Ayo its you :) I'm sorry this has happened to you, the raid and the lawsuit, but you're fucking based for making a song out of this shit and taking it like a champion. Haven't listened to it, might do that in a sec, but either way keep doing what you're doing
And that's on top of none of the raiders wearing a body camera somehow. Nothing screams legitimate police work quite like trying to erase any proof of your actions.
@@Krunschy Unsure how it works where that occurred, but in my state it is an obligation to wear them in most departments and some states have made it mandatory for all law enforcement. Do the police here listen to their own policies they chose and not even state policy? No not really, just take a brief glance at "Cop City" in Atlanta. Do they get in trouble for it? Nope. Soooo...
Cops did the same thing in a dispensary here in california years back, after kicking everyone out, they made fun of a handicapped person "I wanted to kick her in her nub", ate edibles, and played darts. Destroyed every camera except the one that caught it all.
It's insane that these cops traumatized this man and his family, damaged his property, and then had the AUDACITY to sue for EMOTIONAL DISTRESS. Absolute goober behavior. Afroman is an absolute OG and I hope the inevitable counter-suit is successful.
His family comes to my shop all the time in Myrtle beach lol. Don't really ever see him but I know it's his family because he has come with them from time to time. Also if you know Duke Dennis I also got to meet him last year also because I work on the boulevard and I guess people like to visit it😅🤷
Not only is it lawful him recording them on HIS property, it’s protected by the constitution…the literal first amendment. As long as he has a lawyer with a pulse the cops will get laughed out of court.
I do think there's an issue with the level of authority and accountability that cops have. This situation is a good example of where police are 100% overstepping their bounds. It's also a good example of the whole Qualifierd Immunity and Civil Asset Forfiture. The raid was for false pretenses. In this situation, specifically to me is the example people want to use when exposing corrupt police abilities (not just corrupt police). I think we all, despite not knowing him, caring about him, etc. feel Afroman deserve justice here. If it's not just racist, it's definitely targeted harrassment. The police need to be held accountable, there's clearly a problem here.
Dismissed? i feel like the police should be fired and foreman compensated with like hundreds of thousands of dollars at the very least. Traumatized kids, stolen property, false allegations about criminal activity????? This man deserves to be paid millions.
Ah yes, the classic justice oriented move, disabling CCTV during a raid of someone’s house, because that has no ulterior motives and definitely helps them search the property
Maybe it’s so dumbasses like you don’t influence an actual criminal court case with public opinion by watching every moment and complaining on Twitter until public opinion is completely biased and a random jury of now biased people decide
Indeed I can't imagine them stealing anything, or murdering anyone on the spot because they feel like it, or assault the children. That's just unfathomable... Ugh... Thank the lord I'm in Louisiana and our police aren't as corrupt as these tyrants
Right?? They should feel ALL of those things. They feel that way and still miss the fact that it was self imposed by their own actions, and proceed to double down. Bunch of shit heads
The irony of them suing for embarrassment and loss of reputation when this lawsuit is only going to enhance that. Who knew stealing dudes money in a failed raid could result in loss of professional reputation
I hope Afroman counter sues them to the point that their entire department needs to be investigated for wrongful conduct in other cases. If they've stolen money from a high profile target like this, you can only imagine what they've taken from people without the means to fight back.
@@FreddyKruegerTheDreamDemonthey're stupid for shutting off his home cameras, they're stupid for "miscounting" the amount of money seized, they're stupid for not paying for the property they damaged. These were all conscious stupid decisions they made
Let me get this straight, they come in half cocked on false claims, trespass on his property, break his stuff, steal his money, disconnect his cameras, scare his children, then try to sue him? That is just unbelievably outrageous.
Honestly, race plays a factor a lot in some others cases, but even if you put that to the side here, it’s basically just the American police in a nutshell. Police Chiefs, Deputies, and Judges all back each other up for these kind of corrupt cases and blatantly get away with it a majority of times. You have to literally be as stupid as these guys in order to get justice.
Considering that people almost never see a dime after a false raid, I'm glad that Afroman found a way to make money off this while humiliating them. Unfortunately there's a good chance that the police are going to do everything in their power to harass him and his family beyond just a lawsuit
@skygard49 I’ve never understood why police get so out of joint over people not even hurting them or suing them or anything but rather just saying “wow your kinda dicks, ain’t cha?” Like what’s the point in lashing out over that?
