- Battle of the EZ Bakes! I just got the MB 800 and wanted to see how it compares to my Traeger IW885. I mix up my easy rub recipe, throw on some pork back ribs and then put the grills to the test. Let's weigh the pros and cons of the grills. Enjoy!
yessss finally a grill that got the attributes I can completely live with.
To say the least, your grill review vids are really unorthodox! I like that!
I'd applaud this grill with an open mind!
I LIKE THE MASTERBUILD SERIES 800 UFFFFFFFF
thanks for pointing out all the pros and cons!
there's definitely some kind of magic in grilling!!
always good having options
Thanks, very informative
this is one helpful decision-maker vid there
thanks a lot my friend for this useful comparison!
you are supposed to shake the charcoal grate before lighting the masterbuilt. It knocks the ash off so the charcoal lights better, thats why it took so long to heat up
I've never done that, thanks for the idea. I forgot to take out the slides, which I've done about 20 times now haha. If you don't take them out it won't light, doh!
cooking like this always put a grin on my face ! ⚕️🤣
You guyz kick some serious BBQ, keep it goin'!
really what I needed for my BBQ today 🤣 😌
that's a pretty good grill comparison!
that aint so far off, in truth it is rather good or I would even say extraordinary 💛😄✈️
unbelievable grill!!!
Nice
if your doing a long cook but don’t use all the charcoal in the hopper, are you smothering it by closing vents how well / quickly does it shut down.
BBQ Guy got a lot of tenacity!
Please boss do another comparison
checked here with no real outlook on my next BBQ, left cultivated.
hi! which one do you suggest? the masterbuilt or trager? did apps works well?
They are both great but the MB tasted a little better and the app worked much better. I can't connect to the Traeger app and their customer service has not been able to help me. Price wise, the MB is about half the cost. So dollar for dollar I recommend the MB 800. Good luck!
How is your masterbuilt holding up? I'm thinking of getting the 800
If you keep it covered and clean it will last a while. The quality of the build is not as good as the traeger but it costs a lot less so that's to be expected.
I know this was an old post so really appreciate you getting back with me . Thanks man
@@markh4584 did you ever pull the trigger on the 800? I'm in the same boat as you. Was thinking the 800 or a Traeger but leaning towards the 800 because it can get a lot hotter and sear steaks, burgers, and hotdogs. Also because charcoal I hear has better flavor than pellets.
@@GSin21 hoping to pick one up tomorrow if they have it in stock.
@@markh4584 nice.. I might be getting mine sometime this month.
Awesome cookers until you lose power. How much of that Traeger pellet dust ends up on the food?
Haha, true...very true. I see a lot of guys use portable power sources, even a few with solar. I just plug and play. I have plenty of other grills I can move it too if I lose power (knock on wood, it's never happened)! Honestly, I've never notice pellet dust on the food. The heat diffuser does a pretty good job blocking it from coming up onto the meat. You thinking of getting a set it and forget it of some sort?
Controllers run on DC power. Any cell phone power bank will power these grills for days.
One thing: briquets? I thought MB states to use lump charcoal for the best results?
Yessir, briquettes work the best for me. There's no wasted space so you get a longer burn out of a full hopper.
The Showwwwwww Brother
How is the noise level compared to each other?
The Traeger fan is louder, but it’s not so loud you can’t have any easy convo with a buddy while drinking a beer ;). The MB fan is quieter for sure tho
fire BBQ 💥💥
What is your sauce recipe?
I can think of worse activities than to grill some burgers... haha
I don't know about the traeger !!?
