the carb intake I never run a motor with the air filter on and always until the YD100 never had an issue with that part. 2 carbs died on me and both it was the floats because they both had the same issue with gas coming out of the idle screw and I don't mean drips I mean almost pour

    What do you think about stock performance on both of them and do they both have three piston rings

    • @JamesPiccone
      @JamesPiccone  3 года назад +3

      Three piston rings are absolutely pointless for two strokes. Three piston rings are designed for four stroke engines, the third ring is the oil retaining ring. Some high performance two-stroke engines only have one piston ring the second piston ring is just for redundancy.