@@noonenowhere877 Power trips. It's an unfortunate reality that some people join the police for the power it gives them, and those people don't take kindly to people 'insulting' them. Fun fact: in America, if the police completely destroyed your house while conducting a search, if they had a reason for that they don't have to pay for any of the damages or fix anything. The reason can be as stupid as a "gut feeling" that there were drugs in the house and the court won't hold them liable
Yup. It's the same way they can search your car and the like without your permission and get away with it at times. They can't investigate unless they have a warrant.. or "probable cause". "Probable Cause" meaning there's "reason to believe" someone may be injured/captive/etc.. or is in possession of illegal items. "Reason to believe" being short-hand for "gut-feeling/Detectives-Hunch" or if it's a real reason.. *circumstantial evidence* . However something as much as a "funny smell" can give them reason to search your property (might be drugs ooo!). It's only when they find nothing do they actually get in "trouble" (aka paid time off 🙄) Even then that's not guaranteed. Hell half the time they're given promotions.
yep i heard of a family that had their entire home destroyed because a wanted man broke in to hide while the family was away(aside from a young child who managed got out of the house once the guy broke in). the police did so much damage to the house, it had to be condemned due to all the damage. the cherry on top? the guy that broke in, wasn't even armed very much, the police just kept knocking holes in the house.
Wasnt there a case a while back where cops actually DID destroy a family's house and kill their dogs because they refused yo just be patient and bring in a negotiator to get a burgler out of the house? And then the court ruled in favor of the cops when the family tried to sue for damages
At 7:21 you can see all his kids’ drawings on the walls by the door. Crazy how he was accused of kidnapping when he obviously loves and cares for his kids. Very fortunate that they weren’t sitting at the table by the door when the cops busted in
Hate to break it to you but most criminals who do this kind of stuff to kids, also have kids. You WOULD think that'd be the case because you are a well adjusted human being. But, unfortunately, MAAAANY aren't.
The most shocking thing about this entire thing is the police can get a warrant with no evidence. He didn't drug traffic or kidnap anyone, so there literally couldn't have been evidence. A judge gave a warrant for this. How scary and embarrassing
Feudalism never ended, you are still a serf, and the knights can and will rape and pillage your property and family whenever they feel like it. You have never been in control, your vote has never mattered, and you have always been at the whims of those more powerful, rich, influential, intelligent, and connected than you. You are not special, you do not have genuine, real rights, and the government is not here to protect you.
So if you get kidnapped and manage to call police and tell them where you are. Then if the person that kidnapped you has a clean record, the police should just ignore your call? Obviously someone called in a fake situation to the police, and the police had to take that seriously. But i agree there is better ways to search a property than trashing it.
@@snadderloff1103 yup, in most countries they knock instead of busting the door down like they’re a SWAT team going in a hostage situation. Plus, I don’t think stealing money is the police’s business. I thought that only criminals did that. Hard to tell which is which these days.
The faces of the officers were not identifiable in the video, so Bruce Rivers who is a lawyer says they have no case and are just embarrassed the video. The ironic thing is that the lawsuit does expose their real names, so they identified themselves. The song was hilarious and so chill. Oh, no worries, if you watched the video yourself you would see them disconnect the camera system. So they had plenty of time to go through his stuff. It is better to remain silent and have someone think you a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.
The moment they claimed privacy concerns, he should counter-sue for burglary and destruction of property. The moment they claim privacy, they deny they were acting in an official capacity as a public official - there goes qualified immunity, right? No? Then you admit your filing a false, malicious lawsuit…
Absolutely ridiculous. I've had my house raided once, battering rammed my door down then came running up the stairs with ARs pointed at me, my mother, and my cousin who was with us at the time. Immediately threw to the ground and then into handcuffs. Apparently they were looking for my step brother but as far as anyone was aware, he hadn't stayed with us for months prior, it was simply the last place they had with an adress for him. I got my house absolutely demolished, couches and beds flipped completely upside down, clothes in the closet were thrown around the room as they scavenged for whatever it was they were looking for, even down to things like bookbags were just completely dumped onto the ground without a care in the world, almost as if they were certain in finding something. After hours of interrogations inside my own home and my house being destroyed in front of me, they just walked out like nothing happened. My front door remained broken until the day I moved out not to mention the gigantic hole in the wall behind the door from when they knocked it down. I couldn't even get a verbal "I apologize but I'm just doing my job", they simply walked out and acted like nothing happened. It's such a slap in the face how they treat innocent people in these situations. I don't know how their rankings or anything work, I was only 17 at the time, but I do remember one of their head guys being infuriated with me after rushing upstairs and throwing us down, he asked me the question of who all lives there. I told him myself, my mom, and my cousin then that seem to trigger him more knowing the person he was looking for wasn't actually there. My cousin remained absolutely silent the whole time meanwhile I still can hear my mom's panicked voice screaming "what's going on, who are you guys looking for" and "don't be rough with my son he's sick" as they continued to throw me down anyways. After about 5 minutes of 5 different officers acting completely oblivious to my moms questions, one dick head snaps saying to me directly that he knows that I know where my stepbrother was and that he lives here so I had to be somewhat knowledgeable on what he had going on. I truly didn't but that memory still comes back now and then. I'm not traumatized by any means but it definitely was a fun experience either. All of this to say, I can't imagine a world where all of that happens to me and my family THEN the officers try to take ME to court??? Wtf is the world coming to
I think its amazing some people out there dont get why people hate police lol. They raid the wrong homes all the time. Look it up and you'll find countless cases where the police just raid the wrong address. Not looking for anyone, just a typo when using google maps or something. Its insane. Not to mention cases like yours which just happened in my city a couple weeks ago, and has happened plenty of times before. Or how swatting is so easy, or how they'll use bogus drug charges like they did with afroman. Im personally amazed people arent up at arms about it
Those cops are ridiculously dirty. They literally looked for the cameras console in his house and turned it off so they could plant and steal items. Luckily Afroman made a big deal out of this, but now here we are… Edit: If you want more info Afroman made a video before the music video in great detail about what happened. Footage of them unplugging the unit actually.
The "miscounting" of money on top of the unwarranted raid and destruction of afroman's property is so disgusting. Not to mention his kids having to go through this... The law enforcement involved needs to face repercussions.

The miscounted money part cracks me up . Aren't they essentially trying to claim that nothing is missing , they just had the wrong number ? Of course they'd never steal it lol
All I'm gonna say is if you are suing for an invasion of privacy because you got recorded by a camera in a bedroom in a house you forced you way in then you need to double check whose privacy was actually invaded.
The worst thing is that "help me repair my gate/door" refer to just providing him the police report so his PRIVATE ASSURANCE will pay for what THEY broke. He's not even asking for reparation/compensation for that destructive raid, just that they do their basic administrative duty.
Imagine destroying someone's home and taking some money from them and later suing them for being recorded. They have the balls to sue him AND want all the money he made from it???
I grew up in Adam's County with AfroMan as my neighbor. He has always been super chill and stayed to himself. The only thing he is guilty of is wearing awesome suits to the bank. Lol
it gets into conspiracy levels when you realize they stole his money, like they KNEW the money was there no doubt and they wanted it, theres no way they didnt know prematurely that it was afromans house and knew he would have money somewhere, i guess the entire nation paying them isnt enough
That’s why you don’t keep cash in your house. It’s much harder for them to take a bank account and they can only restrict not take ownership (unlike cash). Also, you have a third party to go after for a false restriction (the bank) who also has an army of attorneys to tell the cops to fuck off since they (the bank) so not want to be liable for police’s poor/ wrong actions to you (the account owner).
You gotta know who writing a warrant about no? It's afro man he made a song called "because I got high" the raided him because they wanted a easy drug bust and bonuses. The kidnapping was too make it seem legit. They fully expected too seize his house and money and cars but they fucked up

1) You have a right to record your own property and in public places (inside or outside) and do what you want with said footage without needing anyone's consent. 2) Turning off those cameras was illegal as hell. 3) The officers won't win in court because of all of the above. Afroman is well within his rights to do everything he did and more. If officers conduct a false raid, you can be compensated for it, and they'll fix ur house for free.
Only thing you can’t legally record without consent is porn and select governmental shit, and the cops aren’t included in that luckily. Especially on your own property. He didn’t even actively do it he just happened to have security 😭😂 this court case is gonna be quick but fun
It's not petty to be mad at some state funded gang that ransacked your house, it's just your american right (contrary to the sheriff department's hurt feefees saying it isn't)
This exact thing happened to J.cole, he even made a song about it too. Pigs raided his home on false claims and as soon as they saw he had cameras they started busting them. idk if the pigs tried to sue him, but it's typical discrimination. That judge is a true G for thowing out Afromans case
I 100% believe that his children were traumatized. I think QT’s explanation shows just how fucking scary getting raided can be when she talked about it on Anthony Padilla’s podcast
This has the same energy as when the school bully harasses a kid then when that kid reports it to the principal he tries to blame him for the fight starting
The irony of raising someone's home and then suing them for violating your privacy is truly something special. I don't know US law (not being American and all), but the irony is amazing. EDIT: Just noticed the typo everyone pointed out. Wrote "raising", but I meant "raiding".
Things like this are very common. The government and police love nothing more than to wipe their ass with the constitution once in a while. Under the constitution, Afroman had every single legal right and precedent to use lethal force within the confines of the law. A person can not be made aware of a warrant if the raid is performed in a no knock setting, therefore they have no means made available to them with which they would have the means to determine that the search and seizure of their private property was lawful or not. It would only be reasonable, when one's door is broken unexpectedly, that they would act in defense of themselves and their domicile. Not only did the police act outside of the law, they acted so far outside the law that Afroman would have had a strong legitimate legal defense for killing multiple members of law enforcement. I'm obviously not encouraging anything, but the legal precedent has been set, people have undeniably and repeatedly been found acting in self defense during officer involved shootings where civilians placed in jeopardy the lives of officers found to be acting outside procedure or law. While these creatures might be predators, there are bigger, meaner, smarter predators, lawyers, waiting in the wings to absolutely rip these officers apart without remorse or mercy. While our system is "exceedingly" flawed, there is still a degree of humor to be found in the absurdity.
In America the rule is that cops actually don't care about/follow the law and basically do whatever the hell they want without recourse. If you resist even slightly they'll murder you and not get in trouble for it. They're armed thugs that are funded and protected by a government that does not value the lives or human rights of its people. They have no incentive to actually reduce crime beyond whatever quotas they're given because if there was less crime they'd be out of a job and/or get budget cuts. Their only concern is keeping our broken for profit prison system pumped full of new inmates, regardless of whether those inmates were innocent or guilty.

Not to mention cases like yours which just happened in my city a couple weeks ago, and has happened plenty of times before. Or how swatting is so easy, or how they'll use bogus drug charges like they did with afroman. Im personally amazed people arent up at arms about it
This is exactly why people can't trust the cops. It's literally their job to harass civilians. Ugly shit!
All cops are bastards, they get off on the power a badge gives them
@Basado Americano what would they even do with that info?
Those cops are ridiculously dirty. They literally looked for the cameras console in his house and turned it off so they could plant and steal items. Luckily Afroman made a big deal out of this, but now here we are…
Edit: If you want more info Afroman made a video before the music video in great detail about what happened. Footage of them unplugging the unit actually.
Also I’m pretty sure he had a backup if I remember correctly. It’s been awhile since I’ve heard about it.

That case isn’t going anywhere tho. No chance. They won’t even make it to a settlement meeting. That shit Is going out the window.
this has been a thing since video cameras became more mainstream. I remember the early 2000s they started arresting a lot of people for video taping them during an active crimescene. at one point it started happening once a week for a whole year. they police kept getting laughed out of court, but since no one was fired, they kept doing it.
It's like with the oil/rail-road companies. They'd rather not invest in the money/work to clean shit up because it's simply cheaper and easier to take the legal "punishments" instead.
The officers: **actively intrude into an innocent person's home and destroy a bunch of his property to steal his money, and traumatize and put his family into emotional distress**

I read this a few days ago and I still haven't thought of a way that any sane person could think the cops are doing the right thing. Hope afroman wins the case, his song absolutely bangs too
1) You have a right to record your own property and in public places (inside or outside) and do what you want with said footage without needing anyone's consent.
2) Turning off those cameras was illegal as hell.
3) The officers won't win in court because of all of the above. Afroman is well within his rights to do everything he did and more. If officers conduct a false raid, you can be compensated for it, and they'll fix ur house for free.

The irony of raising someone's home and then suing them for violating your privacy is truly something special. I don't know US law (not being American and all), but the irony is amazing.
EDIT:
Just noticed the typo everyone pointed out. Wrote "raising", but I meant "raiding".
Yoyo fam, pretty uncommon word but its spelled razing.
